## MonSpark Reviews
  ### 1. MonSpark is best tool for monitoring apps and websites

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mirzababa A. | Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2025

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

I do like its monitoring tools and discord integration to be honest, we're trying to monitor a minecraft server network that has 3 VDS and website on it, and its hard to manually monitor them. So we're getting updates when its down on staff channels.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

There's nothing yet, but when I tried to find monspark's discord server, the invite links was all expired and i would like to join their community but I was failed.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MonSpark is resolving manually monitoring issues on me.

  ### 2. Lots of monitoring tools - lots features require 'upgrades'

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 24, 2025

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

Easy to setup monitoring for cloud servers.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

Too many features require upgrading the package.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Volume usage on cloud servers.

  ### 3. Great monitoring startup with strong features and a good roadmap, but with some caveats

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2023

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

MonSpark is a great monitoring tool. An impressive amount of checks are very helpful, and a nice free tier to get started with. It offers 1 min intervals on uptime checks and integration with SMS, email, Teams, etc. makes sure you can get your notifications. It offers 2 factor auth and the creation of teams if you have multiple people working on your uptime. I like that there are added features like SEO checks, DNS checks, traceroute, SSL expiration, etc. that really help in making sure my infra work is focused on immediate issues as well a proactive notifications (like when an SSL cert is going to expire vs after it already has). I'm really looking forward to a number of their roadmap items like URL checking.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

Some things to be aware of with MonSpark is that it is a startup and as such has some limitations from some of the more established players. In particular they currently only run their checks from Europe. There is a selection area where you can pick a recgion to check from but the only option (as of the writing of this review) is Europe. If you only have one site where you serve content, that's probably fine, if you are running a multinational business where you have servers serving customers in multiple Geos then this can create a blindspot to other regions availability. Likewise the ability to monitor for changes in a website (content, used technology, etc.) is great but the geo restriction means if you want to do something like monitor the prices on a webpage (say of a competitor) you are only monitoring what they show in the EU (prices in Euros and many times companies change prices in different regions differently depending on competition, regulation and demand).

Additionally, There are a number of "Beta" features which look very promising (I'm really looking forward to them) but "beta" actually means "coming soon" so you can't actually Beta those features. I'm used to beta meaning that it's not production ready and can have bugs in it, not that it's not available.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MonSpark solves several business challenges for my work:
1) Monitoring site uptime
2) Monitoring changes to my, and competitor's websites
3) Ensuring there haven't been networking changes I'm not aware of (this covers multiple things including DNS entries, page load time, traceroute paths, ports that are open, etc.)
4) Ensuring that unexpected changes haven't happened to my websites (checking content, look, SEO, included technologies, and I'm looking forward to the upcoming URLs feature)
3) Tracking price changes (this is more personal in some cases but I like to watch when something I'm interested in goes on sale without constantly going to the website of the company)

  ### 4. Monspark works!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Goods | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2023

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

I really enjoy using MonSpark because it's like having a smart friend that watches over your website all the time. It’s super easy to start using it; just type in your website's address and it begins to watch over it right away. If something goes wrong, like your website stops working or something isn’t safe, MonSpark quickly sends you a message.
I don't really use it much other than when I get an alert. It is pretty hands off.
Easy ti implement & integrate also.
The support is decent but nothing to gush over.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

MonSpark has so many tools and options that it can be a bit too much to handle sometimes, especially if you’re not used to this kind of thing.
The support is decent but not amazing.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They let you make a special page that tells you if everything on your website is working fine or if there’s a problem.
Uptime Monitoring.
SSL Certificate Monitoring.
Ping Monitoring.

  ### 5. Monitoring Tool with a Wide Feature Set

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2024

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

MonSpark lets us get most of our monitors in to one location and consolidate a number web monitoring tools in to one place.

The alerting and escalation policies are great and let us taylor alerts to IT vs Marketing, etc.

The configuration is very straight forward and the default settings make a lot of sense - we rarely need to tweak them.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

It doesn't quite cover everything - for instance TLS monitoring doesn't cover MTA-TLS, etc., so whilst we've consolidated a lot it's just not there to cover everything.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility in to system status that spans teams - technical, resposne, marketing, etc. and reduces the number of dashboard and alerting tools we need to manage.

  ### 6. My review with MonSpark

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

Its a bit difficult to setup. Its a alot of work to setup good.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hacking, offline, every website that doesnt work gives low ratings to customers and trust of customers

  ### 9. Almost there - a promising monitoring app

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Don C. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2022

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

Things I like:

- a good amount of monitors

- the status pages

- notification options (SMS, email, call) - but I hope I can use my own Twilio account, I haven't got to look into details yet.

- excellent design of the dashboard and interface

Things I'd like to see:

- A better way to manage monitors (turn on/off) per each domain (website address). Instead of adding them one at a time and mixing them in a long, un-browsable list.

- Grouping websites by custom tags/folders/clients can further improve this... It would make it easy to manage and browse the monitored websites. A good example is to look at the way ManageWP does it.

- being able to schedule reports

- I want to be able to click on a website and see all the related monitors and historical graphs, send reports, assign tags/clients, and dig down and track downtimes & issues... I like how we can filter the down monitors currently in the main dashboard. Similarly, we could filter historical data.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

- issues with some monitors: sitemaps don't work at all as the monitors appear down. I had whitelisted the IPs in Cloudflare, no change.

- text and screenshot monitoring, monitors go down. The text did work, at least; it sent a notification on a price change. But at this very moment, it shows being down. I like having the details shown in the email; it does not require following a link and checking the webpage to see what changed.

- the current method of adding notification emails is per each monitor. However, I do not like to have to enter and reenter emails for clients and hunt for all the different monitors used on their websites...

- no US/ Canada server locations at this point

- limited integrations, would like more options besides Zappier Syncspider, webhooks

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently, it can help monitor website availability, track Lighthouse performance over time, domain and SSL expiration, and monitor text/screenshot changes on websites (ie, competition or just price changes on certain websites...). I like the notification options, Although the inbox can get full quickly. I'd like certain emails to be sent directly to the client, especially domain expiration notices. Text/screenshot monitoring are good monitors that would make sense to email the client or just the client. But that can apply to all monitors. And that should be managed in one place, with all options accessible per each domain (using toggles, selection dropdown... as much as possible. I'd be willing to test out and offer more clarification on these improvements...

The status pages and email notifications are the ways to offer a noticeable value to clients as an Agency. I'd just like to be able to manage the monitors/websites/clients in a more organized and seamless way.

  ### 10. MonSpark Review: Reliable Web Application Monitoring Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ernesto M. | CEO / Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

What I like best about MonSpark is the ability to monitor multiple web applications on one dashboard, which makes it easy to keep track of everything in one place. The integrations with Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Zapier also make it simple to get notifications in the channels I’m already using.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

However, one downside of MonSpark is that it can be a bit expensive compared to some other monitoring tools on the market. Additionally, while the customizable status pages are a great feature, they can be a bit complicated to set up and customize.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MonSpark can help businesses solve several problems related to web application monitoring. By using MonSpark, businesses can ensure the availability and performance of their web applications, and receive real-time notifications of any issues that may arise. This allows businesses to quickly address and resolve any problems before they impact customers or revenue.

  ### 11. A great way to keep an eye on things

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sven Erik L. | CEO and Web consultant, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2023

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

Monspark allows me to customize my experience to suit my specific needs, providing a comprehensive overview of the uptime of all my websites. It’s easy to use, with a simple interface allowing me to quickly access detailed information on my websites' performance. The dashboard also allows me to set thresholds for alert notifications, so I can be alerted if a website goes down or starts to experience issues. With detailed analytics, I can track the performance of my websites over time, allowing me to identify potential problems and address them quickly.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

Nothing to dislike, really. I'm just looking forward to seeing new features down the line! If Monspark could integrate with WordPress (like keep an eye on updates needed), that would be amazing - but I know that is probably beside the scope of their target audience.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When a website goes down, it is nice to be alerted before visitors notice. Not having to regularly check all my sites myself helps me save a lot of time - which I can use for more important things.

**What do you like best about MonSpark?**

I appreciate Monspark's Uptime monitor and Text Monitor for their respective abilities. The Uptime monitor allows me to share links to display the uptime status and send notification emails. The Text Monitor is useful for being aware of changes on my and competitors' websites, which is beneficial for my digital marketing needs.

**What do you dislike about MonSpark?**

The monitoring still has issues, such as false warnings and lack of precision.

**What problems is MonSpark solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MonSpark's lighthouse audits are an invaluable asset, enabling me to quickly evaluate the performance of my website. The custom integrations are also a great benefit, allowing me to track any changes in metrics in my own software.
