It also makes it easy for developers to port .NET applications created with Visual Studio to Linux and Mac OS X maintaining a single code base for all platforms. ## Monodevelop Reviews ### 1. monodevelop crashes a lot that's why it is very unlikely for me to suggest someone . **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** ghazanfar a. | Game Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 16, 2020 **What do you like best about Monodevelop?** faster then other compilers, easy to use. **What do you dislike about Monodevelop?** only one problem with monodevelop that it crashes a lot. which is kind of irritating . **Recommendations to others considering Monodevelop:** well it is a great tool for beginners to use . because it does not cost much in size and load. if you could just fix the random crashes it will become the best tool to develop your project or product in. **What problems is Monodevelop solving and how is that benefiting you?** i am a game developer and work on unity , monodevelop used to come with unity but not anymore . and i don't use it anymore simply because VS is way better .. slower but still better. ### 2. Intellisense is often broken and doesn't show nearly enough options as other more fully featured IDEs. Code syntax errors are often not shown/highlighted until building the project. and **Recommendations to others considering Monodevelop:** Use as new of a version as possible. Older versions are severely lacking in features. **What problems is Monodevelop solving and how is that benefiting you?** Game Development ### 3. Method and syntax auto-completion. **What do you dislike about Monodevelop?** Slow and annoying performance. Synchronization with Unity leaves less to be desired. **Recommendations to others considering Monodevelop:** You might want to try other editors. I use Sublime Text 2, since where it lacks (autocompletion) it gives back (fast and responsive). **What problems is Monodevelop solving and how is that benefiting you?** Making quick sets of code for Unity projects.
