Morningstar AWS is an excellent product for investment analysis and research. The depth and integrity of data is very impressive and the interface provides plenty of flexibitlity in terms of manipulating it for research needs.
Morningstar has been excellent at listening to their clients and making meaningful improvements to user experience, workflows, and the ability to offer customizeable and digital reporting. The strenghts of Morningstar AWS in one area, had historically contributed to weaknesses in others. The functionality and reports are great for more robust research and analysis, but can be overkill for other use cases including client reports. The direction DAS is moving in will alleviate many of the concerns with modernized reporting and more streamlined interface.
