I love using Morgen for calendar, task planning, and scheduling. It's really easy to use and the color-coded system makes it flexible and quick to adapt. I love it as both a tool and a brand because of how responsive and accessible they are. It handles more calendars than Google, which was the main reason for our switch. I find Morgen very helpful as it consolidates my calendars and tasks into one unified platform, saving me a lot of time. The seamless setup and integration of tools like to-do lists and Google Calendar on Morgen is impressive. I particularly enjoy the single-screen view that significantly reduces my need to multitask, which is great for planning my day efficiently. I find that Morgen could benefit from incorporating more user-friendly features, especially for scheduling tasks when time is tight. Introducing intelligent reminders and some form of gamification, similar to what Todoist offers with their karma system, could provide additional motivation. Additionally, having a solid community where users can share best practices and integrations would enhance the experience. I would also like an automation feature that can allocate tasks throughout the day automatically, as my current tasks are often highlighted within a particular day, but not really scheduled. Morgen enables users to integrate their calendars and tasks into a single application, providing live updates between Morgen and their other applications. Based on my experience with it, it is strongest for integrating calendars. Morgen allows you to share your calendar with others while maintaining your privacy so they can schedule appointments with you. This reduces the hassle of emailing back and forth to find a mutually agreeable time. It also schedules travel time to meetings (if you enter the location), which is a great feature.

For task management, Morgen supports time blocking, where users assign tasks to specific times on the calendar. You can assign tasks manually by dragging and dropping them into time slots on the calendar. If you prefer, the developers have incorporated AI to plan your time blocking. The best part is the Discord community. Other users are there to help, but people involved with Morgen are also there. Morgen also provides users with the opportunity to request features and vote on these requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Morgen does not allow users to create dependencies among tasks. For some people, the inability to create task dependencies might be a deal breaker, particularly if you want to use the AI functionality. Most projects have multiple tasks, and team members cannot start some tasks until other tasks are complete. Unfortunately, the app does not provide any fields or other functionality to indicate dependencies among tasks. There may be an ad hoc way to use the due date and importance field, but I'm not sure how this would work.

In addition, tasks include a due date field but not a start date field. This omission isn't necessarily bad, particularly if you are trying to time block to complete your tasks by the time they are due. However, the lack of this field can make it more difficult for some people to develop an efficient ad hoc method to account for dependencies.

The team at Morgen is fantastic and continues to improve the software. They may add dependencies and a start date to the app. Unfortunately, according to the road map, these two features are not planned and, given the number of votes, I don't anticipate them to be prioritized any time soon. I am a solo founder in addition to having a pretty busy activity schedule outside of work. I also manage different areas of life into a combination of Airtable, Obsidian and Apple Reminders across 8 different calendars. I was also in the market for an online booking system. Morgen fit like nothing I had ever seen before.

Morgen is great for my brain because I was having a hard time staying organized by trying to use just one software to track tasks (too much time doing data entry.) With just a couple of workflows and the Obsidian ToDo plugin, all my scattered tasks flow into Morgen's beautiful and easy to use calendar. Although I haven't set it up yet, the AI planning feature looked extremely promising so I can soon save myself that task too. It syncs well across Fastmail, Google and iCal, so I know everything is up to date.

I am not paid at all for this review, and I have no other relationship with the company. With that said, I have worked with hundreds, if not thousands, of SaaS apps in my career. The only small downside I've noticed is that syncing on the mobile app doesn’t always happen automatically. I usually do a quick manual refresh when I open it to make sure everything’s up to date. I like the ease and efficiency with which you can integrate several calendars into one, where I can change colors and priorities, organize tasks and events, send scheduling links, and block out focused work time. I have been using Morgen for years now and would never change with any other calendar I have tried in the past or seen from colleagues and friends. There’s very little to dislike about Morgen. If I had to mention something, it would be that some advanced features (like deeper task automation or more customizable widgets on mobile) are still evolving. Love the simple and highly customizable design of the calendar app. Since I started using Morgen, it’s been a massive game changer for planning both my workweek and personal activities. Having a consolidated view of all my calendars and being able to propagate events to block the respective time slots solved a major pain point for me right away. The journey got even better as I discovered all the integrations with to-do apps like Notion and Outlook. I honestly can’t imagine planning ahead without it now!
