"Quick, Custom Security Comparisons That Make KYP Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

The ability to quickly compare multiple securities with custom data points and fulfill KYP obligations. The search function is simple but such an upgrade from Workstation that we easily take it for granted but it has made everything so smooth and I hope future AI assistant integrations continue in that same vein of centralizing how we can leverage the full solution. What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

Im still having some issues with the pdf import feature in Canada or having to adjust the securities it logged because they are wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"X-Ray Reports, Morningstar Data, and Prospecting abilities Shine, Group Management Needs Improvement"
2.5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I like generating X-Ray reports to share with clients and/or inform internal investment decisions. I also like the customizable nature of the watchlists with the deep Morningstar data and ability to export. I also frequently use the Model Portfolios section to maintain my firm's models and create reports to share with prospective clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I do not like the way 'Clients' and 'Groups' function. I am coming from Morningstar Office, where relationships were managed purely in a 'Group' (or, household) style. I have no need to separate households by individual client within DAS, I have a purpose-built CRM for that. The current style of client organization creates confusion and clutter. I also do not like that I have to designate each account as "Brokerage" vs. "Advisory," they are just accounts. It doesn't matter and it looks ugly being listed on the top of the reports. "Informative but Needs More Engaging Webinars"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I appreciate the amount of information available in Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite and how easy it is to sort through and find what I need. If I'm looking for a specific topic, I can usually find it fairly easily. I also like the reminder emails that prompt me to explore topics, even those I wasn't initially interested in, which keeps me informed about the market. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

It seems like the buckets of information could be better sorted by different categories. Also, some of the Zoom or webinars are a bit dry and, while they don't need to be entertaining, it's just like a bad newscast and is hard to watch. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential Research Tool for Investment Platforms"
5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I help to build investments to our recordkeeping platform. Morningstar is an extremely helpful tool when I need to research details about an investment and it's availability. I use Morningstar frequently, almost on a daily basis. We had a meeting with the Morningstar team a few months ago to implement any product enhancements based on our suggestions, and they were very receptive to our feedback! The product has been very user friendly and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

N/A. I used to dislike that we could not see information about CITs on my team, just Mutual Funds. But we recently just received an enhanced version of the tool that provides up capabilities to research CITs as well! It helps me to see if a CIT has incepted or not, and if there is aminimum purchase requirement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Customizable Reports and Easy Imports Streamline Investing"
4/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

The new customizable report sections are helpful. I also think that the most important update is the ability to import holdings saving time in a higher equity concentrated world of investing as opposed to the old mutual fund allocation strategies. I would think that adding .png would be good too though as some clients especially prospects send screen shots of their holdings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I think there are spots that have too many clicks to get to the destination. In particular with the editing of portfolios. I also wish that there were more information about some of the more popular SMAs that we work with. Having to import each month is a painful process. I also think that the environment for researching comparable funds could be a little more simplified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Frustrating Experience with Poor Usability"
0.5/5
What do you like best about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

The fund data provided is similar to what Office provided but at a lesser scale. For example, I can no longer compare fund performance to the prospectus benchmark, only the Morningstar assigned benchmark. I don't really like anything about this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite (formerly Advisor Workstation)?

I find the Morningstar Direct Advisory Suite not intuitive and inefficient for my work as an advisor. Many promised functionalities don't work as advertised. For example, the feature that purportedly uploads client statements to input holdings and values fails frequently, forcing me to manually correct the data. The watchlist function is frustratingly limited; it allows exportation of only the first 100 rows without the ability to choose which ones, making comprehensive data export impossible. Additionally, custom data sets do not remain saved, requiring constant manual selection. The client section is cumbersome, lacking essential features like portfolio aggregation and detailed asset allocation analysis, which forces me to use alternative software for these purposes. Overall, the software doesn't equip me with the necessary tools to perform effectively, leading me to rely on other systems. I feel like I was lied to during the sales process that this was a similar product to Office. This fails in all regards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
