"Solid tool for competitive analyis"
4/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I find the competitive information the most valuable, following by the ability to quickly access profiles for mutual funds and ETFs. Furthermore, the ability to create investments lists and model portfolios that you can save is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

it doesn't have very detailed information like industry weightings that go beyond sector weightings or the ability to download rolling relative performance (i.e. historical quartile rankings). Furthermore it can take time to build lists and model portfolios - it could be more user friendly there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best investment analysis platform in the market by far. Essential to the investment industry."
5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

All the data required is seamlessly integrated into the software. It is used as my starting point for investment analysis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

Nothing. Sometimes the data isn't available for certain funds but that's something Morningstar can't control. They just analyze what they're given. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good tool for Model Management"
4/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

One of the nicest features is the ability to pull up the model statistics without having to open a draft pdf. It will save a lot of time, especially when comparing models. Another thing that is nice is the comparison between different etfs and mutual funds. Before, you were not able to click compare on an ETF for example and then switch to the mutual fund tab. Overall, the presentation tools for the data analysis appear streamlined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I have not used the software enough to determine what I dislike about the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best tool for Advisors"
5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I have been using Morningstar since their information was available on floppy disks. The information has gotten better and better. Analyst ratings have helped me take business from other Advisors who have chosen negative or neutral analyst reviews. People like to know that their advisor is putting them in well-rated investments.

Customer service is excellent. They have helped me manage custom sorts and reports.

I use it every day, multiple times during the day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

My only issue is with the drop down menus. The subcategories are in no particular order. Would be nice if they were in alphabetical order. This is an issue since I have been using the product and it has only gotten worse as more information has been added. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great tools. Price is too high. If you can't reduce your rates for LPL's 29k FAs, please say why."
4/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I like the granular detail that is available in Morningstar. The tools available to search based on a given set of criteria is excellent. I use it almost every single day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

The fees. I feel that the $186.75 being charged to each advisor / LPL branch is excessive. With over 29,000 LPL advisors it seems that my firm would or at least should be offered much more favorable rates. My questions is, how much is Edward Jones paying for each of their 20,000 advisors. I worked there for 7 years and one thing that I learned is that they negotiate their suppliers down to the bare bones. If you were to ask me what a fair subscription rate would be, my answer would be about 50% of the current rate, or $95. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cost-Effective Portfolio Analysis Tool with Intuitive Features"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I find the Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite two-thirds the cost of its competitor, which significantly impacts my decision. The platform offers user-friendly portfolio functionality with new intuitive layouts, enhancing my usability experience. The setup was pretty straightforward, which I appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

too early to say anything I dislike. It's a marked improvement over any of the previous products I have used, which were not bad, but this should be good Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
