**What do you like best about Motive?**

The tool performs well overall, and it’s fairly easy to navigate and user-friendly. The AI dashcams are a huge plus for our fleet and drivers. The AI help bot is also great for getting quick answers and for helping us find our way around the app. We were pleased to see the Motive API and integration options, and we’re now using Motive in collaboration with our other platforms and tools so we never skip a beat. The support team has also been very helpful in resolving issues we've have with some hardware and getting it replaced quickly.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The maintenance features could use some improvement. Right now, it takes a lot of navigating between different tabs and fields just to find the details I need or to resolve and close maintenance events. I’d really like to see a dedicated maintenance dashboard for managing the fleet, or at least smoother, more streamlined navigation.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beyond real-time vehicle and driver status, Motive has helped us move away from log sheets, spreadsheets, and manual reporting. That shift has saved us a lot of time and improved how we manage our fleet and logistics overall. It also gives us strong insight into both vehicle and driver performance. The safety and maintenance alerts have been especially helpful, allowing us to be more proactive rather than reactive when issues come up.

  ### 3. Efficient Dash Camera Solution but Needs Enhanced Alerts

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I really like the AI assistant because it's incredibly helpful if I have questions about how to use the dashboard. It provides step-by-step instructions on how to do everything, which means there's not really much reason to ever call support if I'm wondering how to do something in the dashboard. The setup experience was great. The team was very helpful all the way through onboarding, and they periodically checked with us to ensure everything was going smoothly. We even had professional installers, and Motive coordinated with us, giving us updates at least once a week on the status of our camera installations. This gave us a clear view of when our fleet had been fully switched over to Motive. Apart from a couple of minor issues, everything has been flawless and easy to set up.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The following distance detection on our dash cameras isn't very accurate. Sometimes it picks up people or vehicles way far in the distance or while we're going around curves. Also, I wish the search function on the dashboard allowed searching by VIN number; that would be really helpful.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive saves us time by automating coaching, sending video clips to drivers so they can coach themselves, avoiding manual video reviews.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like that it provides the most up to date information as far as fleet tracking and fuel usage goes. The basic UI is also very helpful for easy integration into quarterly business meetings. Overall, the app has greatly improved company safety standards as well as safety performance. We've utilized Motive during meetings to discuss frequent driver infractions. Motive's 24/7 available support team also makes any integration issues easily solved.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I highly dislike the idea of having yearly auto-renewals as a subscription it feels like I am tied to the service, while it has worked out for my company I believe a monthly fee should be assessed as an option. Also, sometimes customer service support is very hard to understand and it takes extremely long to get to a proper resolution with technical errors. There's been a few times where I was promised a return call but never received one.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive has highly improved our ability to monitor all of our drivers in our fleet, the best and I mean by far the BEST thing motive offers has been its SAFETY measures. It provides detailed safety reports as well as overall safety scores to each driver. These scores are used several times in our quarterly meetings to discuss infractions, possible fines, and more. Motive has truly helped improve our standard of safety here at Accurate.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I find the AI capabilities in Motive to be great. We love the weekly coaching tool for our employees, as it saves us time by having Coach Chris reach out to each employee on Mondays to discuss any driving issues from the previous week. The robust reporting features are also a big plus for us. The transition to Motive from Samsara was motivated by our preference for Motive's superior AI capabilities. Setting up Motive was pretty easy, and any issues we had were addressed promptly by our team. The installation was smooth, and I appreciate how easy it was to install.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The DVIR platform could be more robust. I wish it would allow adding required pictures to the trailers in the inspection. Also, it would be great to have more options for the driver to put a vehicle out of service from the app rather than having the office do it.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive helps us track vehicle issues and locations, and modify driver behavior. Its AI and coaching tools save time, while robust reporting enhances our operations.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I really like the ease of use of Motive. The dashboard is fairly simple, which helps a lot. Also, it provides real-time feedback on our drivers, so we know where they are at any given moment. This is extremely helpful in managing driver behavior and ensuring compliance.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

When there's a malfunction in the dashcam ELD, the customer service reps aren't very knowledgeable about helping us fix the problems. It's like you have to figure it out yourself. Also, we have a problem with a lot of our drivers going unidentified when they connect in the morning, and somehow they lose that connection with Motive, which forces me to spend time identifying drivers. Connectivity issues, like Bluetooth connectivity, are one of our most major problems.

I use Motive for vehicle location tracking, capturing GPS miles, and monitoring driver behavior. It provides real-time feedback on drivers, helping us manage service hours and identify coaching needs. The dashboard's ease of use makes managing these functions straightforward.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

You are able to effortlessly integrate it with your TMS software to dispatch loads. Helps a ton with my role in the company as a dispatcher. Helps map out customer routes efficiently & helps maximize productivity by identifying unused trailers and calculating driver down-time.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The lack of mobile integration, the app needs notifications and instant alerts sent to your phone for arrival and departures. The mobile version seems too minimalized as we can't put driving locations for our line haul drivers via app (only website). The AI intelligence used in the app also seems forced and unneeded.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive is currently helping us track our fleet usage, determining vehicle down times and driver access across our routes. It helps us access our entire fleet from the click of a button through the motive app as well. We used to struggle with our inconsistent trailer arrivals however now we can determine exact issues and which drivers which has resulted in tremendous productivity benefits.

  ### 8. Motive: A Game-Changer with Stellar Telematics and Support

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I use Motive for its telematics system and fuel cards. With our previous fuel card program, we weren’t receiving many rebates because we don’t have CITGO stations near us. With Motive, we have access to many more rebate opportunities, especially with Exxon Mobil since that’s the station nearest to us.

Their camera systems also help us coach our drivers on safer driving practices. We have two drivers who struggle with hard braking and speeding, and Motive’s AI camera technology sends alerts when this happens. Our fleet users receive an email immediately notifying us about the hard braking and speeding, and we’ve been able to use the reports on each driver’s behavior to coach them toward safer driving habits.

Motive’s team is easy to reach, and we’ve been working closely with Jack Rogers, Sabrina Tillery, and Eugene Thomas. Jack is our dedicated account representative and has already handled two new installations for us with ease. Sabrina checks in weekly to make sure we’re getting the most out of our fuel discounts. She also added new features for us based on feedback we provided during onboarding, specifically around PIN codes and use of the mobile app. Eugene helped us when we had issues with a vehicle gateway disconnecting. He got back to us within five minutes of our request, confirmed it had been manually disconnected by an employee, and we were able to manage the situation quickly because of that.

Motive’s camera systems detect collisions quickly as well. We had a collision recently, and we received the Motive alert and reporting within minutes of the crash, even though the vehicle gateway and camera were disconnected at the time. The video clarity was very good and showed the exact moments before, during, and after the crash. There was no need for us to slog through hours of footage to find the clip we needed for the insurance company. The video quality and sound quality are excellent, and the collision reporting has been especially useful for our insurance company.

We switched to Motive primarily because of its excellent fuel discount program, and its telematics system surpasses the previous one we used. The use of AI has been a game changer, and the initial setup was incredibly easy. Steven Schwartz was our dedicated sales representative and helped with onboarding. He set up every installation appointment, took calls from our Fleet Maintenance manager, and walked me through every aspect of the dashboard over multiple calls.

The reporting is also easy to use and kept in one place. We used to have to search through a week of data to find out if fuel cards were being misused, but with Motive, the fuel card instantly detects when the vehicle’s location doesn’t match the vendor location and automatically declines the transaction. This has saved us money in fraudulent fuel transactions, and it has also saved time we used to spend trying to figure out why a purchase was made when the vehicle wasn’t there.

Having the fuel card program and the telematics system integrated together has made IFTA reporting easier, too. Instead of pulling different reports from different companies, I can see both the fuel data and GPS location data on the dashboard in the same report and format. Being able to group different vehicles and drivers together has also saved me time and energy.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The fuel card PIN requirement is not easy to set up for our drivers. Many of our drivers don’t have company cell phones or company email, but to set them up with unique six-digit PINs, the system requires sending each driver a unique PIN via email and/or cell phone. We would prefer to generate the PIN numbers ourselves and assign them to each fuel card, rather than having to go through that process.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Motive for its fuel discounts and accurate reporting. The camera systems help us coach safer driving, detect collisions quickly, and generate useful collision reports for insurance. Overall, the AI-enhanced telematics system is a big step up from our previous system. Before Motive, I would spend hours slogging through fuel and GPS data for IFTA reporting and fuel efficiency, looking for fraudulent transactions, and trying to track down missing data. With Motive, everything is in one easy-to-understand dashboard and set of reports, which saves me both time and money.

We've been using Motive for fleet management, tracking, driver logs, and reporting—and it's been an irreplaceable daily tool for our operations. The software is incredibly user-friendly, even for team members with minimal training. It’s intuitive, cleanly designed, and makes complex tasks feel simple.

One of the biggest advantages is how quickly new users can get up to speed. Within a day or two, most of our team was navigating the platform with ease. The tracking and reporting features are reliable and give us the visibility we need to stay on top of compliance and performance.

Highly recommend Motive to anyone looking for a dependable, easy-to-learn solution for managing a fleet.

If I had one suggestion, it would be the ability to set custom arrival alerts for specific locations each day. For example, being able to set a notification in the morning when a driver reaches a certain stop would make tracking even more streamlined.

  ### 10. Solid Safety Features, but Setup Can Be Tricky and the APP is horrible on dependability.

We’ve seen good results from Motive's camera features, which have bolstered our safety effort. Unfortunately it has not integrated well with Loadmaster. The implementation phase was challenging, the long-term benefits of the platform's safety tools have made it a worthwhile addition to our system.

•	Being Stuck on the drive line – which is VERY frustrating, time consuming and hard to fix. This one is by far the worst. Motive tried to blame it on Volvo, but it happens on our Freightliners as well. 
•	Not going to the drive line
•	Showing ghost driving events when the truck never moved
•	Dispatch disappearing, or never arriving at all
•	App stuck in “spinning up” mode (hamster wheel turning)
•	Not tracking hours correctly
•	Switching from our app configuration to what I assume is the default app
•	Other miscellaneous issues with the app.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I really appreciate how Motive has become a lot easier to use and navigate since the last time I reviewed it. Everything works well, and these improvements help me find exactly where I need to click, which saves me time. The initial setup was a breeze; I just logged in, and everything was already where it needed to be.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I think the thing that doesn't work the most is getting accurate fault code readings. Motive is limited to what they could do or how they could process a code. It doesn't give us an exact code name when we're trying to search up what the code is. Sometimes it does. It works like, I would say, 70% of the time. It gives us an accurate code, but then there's those codes that are kinda minuscule that it doesn't recognize, and it doesn't give you the actual code or the name or anything like that.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Motive to manage my fleet remotely, checking odometers and fault codes without being in the vehicle. It's easier to use now, saving me time by letting me quickly find what I need.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I like the video footage and the camera quality from Motive, which I find to be pretty great. It helps us see things that we've never seen before, particularly driver behavior, and is also great for us to defend claims. I can see things clear as day, both during the day and at nighttime, which is invaluable when we need to use the footage for incidents. The ease of installing new cameras as they come in or need to be changed out is something else I like about Motive.

I don't like how long it takes for footage to be available for download. Sometimes I have to wait ten, twenty minutes to request the footage. I also don't like how if someone unplugs a camera, it does not alert us. One of the failures we've identified is a camera will become unplugged while the vehicle is turned off and the modem won't know it. Then we find out when I don't see that vehicle being tracked. You get flooded with events that are not real, and end up being dismissed. The hardware is unreliable. We have changed several cords, gateways and cameras over time. Its an administrative burden to manage events that are pending review, and unidenTIfied trips.

Compared with another platform like Samsara, it also allows drivers to sign for the day to manage modifications, and then it can be unsigned again. That’s helpful in case they need to make any changes themselves.

Sometimes the system takes more than 5 minutes to update anything in the logbook. It can be a bit tricky: once you know how to use it, it becomes easy, but at the beginning it is hard to understand and to find things quickly. You often have to open many pages just to see certain information, because you need to move back and forth between different sections to get something specific.

The initial set-up is easy, and it's great to have pre and post trip info go directly to the maintenance shop, with vehicle defect write-ups automatically generating a repair ticket.

Occasionally we have had connectivity issues between the truck and the handheld device the driver is using. This has occurred a few times primarily when several trucks are very close together in the yard.

It's not the most user friendly. There are some issues that one would think they would update, but they provide workarounds instead. Such as, some drivers needing different emails depending on if they need to log for HOS or not for that trip. The onboarding is not very well structured. The tech is great but the "people" part could be better.

The user interface is simple in that its limited in options to ensure ease of use regardless of the users technology skills. Beyond that, it helps to eliminate the risk of log falsification in the case of audits by monitoring disconnects etc.

At times it can be difficult to connect to the ELD box via bluetooth. I wish there was a way to hardware directly via USB connection and let the phone/tablet talk directly to the ELD box.

I love the fact that Motive allows you to view driver's safety infractions across the whole fleet and it also assigns a safety score to all drivers. The pricing of the program sticks out as well since it's not too expensive. It was super easy to get logged in and set up Motive. So far we have integrated motive into our fleet of over 50+ vehicles, currently of only 26ft trucks.

I also personally love the fact they are a super cost effective option for fleet tracking purposes & asset management within ACE (my company). We are able to follow fuel consumption & add statistics to our quarterly meeting for improvements, goals, & possible future performance expectations.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I think the app itself can be minimized more as it seems a little overwhelming at times to look at. I think the dashboard should be customizable from user to user. A lot of features for fuel aren't being used by my company therefore I should be able to un-pin it from my dashboard, ideally. I think that Motive should focus on more personalization traits such as different colored backgrounds or even a dark mode for people with eyesight issues such as myself. A lot of the time staring at the Motive app on Google Chrome hurts my eyes after 10-15 minutes of looking at our fleet ETAs. The plain white background is definitely an aesthetic eyesore that could be easily improved though.

Motive helps track our fleets in real time and allows us to view driver safety infractions and assign safety scores. It's not too expensive, which is a plus. Through motive we have been able to positively identify and address most of our in house safety concerns. We know which drivers have repeated infractions, and require further coaching on their driving tendencies. This has highly benefited us & has made a guideline for line haul drivers.

Motive has also helped greatly with issuing drivers different personalized numbers for fleet tracking purposes. With the help of motive, Accurate Courier has began adding specialized driver numbers to track specific driver routes.

I like the history tool in Motive, where I can see where my driver has been throughout the day. The truck monitoring feature is also something I appreciate. It's helpful when making decisions in dispatch, especially when dealing with disputes with customers about delivery times and confirmations. Features such as bill of lading photos, history, and live monitoring make it much easier to resolve problems, particularly during unplanned pick-ups.

When doing a bill of lading, you're only allowed to take 5 photos per document. It would be much easier for me to get a more thorough record of the shipment if I had, say, 10 photos to record with. Just an opinion but I believe that the program could be made much more user-friendly. It seems like you have to go to way too many screens just to do basic functions in the app.

I like the ease of use and how simple it is to train new drivers on how the system works. I appreciate that the support is quick to resolve issues, and if the person can't fix it on the phone, they will send it to someone who can resolve the issue. The initial setup was pretty simple and easy to install and use. Additionally, Motive offered the forward-facing dash cams at a very competitive price.

When there is a system-wide change, they could let us know before it is implemented. They could send out an email detailing the updates to fleet admins, so we know before it is sent out, and changes just show up without warning.

I like Motive because it is a tool with which I can constantly monitor the fleet of 33 trucks under my charge in real time. I know where they are, where they are going, at what speed they are driving, what faults the truck may be presenting, check fuel levels, and in addition to being able to prevent violations by informing drivers about what they should and should not do during their service hours. Also, the customer service provided by Motive is very good, since when you have a request, just by making a call you are attended to almost immediately by a professional who addresses your request and provides a solution in the best possible time. The initial setup of Motive was very easy to do; it is a very well-designed program. I think it is an exceptional tool for controlling a freight transport fleet and more. All companies related to this should have it.

Sometimes it has disconnections due to poor internet coverage.

My favorite thing is the fact that my needs on Motive are met easily, quickly, and in a fashion that makes sense to my day to day. I periodically have a conversation with our IT guy, usually asking him about some feature or another, and I have yet to ask a question that is not able to be answered by Motive's features and functions. I use it constantly and it gives me the info I need to make sure my drivers get to make as many miles as i can give them.

The form and manner errors could be a bit easier to navigate. For shipping docs, it could be more business-specific. In nonemergency patient transfer, we don't have shipping docs, so we just put non applicable. It would be better if we could just not have that option at all in our Motive.

I use Motive for real-time GPS tracking, which improves dispatch coordination. The reporting tools make it easier to monitor driver performance and vehicle activity. The dashcam system adds accountability and helps protect drivers during incidents.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I use Motive in my job for fuel management purposes. I use it on a daily basis when it comes to verifying odometer readings when dealing with mileage mistakes and incorrect readings when drivers are entering their odometer readings in our other fueling program. Its been a blessing and a time saver having Motive for issues like these because I can quickly go to the driver's daily logs under the compliance tab and confirm or get the correct odometer reading for the specific day that I'm needing. No more having to contact the dispatcher to connect with the driver and waiting to get this information. Its also been a great tool to be able to confirm what driver is driving which truck and being able to locate and see their route they have taken. Another benefit with this program is the fact that it pairs well with the other programs that we currently use to monitor other things, like the trucks for example, we are currently in the process of switching over from physical driver vehicle inspection reports to digital inspection reports and are able to put inspections from one program into Motive as well and that makes it easy for the drivers to know when they have inspections coming up that is due on their equipment. We also use RTA360 and Motive intergrates with that program too so its been a time saver for the mileage problems as well because it automatically corrects some problems

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I don't really have any major complaints regarding Motive, but if I did, it would be that sometimes when the outages/technical problems happen, they aren't able to fix them right away so Motive can be down for some time. But I can say that its not because customer support and tech support aren't trying, they definately get to work when there is a proble going on to try to reslove it quickly.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its helping me daily to solve my problems that I have in fuel mileage discrepencies every day from when the drivers get fuel and enter an incorrect odometer reading and the intergration that is happening with RTA360 helps automate some of those problems that I normally would of had to do manually.

**What do you like best about Motive?**

I enjoy Motive for its ease of use and simple straightforward navigation. The site feels fairly responsive and loads reasonably quickly. I appreciate that these reports can be exported  as either PDF or CSV. The CSV in particular is helpful when integrating with our other reporting processes. In my experience customer service has been helpful.
The intuitive design and the tool's overall powerful functionality make it valuable in tracking machine activity and geolocation issues.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

The only issue that I have would be that early on in the integration, we had reporting issues for distance traveled. Specifically we noticed this when a unit would move around the yard. The unit could track multiple kilometers in the yard going back and forth and it would not register all the distance traveled. Lately, the issue seems to have been fixed.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us the biggest issue that Motive solves is that it allows us to easy track distance traveled in a given province. It has proven to be vital for the mandatory reporting to governing bodies to report fuel tax.

I use Motive for tracking my trucks' locations, maintenance, compliance, and driver behaviors. I like that it puts everything into one convenient location, making the whole operation more streamlined and faster. The software is user-friendly and intuitive, which makes tracking the fleet simple. Additionally, if I run into trouble, Motive has an excellent help desk. Setting it up was very easy, making it my first choice for managing eLogs when we needed it.

Motive is very user friendly for our drivers. I like how easy it is to use the motive app and the main dashboard. The reports are great too once you figure out what reports have the information you need. The cameras have clear videos and the whole system is easy to install.

You really need to have your own service to the tablet or phone you are using as an eld screen to have it work flawlessly.

The nice thing is we are in contact with motive and they seem to take our problems to engineering to find a resolution. Like video events instead of just a photo so we can coach our drivers more effectively.

I like the fact that Motive has an intuitive user interface that is more app-based than database.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

In the user interface, there are multiple areas where it becomes clumsy and often repetitive. For instance, uploading vehicle registrations has to be done for each vehicle one at a time, rather than in batches. This is especially challenging for fleets like ours with a single registration date yearly but individual cab cards for each unit. Additionally, there is limited support for trailers as assets and specific brands of machinery. Motive also holds onto fault codes longer than a unit's own ECM, leading to 'Ghost' faults that can trigger unnecessary management oversight. It would be beneficial if Motive had integration with tools like Collective Data, as their lack of integration creates redundant work. The initial setup had hitches like units not having correct identification and trailers not being able to activate once connected to the pulling unit.

**What problems is Motive solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Motive provides visibility of unit locations and centralizes maintenance and condition data, solving the issue of multiple locations for these items.

UI is very well put together, probably my highest praise of the experience. I have seen a lot of options for integration with other systems and tools, albeit I have not tried most of them. Support has been good so far, pricing is competitive enough, however, performance on the web app and downloadable client is not quite as good as I would like it to be.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

I think the performance (web app and downloadable client, however the client just seems to pop out a browser window) is quite unreliable. One thing is if a truck is in dead zone I can request video (most of the time) of what happened in that time frame, but if something happens that should trigger AI dashcam features or safety alerts like near collisions, it just doesn't, which can be a huge problem.

ELD tracking as well as live locations n trucks, leading me to better assist someone in real time

I like that Motive tracks our work vehicles in real time and provides a history. It's helpful because when I need to know exactly where a driver is, I don't have to call him anymore. I can simply check the app and relay that information to customers. Also, I found the initial setup of Motive very easy. We were able to handle it in-house without any experts. Our experience with Motive has been superb compared to our previous service with Verizon, where customer service was terrible.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

Sometimes tracking is delayed in the 'History' tab. I would like to see in real time where my driver has been in any given moment.

I use Motive to monitor our work vehicles, helping with better delivery estimation. It tracks in real time and provides a history, so I don't need to call drivers for their location and can relay information to customers easily.

I use Motive as a manager to keep track of driver logs, HOS, safety, load audits, and events. It's fantastic how it centralizes everything in one cross-platform, from driver logs to safety events. The platform makes it easy to navigate logs and events for each driver and allows me to monitor drivers in real-time. I especially like knowing what the driver is doing when driving through the dash cam feature. This centralization helps ensure compliance and speeds up decision-making, ultimately saving time and enhancing overall safety.

**What do you dislike about Motive?**

One area that could be improved is handling the UDEs. The current system shows a large volume of UDEs across all locations, making it difficult to quickly find the ones relevant to my drivers. Adding better filters such as location, driver, or region would make it much easier and faster to manage them. Also, the initial setup was a little complicated at first, but once you get used to it, it feels a bit easier.

I use Motive to replace paper logs, making it easier to navigate driver logs and events. It centralizes information, aiding real-time monitoring and compliance, thus saving time and enhancing safety.
