## About Monotone
monotone is a free distributed version control system. It provides a simple, single-file transactional version store, with fully disconnected operation and an efficient peer-to-peer synchronization protocol. It understands history-sensitive merging, lightweight branches, integrated code review and 3rd party testing.

**What do you like best about Monotone?**

The environment is perfect mono immersion. 

**What do you dislike about Monotone?**

Although it looks a lot like VS it has some differences in organisation that slowed my development flow. 

**Recommendations to others considering Monotone:**

Go for it! it is built with open source development in Mono in mind. 

**What problems is Monotone solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to learn the Mono/C# library. I rewrote an app that was written in VisualStudio.
