## Moodle Reviews
 ### 1. So much better than expected. Update after a year.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan S. | Training Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Having the ability to use off the shelf standard trainings and create our own has been a perfect blend to meet our employee needs. We can roll our a basic fire safety training and then supplement with customized and targeted trainings to different departments and locations. Their helpdesk has been super quick to answer all of my questions.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

They have amazing options for creating content using H5P. There are two content types - branching scenario and interactive video have had some glitches.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem of visibility has been completely changed. We did not have an LMS prior and Moodle is able to take our multi-page training checklist and mimic it then add features and so notes are available and digital signatures all while being visible from any shift to the department manager and safety and HR. There are general training topics that we are able to use profession SCORM packages and they work very well. We are also able to create and implement our own internal trainings and the variety of content delivery through Moodle means our employees don't simply get PowerPoints and PDF's, they get interactive e-learning and the possibility of multiple ways to check for understanding.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Ryan,

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review!

We're delighted to hear that Moodle's flexibility, ease of use, and mobile accessibility are having such a positive impact on your organisation. It's especially rewarding to know that our implementation support helped ease the transition and that you're seeing meaningful benefits like improved training visibility, streamlined digital tracking, and more engaging content delivery.

It’s great to see Moodle supporting your shift from paper-based checklists to a more transparent and interactive learning environment. Thank you again for sharing your experience – we're proud to be part of your learning journey!

 ### 2. Moodle: Mature, flexible, and Open Source LMS with a huge community and ecosystem of plugins

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alfredo G. | Moodle Expert, creador de contenidos e instructor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle has many advantages: it is a mature LMS, with many years of development, and it is also the most used LMS in the world. This means there is a large community of support and development around it. You will almost always find someone to help you, some reference video, and very well-developed and consolidated documentation over the years.

This maturity also means that practically everything is covered, and that the platform is flexible and adaptable to different scenarios. Being Open Source, it has no licensing cost. It has more than 2300 plugins developed by the community, which allows for additional integrations and functionalities to be added to the core.

Starting from version 4.3, integration with different AI providers is already included, and more and more plugins are appearing to meet different requirements with the help of AI. Finally, being Open Source, it offers great possibilities to customize the interface design and adapt it to the needs of the institution.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Being such a complete and flexible LMS, there is a learning curve that is not exponential, but it is long if one wants to master the tool thoroughly. On the other hand, being Open Source, its installation is not difficult; however, it is not easy to implement the correct infrastructure, especially on large platforms, for example with more than 5,000 users. A poor configuration can considerably decrease the platform's performance.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle addresses the need to implement platforms for comprehensive learning management, oriented towards the student's experience. Being modular, it adapts to different teaching models and allows you to create spaces just as you imagine them, according to your specific needs.

**Official Response from MoodleHQ Team:**

> Thanks Alfredo, for taking the time to review Moodle. We really appreciate your level of detail.

 ### 3. Powerful, Flexible Open-Source LMS That Adapts to Our Institution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frédéric G. | Educational Technology Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

I like that Moodle is a powerful, flexible open‑source LMS that we can really adapt to our institutional needs instead of adapting our practices to the tool.

More specifically, I appreciate that:

The overall architecture is very modular, with plugins for almost everything (question types, activities, reports, integrations), so we can extend it instead of changing platform every few years.

It offers rich pedagogical features out of the box (quizzes, assignments, forums, workshops, rubrics, learning analytics, competencies) that support both traditional and more innovative teaching approaches.

Being open‑source, Moodle gives us control over data, updates and branding, which is important in a public higher‑education context.

The large community (plugins, documentation, forums) makes it easier to find solutions, good practices and examples from other institutions similar to ours.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

I dislike that Moodle can feel complex and sometimes inconsistent for end users, especially new teachers who have to navigate many settings and configuration options.

More specifically, I find that:

The overall interface and UX still look a bit dated and cluttered compared to some newer LMSs, which can discourage less tech‑savvy users.

Some configuration pages and advanced settings are scattered and not always intuitive, so admin and support work often involves a lot of “where is that option again?” time.

Because it is so feature‑rich and extensible, it can be hard to maintain a simple, coherent experience when many plugins and customizations are enabled.

Major version upgrades sometimes require careful testing of themes and plugins, which adds overhead for administrators and can delay access to new features.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle centralizes our digital teaching and assessment in one place, which solves the problem of scattered tools and inconsistent practices across courses and teachers.

Concretely, it helps us to:

Standardize course delivery and assessment workflows so students always know where to find content, submit work, and see their grades, reducing confusion and support requests.

Support blended and online learning at scale, with quizzes, assignments, forums and SCORM activities that teachers can reuse from semester to semester instead of rebuilding everything.

Provide better tracking and analytics on student progress so teachers and program leaders can identify at‑risk students earlier and intervene in a more targeted way.

Integrate with our existing institutional systems (like Microsoft tools) so authentication, access and course creation are streamlined rather than managed manually.

**Official Response from MoodleHQ Team:**

> Hi Frédéric! Thank you for this incredibly detailed review. Glad you are enjoying using Moodle!

 ### 4. Unmatched Flexibility and Customization with Moodle’s Open-Source LMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco M. | Senior Project & Program Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

As an administrator who has worked with Moodle across multiple client environments, what stands out most to me is its flexibility and open-source nature. No other LMS offers the same level of control over customization—whether it’s branding, plugins, workflows, or integrations—without the constraints that come with licensing.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Administrative complexity is a recurring challenge for me. Moodle is powerful, but that power comes at a cost: the configuration options are extensive and not always logically organized. As a result, it’s easy for less experienced admins to misconfigure something or get lost in deeply nested settings.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For clients with limited budgets but complex requirements, Moodle has been especially valuable. It makes it possible to build a fully functional learning ecosystem—covering course management, certifications, blended learning, and SCORM/xAPI content—without recurring licensing costs that would otherwise make the project unsustainable.

**Official Response from MoodleHQ Team:**

> Thanks Marco, for this great review. We appreciate you taking the time!

 ### 5. Moodle's flexibility is the best.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bernadette A. | Learning and Development Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Initially, I had some reservations about Moodle since I wasn’t very familiar with it, especially having used other platforms like Docebo. But after three weeks of testing courses and extracting analytics, I can confidently say that it is very user-friendly and efficient. What sets Moodle apart from other platforms is that it has flexibility and customization option s. It allows for more control over the course design, enabling instructors to tweak and adjust content more easily. I'd say Moodle is a very powerful tool, it has so much flexibility.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

One thing I dislike is that I'm unable to install additional plug-ins since I have Moodle Cloud. I was hoping to use certain templates that require plug-ins, as they would help make our business' LMS appear more organized and conducive to learning.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As our business grows, it’s becoming increasingly challenging to track training for both new hires and senior staff. Our training materials are currently scattered across ShareFolders and various group chats, which makes it difficult for staff to find them easily. A lot of time is spent simply trying to find the right training resources. By implementing Moodle as our official LMS, we can centralize training delivery and track everyone’s progress. It will also provide a single place where staff can easily find materials, whether they need a refresher or want to take a course for their personal and professional growth.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Bernadette,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience! We’re delighted to hear that Moodle’s flexibility and customisation options have helped you design and manage courses more effectively. It’s great to know that the platform’s ease of use and analytics have supported your training needs and helped centralise your learning resources.

 ### 6. Swiss army knife of

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JP d. | Web Developer IT manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Any question I've had, someone has already asked and answered in the forums.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Setting up and hosting it does require some technical know-how (or a good IT person), but the online community is massive and incredibly helpful.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We transitioned to Moodle a couple of years ago to deliver our professional training courses, and it has truly transformed our workflow. Being open-source, Moodle allowed us to tailor the platform precisely to our requirements, including incorporating our own logo and branding throughout the site. The range of available plugins is impressive; we easily found solutions for certificates, payment processing, and webinar integration, which made Moodle an ideal choice for us.

While setting up and maintaining Moodle does demand some technical expertise—or at least a reliable IT specialist—the vast online community is a tremendous resource. Whenever I've had a question, I've found that someone else has already encountered the same issue and provided answers in the forums.

For our students, Moodle offers a straightforward, centralized hub for all their learning materials. Although it may not have the sleekness of some corporate systems, it is dependable, secure, and fulfills all our needs without tying us to an expensive subscription. In many ways, it's the Swiss Army knife of learning platforms.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi JP,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Moodle! We're delighted to hear how the platform has supported your organisation in delivering professional training and that the ability to tailor it to your branding and workflows has made a real difference.

 ### 7. My Experience Using Moodle in University Teaching - Reliable Platform for Streamlined Teaching

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Sheerali A. | Learning Delivery Adjunct / Subject Matter Expert, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

I like Moodle because it is reliable and easy to use for daily teaching. All course materials, assessments, grades, and announcements are in one place. It helps me stay organised and ensures students can easily access learning resources anytime.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Sometimes Moodle feels slow or cluttered, especially when managing multiple courses. The new interface could be more visually modern and intuitive. Certain features require too many clicks, which can be time-consuming during busy teaching periods.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle solves the problem of managing teaching, assessments, and communication in one platform. It benefits me by saving time, improving consistency, tracking student progress, and supporting flexible learning for students both inside and outside the classroom.

**Official Response from MoodleHQ Team:**

> Hi Dr Sheerali! Thank you so much for this lovely review.

We love sharing reviews like this with our team, so we appreciate the time you have taken to give such thoughtful, considered feedback.

 ### 9. Easy-to-Use Tool for Tracking Student Marks and Remarks

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prathamesh B. | intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

The feature that allows us, as teachers, to check every student’s marks and remarks is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

There isn’t really anything I don’t like about it. It’s better, and it’s easy to use.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the issues of managing and monitoring student data, and it also makes it easy to create and give tests to students.

**Official Response from MoodleHQ Team:**

 ### 10. Strengths and limitations of Moodle

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in E-Learning | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

The platform is customizable, especially when you have the ability to code in HTML or CSS. Bulk user imports via CSV file, once you understand the logic of the columns to integrate.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

I find the native activities of Moodle not very aesthetic, which leads me to favor the integration of external creations designed with Genially, Storyline, or H5P. Moreover, exporting the tracking and results of SCORM files is not always easy to use. The visual rendering depends a lot on the chosen theme: in our case, since the platform is managed by the Region, we do not have control over the theme or the code, which greatly limits customization.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle centralizes all educational resources and training activities in one place, making it easier for learners to access content. It also allows tracking of each individual's progress and organizing bulk imports via CSV, which is convenient for managing large groups.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Moodle! We’re glad to hear that the platform’s customisation options, centralised course management, and bulk user imports have been valuable in supporting your training needs. It’s great to know Moodle is helping you simplify access to resources and track learner progress.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

We service more than 1,000 clients and manage tens of thousands of users across the country. With Moodle, we’ve been able to deliver a modern, seamless training experience that consistently earns rave reviews from our clients.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

The reporting functionality could be more user-friendly out of the box. Initial setup and configuration required a steep learning curve. Some advanced features require extra time and effort to fully leverage.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle Workplace helps us deliver scalable, high-quality training across thousands of users and hundreds of clients. ### 12. Flexible and Powerful LMS, but Needs Smoother Updates

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amey D. | Project Lead & Business Solutions Specialist - LMS, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle is one of the most flexible and feature-rich open-source Learning Management Systems available. I love that it allows complete customization - from course structure to user roles, plugin integrations, and UI themes. The large global community means continuous innovation and support. It's especially valuable for institutions or training providers looking for a self-hosted, cost-effective platform without compromising on features. The ability to scale and extend Moodle with plugins is a huge plus.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

The update process could be much more streamlined. Currently, it requires several manual steps - from backing up the database and replacing core files to checking plugin compatibility. This makes regular updates more cumbersome than they should be, especially for those managing multiple instances. A more automated update mechanism or even a built-in one-click updater would significantly improve the admin experience.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle helps centralize and streamline the entire learning experience - from course delivery and assessments to tracking learner progress and communication. It solves the problem of fragmented training tools by offering a single, customizable platform that supports diverse content types, role-based access, and detailed analytics. For me, it's been especially beneficial in delivering structured learning at scale, with the flexibility to tailor the platform to specific organizational or academic needs. Being open-source also keeps long-term costs under control while offering full control over data and functionality.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Amey,

Thank you for your thoughtful review!
We're glad to hear you value Moodle's flexibility, rich feature set, and the benefits of our open-source model especially for scaling structured learning while maintaining control and cost-efficiency.

We appreciate your feedback on the update process. Insights like yours help guide ongoing improvements to the platform. ### 16. Use of Moodle as a teacher and as an educational coordinator.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alberto J. | Coordenador do Laboratório de Inovações Pedagógicas - Head of the Educational Innovations Laboratory, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 04, 2024

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle is stable, a fundamental aspect for maintaining and managing courses in the long term. It is flexible, with a huge number of Addons available that have always allowed me to adapt it to different needs I had. Furthermore, an even more fundamental aspect, as it is open-source software, I was able to adapt plugins and tailor them precisely to the needs I encountered. For example, we modified the certificate issuance plugin to allow multiple automated digital signatures on the same certificate.

Also precious is the support from the community, always a partner and with interesting solutions.

A quality that is often pointed out as a weakness (I see it as a quality) is that using Moodle implies bringing into the institution the competence for its management and maintenance. A common phrase, it's not free, it's open-source, it has a significant cost to be maintained, but you have complete control over the system. You replace the phrase "the system doesn't do that" from proprietary LMS with "I don't know how to do that yet," which reveals who is responsible for the LMS resources in use.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

I cannot present the point I bring here as a criticism, as I do not see how it could be improved, but it is worth mentioning. The handling and adaptation of tables is very complex, if it were possible, I would think of an interface that simplified the handling and searching of data in the tables. Generating usage reports other than those that already came by default has always been very laborious and complex.
Two other issues brought difficulties when I was responsible for managing the LMS:
1) updating to version 3 (some time ago) when it was necessary to redo a large part of the course structure (I saw this resolved in the migration from 3 to 4) and
2) The time required to back up complete courses. As I worked with courses with many images, the time for copying and backing up courses, internally in Moodle, was always very long, often longer than the time the server maintained the connection, sometimes forcing the process to be restarted.

 ### 18. An intuitive and easy to use LMS system

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catherine C. | Chief Executive Officer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2024

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Our Association is only just starting to move into the online learning space by developing our small short courses for our industry.

I knew of Moodle through hearing about other people's experience in the online learning space but I looked at a few different options to make sure I was getting the best system . I decided to sign up to Moodle Cloud as I thought this would be the best option as I did not want to spend too much money while I was teaching myself how to create an online course.

I am happy to say that Moodle had a comprehensive learning database and short courses which made it easy to learn how to use their system.

In the six months that I have been using Moodle I have successfully created two small short courses and rolled them out to members of our Association. Our Association has 37 people enrolled across the two courses which is encouraging. Of those, only two participants experienced difficulties in completing the course or navigating the online LMS.

I have had good support from Moodle when I have needed to contact them after not being able to work out a solution to a problem I kept encounting.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

With many tools it is hard to know when to use the right one.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our Association has had to pivot to online learning as traditional, face to face, onsite learning/teaching opportunities is limited for our industry.

With Moodle we are able to reach more of our members who are spread over a large geographical area.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Catherine,

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with Moodle. We're pleased to hear that you found our system easy to learn and that it has enabled you to successfully create and roll out courses to your Association members.

 ### 20. Versatile learning management platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cassious M. | Manager: Strategy and acting digital transformation lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2024

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

The flexibility of the platform is catering for different organisational needs. We are a development organisation with several programmes, some of which do not even fit the learning part, such as workshop facilitation or dicussion focurms, and with the features and the ability to integrate with other platforms, we are still able to support learning, coollaboration, etc. It is also easy to use by our beneficiaries and internal teams, and with the support of an expert service provider, Open Learning Technologies, it was easy to drive our programmes and thus implement withtout many challenges.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

WIthout internal technical expdertise, it requires dependency of a service provider and this may be costly, even if it is open access.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have digitised our education development prorgamme for teachers in rural areas with the intention of easy scaling to cover more schools.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix N. | CRM Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle is an effective tool to organize educational content in modules and integrate apps or activities from other platforms.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Some of the features are not completely user friendly, understanding that the app is also used by students. Also, the test or exams module is confusing to set.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, at the moment.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

Thank you for your feedback!

We’re glad to hear that you find Moodle effective in organising educational content and integrating external tools, it’s great to know it's supporting your work as an educator.

 ### 22. Moodle is a flexible open-source Learning Management System

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2017

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle provides the flexibility that you are looking for in an LMS. It allows you to manage your content effectively, organise it in a meaningful way, assess your students through a variety of activities and provide feedback. What makes Moodle flexible is the number of integrations available for other learning and teaching software. Moodle also integrates with other systems, such Turnitin Similarity/Feedback Studio, Zoom, Panopto, Blackboard Ally and more, which allows for a more consistent experience. Moodle works as a central hub and is connected to every other service that a organisation might be using alongside it.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Moodle can be quite complicated sometimes and its ways to achieve things are quite long-winded. You need to spent a lot of time to figure out why learners can't submit an assessment or why they can't the feedback you have provided in assignments. Some standard activities (such as Moodle Lesson) are best to be avoided and replaced by third-party software (such as H5P).

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One system to organise learning content and run assessment for our learner. There is a seamless integration with our Student Record System, Zoom and Panopto (our VCMS).

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle helps in various ways, engaging students and lecturers, and also you can make use of Moodle anywhere you are.

Moodle has a lot of useful features. It is evident that the platform is the result of many years of experience with e-Learning delivery.

 ### 32. An affordable and robust LMS for any type of organization

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javier F. | Consultor de proyectos elearning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

It has a very high degree of customization, both at the graphic level and in extending its functionalities, using graphic "themes" for this purpose, its open-source code that allows it to be modified in a standardized way without fear of future updates, and the use of third-party plugins.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Sometimes its robustness of features works against it, in the perception of non-technical administrators, as they may perceive it as an LMS with too many features and more complex to configure.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has helped us offer a very affordable LMS tool for any type of organization.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Javier,

Thank you for sharing your experience with Moodle! It's fantastic to hear that you've had a positive experience using Moodle. The high degree of customisation is what sets Moodle apart from its competitors.

 ### 33. best-in-class open source LMS for today and the future

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

After the pandemic virtual learning debacle, it became obvious to adopt tools specialized in delivering blended and virtual learning. Moodle gets it all right, flexible and powerful; superb features for any style of learning, and a huge plug-in ecosystem.

With API access it is not difficult to pull resources in from other sources (or share resources from moodle).

I'd be remiss if I didnt mention H5P, interactive asessment that links into moodles gradebook. All really good stuff.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Anything relating the customizing themes is a pain in the ass. I use default theme boost. There are some really good themes you can buy - not that expensive. But if you want to customize a theme, blech.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Delivering content is more than just watching youtube videos. There has to be meaningful assessment and engagement or it's just another resource dump. Being able to offer blended or virtual learning is a huge value-add for me and my students. Moreover, if a student wants to extend their learning I can simply enrol them in one of my courses.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Bill,

Thank you for writing review about Moodle. We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with Moodle especially regarding its flexibility, powerful features and integration with H5P for interactive assessment.

If you want to improve, customise, or expand your LMS, we encourage you to contact our Moodle Certified Partners and Service Providers, who can provide 24/7 support. Discover how they can support your needs at https://moodle.com/solutions/certified-service-providers/.

 ### 34. Moodle Workplace Provides The Power and Flexibility Needed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew L. | Executive Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

The migration to Moodle Workplace provided us with a powerful training and implementation team that laid the foundation for our LMS today. Of course, most LMS companies help with migration, but this was different. I had managed other LMS providers in my career and the experience, answers, and dedicated time - but my experience with Moodle US was beyond anything that I had experienced. Our LMS went from no courses to over 200 as of today. We are in the administration side of Moodle Workplace every day the office is open as we support students and seek to enhance their experience.

As an educational non-profit, the following details are what is the best from our experience:

- Flexibility - The coding in Moodle allows us to even change the names of buttons, items, etc. This went beyond adding our logo or even brand colors. This allowed us to have each student experience be unique to our vocabulary and "look and feel".

- Programs - We leverage Moodle Workplace which allows us to create programs. These are bundled courses or a series of courses that can be packaged together and allow for a seamless experience for our students. This provides so much power with bundles, certificates, and other course groupings. From a student experience - it is all seamlessly connected. This past year, we looked to move from Moodle Workplace to Moodle. Moodle didn't have this functionality so we stayed with Moodle Workplace.

- Branching Scenarios - Moodle allows us to create branching scenarios that provide a student experience in line with a Choose Your Own Adventure. This allows scenario training, feedback, and the opportunity to make new choices. This has been very powerful for us!

- Price - We've looked at a lot of LMS providers and the scaleable and affordable price point of Moodle has us sold. As a non-profit, finances are critical, and having access to a robust system at a solid price point is brilliant!

- Support - I've worked with support tickets before. But the Moodle Support Team is out of this world. Super fast response, research, and help in addressing questions, fixing issues, and walking us through upgrades. Every interaction has been stellar - truly.

- Plug Ins - Want to go farther? Moodle has so many plug ins. We tend to use very few and keep it to the Moodle Core, but the options are there and we review them from time to time. Everyone has a unique situation and that plug in might just make the difference to someone.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

With flexibility comes complexity. Moodle serves a worldwide community. It takes an investment in time to really understand the multitude of settings (most of which we haven't even needed to change or use), but they are there and when we are troubleshooting things - there is a bit of research. (Support has been so helpful, but there is a big ownership piece taking on Moodle - more so than some other LMS providers.)

We all use things differently and with upgrades to address enhancements and changes made to things from the look and feel to how the interface works. Once you get to the point of customizing things it can be challenging when options are taken away. For example, the recent upgrade took away the next button on the screens and moved navigation to a left-hand menu. It seems clunky. An enhancement request has been made by a group looking to return that function. That said, we can use a plug-in to put that back into the functionality. In the end, it would be great to have had the ability to turn it on or off - not just take it away. Once you get used to customizing things - it can be hard when you can't.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We had a problem of being relevant in the 21st Century. As a non-profit organization that started in 1912 - it happens. Moodle allowed us to jump into the current century (and beyond)! Before that our content was open and it was easy to "take". Now, we have reminders, workflows, and student engagement with videos, articles, case studies, scenarios, assessments, content, and more. This benefits us greatly because we can talk about the experience with our company as a positive one and that the learning experience is one we can fully and honestly recommend. At a time when more and more organizations are doing more with less or even disappearing. We are thriving and growing. We had three employees and even with all the new technology and options - we didn't replace an employee when they left and two of us handle it all. This is a huge benefit to us, the students, and the community.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Andrew,

Thank you so much for sharing your positive experience with Moodle. The flexibility, program creation, branching scenarios and support are indeed some of the key features that set Moodle apart.

Your input is valuable as we continue to improve our platform to serve our users better.

2. We are a group of 132 institutions in the far area of northern india. To teach the students with the help of electronics equipments we use LMS for content delivery.
3. We are also using this LMS for online leaning and teaching of few courses.
4. Automated online assessment and assigment reduced the teacher's load dresticly.
5. Integration with big blyue button it removed the interfarance of outsiders/unathical intruders during the online classes.
6. We use the moodle for psychometric, career counselling test of the students
It is a big list of benifits.

 ### 38. The Perfect LMS

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vinay Prakash M. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle is one of the best LMS for any institute, It has everything that an institute needs to run smooth online classes. It is very easy to integrate and friendly to use. I have been using it for quite a long time and have found it most useful. I can easily manage all my classroom activities such as online student attendance, exams, results published, etc. Very easy to implement with any website and can be operated with any basic laptop.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Just one recommendation, templates are very less.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it for some of my clients and found that managing classes, designing courses and modules, tracking students' attendance and allocating the assignments all these become so easy here. You can easily track the course progress and student progress. Even you can upload the assignments and conduct exams as well.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Vinay,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Moodle. We're thrilled to hear that you find Moodle to be one of the LMS for your institute.

 ### 39. Pretty powerful LMS for small and large organizations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vicente G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

I appreciate the 4.1 version's easy-to-use interface and abundance of customization tools and options, which, when combined with the reporting tools, offer teachers a great deal of control and flexibility in terms of designing their courses and overseeing their content. Also, its scalability for large organizations when working with a Moodle workspace is quite powerful.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Lots of customization options and tools also imply a steep learning curve for managers. Not too simple self-setup and integrations might require some external services to support your team if the approach gets a little complicated. In any case, there are some very interesting, not too expensive, options to explore.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We train staff and constituents on the same platform. We connect it with other custom systems that we own to manage training and exams related to them.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Vicente,

 ### 41. A REVIEW OF MOODLE

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Paco S. | Adjunct Lecturer, Higher Education, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 28, 2024

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Moodle has a nice range of functions, which are very useful.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

The only "dislike" I have concerning Moodle is that I believe its console could benefit from a more faciliatory outlay.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle does not, necessarily solve a "problem", as it more functions as a means through which online classes can be facilitated.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Paco,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Moodle. We're pleased to hear that you see its potential.
We are continuously working on improving platform to better meet your evolving needs.

Warmest regards,

 ### 42. Moodle has its pros and cons!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

I find Moodle's feature of creating and managing online courses while keeping track of student progress to be incredibly convenient and efficient. The ability to offer students the option to take online coursework is especially beneficial, as it allows for flexibility in scheduling and location while still providing a structured learning environment. Additionally, as an instructor, being able to easily monitor student progress and provide feedback in real-time allows for more personalized and effective teaching. Overall, Moodle's online course management system greatly enhances the learning experience for both students and educators alike.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Learning how to use Moodle can be a daunting task due to its vast range of features, making it complex and time-consuming to figure out. Although Moodle is an expansive platform with many capabilities, the process of getting started is not streamlined. Our team spent several months trying to navigate the platform, but fortunately, our Moodle Representatives were patient and kind throughout the process.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

By providing students with the option to complete their coursework remotely, we have been able to offer a more flexible learning environment. This will allow us to attract a wider range of students who may otherwise not have been able to attend our courses due to geographical or scheduling constraints.
Moodle has helped us streamline our training process. We no longer have to spend time and resources on finding a suitable location for our courses, nor do we have to worry about creating a schedule that works for everyone. Instead, we can focus on delivering high-quality training content that meets the needs of our students.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi,

Thank you for sharing how Moodle has helped you offer a more flexible learning environment and streamline your training process.

Moodle is designed to offer flexibility and adaptability to meet your organisation's unique needs. We are dedicated to improving our platform to provide the best learning experience. Our network of Certified Partners and Service Providers is always available to provide the best assistance and customisations for your needs.

We look forward to contributing to your learning success. Thank you for choosing Moodle, and have a great day!

Thank you,

 ### 43. Seamless Virtual or Hybrid Learning Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sylvester Zibusiso M. | Co-Founder & Director of Programs, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

It's easy to adopt, set up, integrate, and customise to training needs and provides a dashboard and reporting system that meets my organisations needs. It also has a mobile app making it more accessible even in remote or "on the go" situations. The customer support is also very helpful. I mostly use/engage on the platform for about 4 to 6 months annually due to the nature of the project I am working on.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

None that I can think of at the moment as it is meeting my organisations needs

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Delivery of Training across many countries, time-zones and generating progress reports, as well as being able to interact/follow-up with participants.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Sylvester,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on Moodle.

Your insights are crucial to us. We're dedicated to continuously improving our platform, and ensuring your Moodle journey is smooth, successful, and fully aligned to your evolving needs.

**Official Response from Megha Rajan:**

 ### 46. Moodle is the best opensource Learning Management System there is.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Simbarashe Z. | Systems Administrator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

It is flexible, configurable, and customizable to your institution's requirements. If you want to integrate it with other systems, it is seamless with their web services APIs. It also comes with a user-friendly mobile application that supports offline content viewing. As an administrator, one thing I like most is that it is widely used and a well-supported system from both the community and its customer desk.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

Not exactly a downside but you will still need to invest some dollars to get the best theme or plugins

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing blended learning provides interactive learning content, especially with H5P

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hey Simbarashe,

 ### 47. Moodle: powerful and flexible but have an FTE ready to be an admin

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

If you can imagine it, you can probably do it in Moodle! The availability of thousands of plugins means you can adapt your instance of Moodle to just about any need, and the cost of Moodle (free to self-host) means you can spend money on some of the paid plugins. Moodle supports experiential learning models, repetitive practice models, competency-based assessment, points-based grading, learner-centered adaptive teaching, and more. Assessment mechansims include reflective journals, quizzes with dozens of closed- and open-ended question types, discussion forums, shared-knowledge activities (wikis, databases, and glossaries), and multiple, easy-to-integrate plugins from courseware providers and other third parties. Permissions are adaptable at all levels, including highly granular cases. In the U.S., the primary Moodle host (MoodleUS) provides prompt customer support, and works with clients at all levels (from academic adminsitration to engineers).

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

The flexibillity can make standardization hard to achieve, which can be confusing to some learners. Even if your instance is vendor-hosted, you will want at least 1/2 FTE allocated to administer Moodle at your institution.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle allows faculty to more efficiently allocate time so they spend less time grading low-Bloom's assessments and more time engaging students in deeper dialogue and assessment.
Moodle provides ways for faculty members to easily share resources among themselves, and from one semester to another.

**Official Response from Megha Rajan:**

> Thank you for taking the time to review our platform. Your feedback is invaluable. At Moodle, we're on a constant journey to improve our solutions for optimal learning outcomes. To check out the latest Moodle version, simply click the link below

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nellie D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

I like the activities. Ease of use as the administrator

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

That learning curve that teachers face. The need to constantly refer to videos or explanations on how to use it. The layout seems to scare them.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm a teacher educator, so it helps me teach.

**Official Response from Made Kanthicha:**

> Hi Nellie,

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jishma B. | Junior Ecommerce Executive, Luxury Goods & Jewelry, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

Have option to integrate with our digital credential software

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

 ### 50. Powerful and flexible

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Religious Institutions | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Moodle?**

A fresh Moodle installation gives you an easy way to create courses and sign up students. But that is really only the beginning, as Moodle is one of the most powerful and flexible learning management systems out there. Almost everything is configurable, and there are plenty of plugins available to add even more functionality.

**What do you dislike about Moodle?**

As usual, with flexibility comes complexity. If you want to do something outside the box with Moodle, the good news is that you'll almost certainly be able to do it! But you'll have to take the time to learn how Moodle works, first.

**What problems is Moodle solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Moodle has great multi-langugage support, which has been lacking in other solutions we've tried. We also like how many options there are for student account creation. The option to do things in bulk (like create student accounts or enroll students in classes)with .csv uploads can save a lot of time. Support for custom roles and permissions enables us to allow employees, teachers and admins access to the things they need without giving them the keys to the kingdom.

**Official Response from Megha Rajan:**

> We sincerely appreciate your time and effort in reviewing our platform. Your feedback is of utmost importance to us. At Moodle, we are dedicated to continually enhancing our solutions to achieve the best possible learning outcomes. If you have any technical questions, please do not hesitate to contact Moodle Partners for assistance.
