## Monitask Reviews
 ### 1. Automated Proof of Work and Live Dashboards Bring Clarity to Labor Allocation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob W. | Operation Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

At Marukai, we face the challenge of a high-volume retail business. As such, we need precision in labor allocation. What I like best about Monitask is the automated proof of work and the live dashboard. As an Operations Manager, it is vital to have a pulse on the administrative and logistics workforce who are supporting the back-end of our brick-and-mortar business. The live dashboard allows me to view the bandwidth of different departments at a glance without needing to ask the teams to send me a report. It adds a level of transparency to the corporate and back-end workflows that were previously absent.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

In a grocery and retail environment, a lot of our processes are away from the keyboard, such as inventory audits or visual inspections. I would like to see some enhancements to the mobile tracking and geofencing. Currently, if a support lead is on-the-go visiting our various California-based stores, it would be a little harder to track this time on the desktop client. Also, I would like to see some enhancements to the reporting filter for large teams. I think it would be beneficial to be able to create even more custom retail-specific tags for various store support teams.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitask solves the problem of the accountability gap for our remote and hybrid support staff. Before using Monitask, it was difficult for us to accurately verify hours for our non-store-front employees. Monitask has benefited me because it helps me provide data that ensures the accuracy of our payroll and our compliance with labor laws. Monitask has also helped us identify the problem of process lag in our central kitchen and logistics planning. By tracking how our support staff was spending their time on paperwork and planning, we were able to improve our digital processes. Monitask has ultimately helped us maximize our labor ROI while maintaining our high standards for operations, which are the hallmark of our business at Marukai.

 ### 2. Real-Time, Data-Driven Sales Insights That Boost Ownership.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason J. | Sales Director, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

At Plaid, our values include a customer-first and high-ownership approach. What I like best about Monitask is its ability to enable this sense of ownership through its objective, data-driven insights into our sales processes. As a Sales Director, it is my job to make sure our Account Executives are spending time on high-leverage activities such as complex deal coaching and strategic retail account planning, and not simply treading water on administrative tasks. The Live Dashboard gives me the ability to identify bottlenecks in our sales performance around the world in real-time, so we can meet our expansion goals without introducing unnecessary complexity.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Although it’s a great product for overall productivity, I would have liked to see more native integrations with fintech CRM workflows. In our space, a salesperson may spend hours engaging in a deep dive tech review or security audit with a retail partner. Monitask may sometimes mark this as low activity if there isn’t constant keyboard activity. I would have liked to see an "Impact Mode" where we can mark areas of deep work or strategic consultation so that it doesn’t affect the overall productivity score. Also, a more API-first approach to custom reporting would have been more in line with Plaid’s own developer-centric DNA.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitask is solving the scalability of trust problem in a distributed and high-growth company. We are growing very rapidly in the retail and SMB business, and I simply can't be in every meeting and every region. Monitask helps me because it gives me the system as the solution. It has replaced the need for status updates with an audit trail. This has helped us immensely in forecasting, because I can actually see the time-on-task for our top opportunities, and I have a much clearer understanding of our pipeline and the cost-to-close for our big retail infrastructure deals.

 ### 3. Transparency-First Monitoring with Powerful Screenshot Proof of Work.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wendy O. | Director of Marketing, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

As the Director of Marketing for HATCH Collective, I lead a team of creative strategists, content creatives, and digital marketers who are redefining the maternity space. My favorite part of Monitask is the focus on transparency rather than surveillance. We are a brand that is deeply rooted in community and authenticity, and Monitask helps facilitate this value by giving me an in-depth look into my team without feeling overly intrusive. Additionally, the screenshot verification is an excellent proof of work tool, allowing me to view the visual evolution of campaigns, starting with a mood board and ending with our social content, in real-time, to ensure consistency in brand across all our legacy store brands such as Motherhood Maternity and A Pea in the Pod.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Perhaps the level of detail in the creative deep work reports could be improved. A marketing team member might spend two hours away from their keyboard brainstorming a new content series for our BABE platform or arranging a call with medical experts. Monitask might occasionally tag this as minimal productivity and idle hours. A feature that accommodates different labels for these creative sprints would be fantastic, as it would eliminate any penalty for these periods in the productivity reports. Lastly, it would be great to see a more visual, modern dashboard that matches the style and sophistication of the HATCH brand.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Monitask is the solution to the ‘fragmentation of operations' we have faced due to managing multiple brands under one wing. For the past year or so since we acquired multiple legacy retailers, we have had to find a way to standardize our own productivity statistics. Monitask is significant to me because it offers measurable figures of resources. For instance, I can finally determine exactly how many hours of time are dedicated to each of our sub-brands. This is huge for us since it replaced the ‘guesswork’ of how we were manually tracking our hours and campaign forecasting. Now my team gets to focus on the mission of celebrating women through motherhood.

 ### 4. Real Time Team Transparency with Lightweight Continuous Monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christian H. | Regional Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

As a Regional Manager for Vanta, my world revolves around the concept of continuous monitoring not just for our customers' compliance, but for our internal operational efficiency as well. What I like best about Monitask is its ability to live up to this philosophy. It gives me a real-time, transparent view into what's going on with my distributed team. The screenshot verification feature is also amazing; I can see the progress of our regional retail outreach and account management without micromanaging. It's incredibly lightweight, which is essential for us because we're already running a crazy stack of security and GRC Governance, Risk, and Compliance tools.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The depth of reporting for regional oversight could be better. I can view productivity on an individual basis, but I would love more aggregate views that allow me to compare different sub-teams or territory cohorts directly within the app's UI. Currently, I have to export much of the data to build the regional performance summaries that I then report out to our executive sponsors. I would also say that the UI could be more modern and "agentic" for our tastes at Vanta. A more streamlined web-based experience would be a huge plus for our high-level managers.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems being solved by Monitask include the accountability at scale issue. As a growing company, we have a tendency to move very quickly. "Bias for action" is actually one of our core principles as a company. Monitask is helping me because it allows me to get the data I need to prove that action is actually being taken. It has eliminated guesswork from our ability to manage our remote workforce. If we need to identify issues in our sales or support pipeline, we can do so instantly based on trends. It's also been a huge win from a billing perspective because, if we need to utilize contractors for specific projects in a region, we have a clear audit trail of exactly what those contractors have been working on, which aligns perfectly with our company mission of proving trust.

 ### 5. Moves Product Debates From Opinion To Data-Driven Fact

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andy P. | Product Manager, Information Technology and Services, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

When you work in product management for a data-intensive company, it’s all about prioritization. Striking this balance between "keeping the lights on" and new feature development was my greatest challenge. Monitask provided me with the numbers to be able to do that. I use it to see how my team’s time is spent across core responsibilities. For instance, I create projects for “Platform Reliability,” “Client-Specific Data Requests,” and “Q3 Product Roadmap.” When we saw the 40% of our time on sprint being eaten away by ad-hoc data investigations it was epiphany -- no longer a gut feel but a measure. This enabled me to lobby for a dedicated data support position. The clean, project-based reports are what I use in QBRs to show exactly how engineering investment is aligned with strategic goals.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Adding any form of tracking to a high-autonomy engineering team needs thoughtful change management. The first reaction was that it indicated a lack of faith in their expertise. We solved this problem by treating the data as completely transparent to the squad and only ever using it to improve systemic processes, never for individual performance assessment. On a technological level, the tool does have issues with context. If a developer is pair-programming, reading API documentation or drawing a system architecture in whiteboarded scribble inside a whiteboard app, that valuable time isn’t all necessarily recorded accurately as “productive.” We have to use the manual notes feature a lot, learn to flag such periods.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses the painful issue of vague resource planning within a product team. In the past, argument over tech debt, bug fixes and new features were won by whoever shouted the loudest. Now, we have a factual basis. There is an added benefit of the two above, which is improved strategic alignment and team advocacy. Because I can illustrate to management why a whole full sprint of refactoring is essential… Because I can point on accumulating “drag” it results in for each new feature after. For the team, it confirms their experience — when they say something takes longer than expected, we have the numbers to make those adjustments. It makes subjective fatigue into an objective business case.

 ### 6. For the Little Guy, This Resolved the ‘What Does Marketing Really Do?’ Debate

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emma M. | Marketing Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

As one of the marketing department at a sports tech start-up that was growing rapidly, I was constantly asked what value freelancers were bringing to table and why my time and our tiny budget should go towards them. It's been an ugly ride. I implemented Monitask nine months ago because I was personally desperate to vindicate my team's output. But what’s actually been most useful isn’t the stealth mode or screenshots it's the dead-simple ability to track project time. For example, I create projects for things such as “Q1 Brand Awareness Campaign” or “Website Redesign.” My freelance writer logs into the “Blog Content” task, and I check into “Social Media Graphics.” At the end of the week, I get to hand our CEO a report: "Here's 40 hours of marketing effort and assets." It has transformed subjective feeling-based weekly updates into objective show-and-tell. I open up the dashboard every morning with my coffee to plan out my day and see how we’re doing with freelancers without having sent one, “how’s it going?” Slack message.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Honestly, this conversation was something I had never anticipated to do and it is really awkward to ask the only freelance video-editor I could afford to install time-tracker on my project. I was left with no alternative but to submit his work in order to render it as the sole guarantee for me to boost his rate for the next project. He was open to it, but it felt like a business deal. When speaking about tech-y things, I go a little nuts about app classification. If you are stuck deep in thought staring at the canvas Monitask will sometimes see idle time. Currently, we are creating our designs in Figma. I have taken to using the “manual activity” note with things like “Wireframing.” But I wish it were smarter about our design tool.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved two massive problems for a company like ours, with little resources: justifying marketing spend and getting visibility on remote work. Before, I used to have to fight for the value of my own department all the time.’ Now, I have data. At a time when we were discussing whether to hire an SEO expert part-time vs a designer, Monitask reporting proved that 60% of my bandwidth was going into the content creation tasks, and therefore we needed to go with SEO. It builds trust in my freelance relationships. They are logging time, I’m approving it instantly and they’re getting paid sooner. No more invoicing guesswork. It has made my remote work feel more legitimate and given me enough ammo to argue for what my team needs in a way people can’t ignore. What do you use Monitask for?

 ### 7. Receipts to Real Data: How We Audit Our Retail Marketing Spend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Catie G. | Shopper Marketing Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

In shopper marketing, a big part of my budget is spent on third-party creatives and field agents who do our in-store displays and demos. I’ve got a job to do in proving that spend drives lift.” Prior to Monitask, I received invoices and prayed that the hours were accumulated. Now, I get data. I use it exclusively for following the freelancers who design our point-of-sale materials and the agencies that report on store conditions. The project-tracking capability brings me the ability to make a project titled “Whole Foods Summer 2024 Launch” and have every hour logged against it, whether I was doing graphic design, vendor management or reporting. The auto screenshots – (we use a “blurred” setting) are like my sanity check that work is actually taking place on our assets, not just being billed. It has taken a form of subjective vendor opinion and turned it into an objective performance review.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Onboarding external partners is clunky. You can’t convince a freelancer to install invasive, ubiquitous monitoring equipment without significant fine print and a lot of very uncomfortable explanation. We position it as a tool that benefits them — to automate their time tracking for our invoices, and to get paid quickly and fully for all the work they do. It works but it’s an extra step. Also, the reporting, while excellent, wasn’t designed for marketing. I frequently have to download CSVs, and then splice the data with my own sales lift numbers in Sheets to show real ROI. I wish there were a more streamlined way to relate tracked time to campaign results.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As well, it solves a perennial marketing problem which is how do you discern your black box external spend? For every dollar I spend in a retail chain program, for the first time I will know how many hours of partner thadollar t bought. You can see there 2 BIG (I reaaaaaaaaaaally mean big) the reasons I enjoy for it: Budget Defense and Negotiation. I could sketch ideas and show how we had already spent 25% more on design than we were expecting (3 months ago), so I was then able to lobby my director for an increased project budget. Agency Accountability. Who cares, I can see how yothat u may start to get suspicous if you're store is getting billed 10 hours under "store audits" but virtually no entries show up for work done. Which has led to more open discussions, yes, but also better collaborations because you’ve got the numbers right there.

 ### 8. At Last, I Can Now See What My Field Team Doing When They Are Not At Store

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayrre R. | Sales Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

Listen, my team is on the ground 90% of the time. There was nothing I could do about this, other than observe and speculate about what happened between their a.m. check-in and after-hours email, prior to Monitask. Did they really spend three hours at the store, or was there two hours of driving and an hour-long “planning” coffee break? I have the mobile app on my phone to look at the dashboard. GPS location combined with the activity log is the killer feature for me. What I can see is the rep was at a Target store from 10AM to 12 PM and their device reflected active work in your sales app during that time. It validates their effort. Mostly, they use the basic “time tracking” feature — when they enter a store, they clock in to a task called “store visit,” then clock out on their way out. It makes people lie a little less, if Iʼm honest about it, exaggerated time reporting is down by around 30 per cent.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

This was by far and away the biggest issue – and still is. The battery drain on their phones. The app that runs GPS and tracking in the background sucks it dry by midafternoon if they’re not careful. I’ve had reps who are perfectly understandably frustrated by that. And, god knows, among the big box stores with terrible cell service, sometimes their data are lagging or don’t sync until they’re back in the car. I’ve had to make a rule that they need a note added manually if the visit looks too short because, otherwise, it makes them look like they ditched early when the store manager wasn’t available! It’s not a fire-and-forget tool; you need a little bit of common sense and follow-up.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s solving the issue of accountability and truthfulness in field sales. You are managing people you literally never see in my world. The benefit is twofold. First, it helps us pay correctly for the real work done in our store (that has limited our labor budget). It also helps me coach, to an even greater extent. So if I see a rep that has long “active” periods and low merchandising results, I can dig in. Perhaps they’re mired in backstock and would like assistance or maybe it’s their process that’s the problem. Before, all I had seen was the crappy end product. “Now I can see some of the workflow that leads to it, which allows me to help them instead of just blaming them.

 ### 9. From Gut Feeling to Data: How We Use It to Protect Developer Flow, Not Police It

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tom B. | Founder and CTO, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

My biggest struggle as a founder and CTO was trying to figure out how my engineering team spent their time in reality compared to what we had planned for them in Jira. I pull up Monitask at my desk to take an aggregate view of engineering bandwidth. I’m not trying to read people’s code over their shoulders. But it’s the pattern recognition that I appreciate. I can glance at the dashboard, see when the whole (backend) team is fractured with “active” time (a suggestion there’s been too many interruptions, or meetings), compared to long blocks of deep focus time and know if I should intervene in some way. This data has been especially crucial in setting, and enforcing our “no-meeting Wednesday” rule. The project tracking is also key; we tag time to broad initiatives like “Platform Scalability”, which allows us to answer (in retrospect) how many engineering hours did it take to deliver a major tech investment.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Let’s be honest: you cannot mandate this to an engineering culture. The initial pushback was significant. Developers considered it reductive, and said it did not reflect the value of research, design thinking or debugging. We had to adapt our use. We placed senior engineers specially on the spotless list and developed a firm rule that CA should never be used for single individual performance criticism. Wrong, we use that to debug process at the team level. Technically, it is often Online mis-categorising developer essentials. You would perhaps have to manually re-categorize time spend in terminal or Docker, or a custom IDE. It’s a blunt yardstick for nuanced creative work.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the “engineering black box” problem that a lot of non-technical founders and stakeholders experience. Prior to Monitask, I could only report on outputs (features shipped). Well, I can now express the input (concentrated engineering hours). This has two big benefits: Inside the firm, it creates a culture of respect for deep work. I can actually see that some of the quick fixes are taking far too long, prompting us to send in resources for technical debt. Outward-facing, investor updates are another area where I can show how much of our engineering capacity is being allocated to new features vs. maintenance work, tech debt etc., which lends massive credibility.

 ### 10. Cuts the Hype Tangible Proof for a Remote AdTech Shop

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gavin D. | B2B Marketer / Product Evangelist / AdTech Influencer / Content Jockey / Speaker / Shredder / David Bowie Imitator, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

In adtech we all talk about data, transparency and trust but we couldn’t look at ourselves in the mirror. Monitask changed that. I personally use it to oversee a global team of marketers and evangelists. What I love about it is that it gives me ammo, not anxiety. When I’m spinning up a deck for a skeptical enterprise CMO, I can show now man hours applied to their campaign strategy instead of fluffy deliverables. The hidden layer and strong-activity detection are for us non-negotiable in fraud detection as we want to be sure about our data. The automated weekly productivity digest it emails me is a work of art I can identify bottlenecks (hello revision tools ad infinitum) and cheer for high-quality deep work without micromanaging.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Now can we face it, no one wants to see us? And insinuating this took the dexterity of a Bowie lyric. We called it a "work validation tool" & an excuse to protect scope creep from our teams, and show how they spent their time. Still, there was grumbling. The interface is crude, though it’s not winning any design awards there’s a bit of a utilitarian vibe next to the shiny analytics platforms we’re used to pitching. Also, it sometimes misinterprets activity. It may flag my content guy for doing competitive research on Twitter/X, building a deck in Canva at any given time as unproductive when they start something. You're always fine-tuning the “productive vs counterproductive” list of sites

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It sought to solve two core problems: shadow productivity in a remote-first world, the lack of client verifiable data. We are living in a high-trust but high-stakes compliance universe. The benefit is twofold. It’s also internally, so it took team conversations from “how busy are you? to “how do we make your workflow more efficient?” Externally, it is a tool for our sales process. “We can tell prospects confidently: ‘We actually use monitoring tech internally too — all of it, really, to make sure none of our teams have anything less than the highest level of efficiency and safety,’” which is a strong narrative in fraud-focused conversations. It turns a cost center into an asset on credit

 ### 11. Finally Real Data To Charge Clients And Manage Remote Teams

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jose R. | National Accounts Manager | Strategic Partnerships & Business Growth, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

What I actually loved about it was that it gave us proof of work by machine. Operating a marketing agency out of our office in Austin, the number one thing we always found challenging was rationalizing hours spent to clients on retainer models. My team is completely remote, spread across four states, so I'd been going on trust and the manual timesheets that we always suspected were incomplete. Now, I can bring up this perfectly clear timeline (complete with screenshots occasionally ours are in “blurry mode” for privacy) on my dashboard here to show a client precisely where the time went on their campaign. It has transformed tortuous, defensive conversations into simple information reviews if you’re asking a company about what it does to meet its hiring targets on race. Project timers also went down well with our team, and they’ll even use them to record time on a specific client project directly from their own desktop; it’s certainly significantly improved our invoicing. We rely on it daily, since it runs quietly in the background, and would wholesale change our internal chatting from "are you working? to “what can we do to make your workflow more efficient?” which is a way more productive conversation for an art team.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The first rollout was rocky, I won’t lie. I felt the palpable angst coming from my team, even from my perch in management. We had a lot of meetings, and some, I’ll be honest, were uncomfortable to convey that this was really more about capturing all their hard work for billing and project scoping than about watching them every single second. It took about a solid month for people to get used and acclimated,” he said, “and realize it’s a tool as opposed to big brother watching. Also, in the field, software can fail to interpret creative activity. As an example, if a designer were spending an hour researching visual trends on Pinterest or a writer were using some niche grammar tool in their browser, you might flag that as “unproductive.” I have to keep fiddling with those app settings every few months when we switch to new creative and research tools, which is a small administrative burden (on me).

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solved our two-headed monster of inaccurate time tracking for client projects, and zero insight on how our remote team’s days were constructed. We put it in place mostly to prevent revenue leaks as a result of work not being billed, and to get away from heavy micromanagement. The immediate gain for me, in operations, has been about a 15% increase in our profitability on fixed price based work now that we register all the time and can estimate more accurately going forward. For the team, however, there’s a more important benefit: I can now notice when someone is habitually working late because one given task or clients is just an inefficient draining pain in the ass. So instead of saying to myself that those are people who should be commended for their “dedication,” I can put figures around it and do something like shortening the process or redistributing work. It has moved us out of assumptions and best guesses to useful, data-informed interventions.

 ### 12. It's not just a tracker, it's the back bone of my operations for payroll and service standard.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adel C. | Food And Beverage Operations Manager Hotels | Sales, Multitasking, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

I mean, in hotels, the payroll is your biggest cost after the food. My problem was always: How do I know whether that cost is working for me? With Monitask, I know. The kitchen and banquet service teams I manage log tasks on the tablets we have stationed throughout – “Wedding Prep: Bella Vista Room,” “AM Kitchen Line Setup,” “Inventory Count: Beverage.” The geofence also means no more buddy punching the clock-in is automatic when they hit the hotel property. Best of all, however, are the timed screenshots. I don’t watch them live, but I could use them to find out what’s going on in a big event setup. It showed me one time that a setup crew was waiting 45 minutes for a shipment of linen which was the vendor’s fault, not my staff slacking. That kind of proof is gold.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The reporting for tips and gratuity tracking is not there. And my servers, they are tip waged. I need to pull this Monitask hours and manually add it with Prilly's tip from our POS. If it was able to import that or have a way of allocating which tip pools get assigned based on the logged hours between zones (bar vs floor) then it would save me half a day every two weeks.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Two huge problems. For one, payroll precision and overtime management. In the past, supervisors recorded hours on paper. Mistakes happened, arguments happened. Now, the data is just there. I’d encountered the banquet disintegration following every event, always dragging on 30 minutes too long. We tweaked the process, added someone else to shift end and saved hundreds in OT per month.

Second, service on peak times. I was doing our New Year’s Eve Gala and saw on the live dashboard that one bar station was being logged as active, but in main floor service was idle. I got on the radio and told the supervisor to move two people from bar back-up to floor before the guests even realized there was a hiccup. It allows me to be more proactive, rather than reactive with complaints down the line. “What you get, for me and my peace of mind, is worth more than the subscription.” I can finally see what I’m spending my money on.

 ### 13. Our Scaling E-Commerce Effectively for High Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine G. | E-commerce Product Manager, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

And in order to scale profitably, I need granular visibility into the effort cost behind every e-commerce function. Monitask delivers that data. We measure time at a granular level: “Customer Service Ticket Resolution,” “SEO Keyword Research per Product Category,” “Influencer Partnership Management.” The project dashboards update me in real time where our resources are going. It’s not about watching people; it’s about perfecting a business system. 2) The ability to create 'client style reports' for our own 'internal business reviews' that allow you to further bring your client's into your strategy is invaluable.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The platform's analytics are backward-looking. I need predictive insights. For example, if minutes spent on “Returns Processing” tick upward as sales volume does, it should be able to predict when we will need more customer service help not just alerting me to the problem once it has occurred.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses the resource allocation fore growth head on. We find that “Product Photography & Editing” was our one ever-consuming category Analysis. That data supported the investment in new tool and process, which ultimately helped reduce the per-product time by 60 percent. It also gives you solid numbers to request for budgets and headcounts. For instance, when I was ready to bring on a full-time content manager, I showed my Monitask reports that demonstrated 30 hours were being siphoned away from existing positions each week for content tasks – the business case couldn’t be un-seen. It is the ticket that gives us the freedom to scale with confidence, not guesswork.

 ### 14. Monitask: The Ultimate Command Center for Sneaker Launches

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura M. | Retail Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

In the sneaker trade, launch days usually amount to well-managed chaos. Monitask is my command center. We assign and track tasks in real-time with store tablets: "Queue Management for Yeezy Drop," "Social Media Live Coverage," or "Post-Drop Inventory Count." The geofencing means clock-in/out is automatic, and the live dashboard tells me if tasks are slipping behind schedule by the minute throughout the day. The screen hot history (with its customers’ faces blurred) is the ideal way to review launch execution, and resolve any disputes about what happened during peak frenzy. The crude "Active/Idle" signal for each employee lets me shuffle people from hot zones in real time.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

Your reporting isn’t specific enough to our own retail KPIs. As someone who has enjoyed much of that, the next time we take a massive hit I want to see a report that automatically ties: Staff time spent on 'Customer Verification' Work items completed and; 10 hours of 'Line Management' Incident reports entered based on those definitions. For the moment, I need to cross-match Monitask data with our POS system manually in order to see that analysis.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It addresses the challenges of operational control during high-blemish periods and post-event labor analysis in a post-hype retail world.

Launch-Day Execution Prior to Monitask, launch days were working with walkie talkies and hoping for the best. For our“Travis Scott Collab” drop, I had two staff focus on pure “Social Media Updates” for the entire 3 hours through Monitask—that led to an insane 200% increase in online engagement. I was also able to check out that line security personnel were walking along constantly as I waited was continually redcuing risk.

Analysis of Labor Cost/Income: Our margins are slim. By looking at time logs, I determined we were actually overstaffing for post launch cleanup by 10 hours per event. We shifted those hours to prelaunch logistics prep and customer service training. That data-driven switch led to improved launch day customer satisfaction scores and ensured we were only spending money in the places that made direct contributions to location profitability.

 ### 15. If you have a distributed team (or one that does client facing work) it is not negotiable

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra D. | Growth Marketing & Client Enablement Manager, Computer Software, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

As a manager of marketing operations and client onboarding at a global software dev shop, I need to have visibility into how my distributed team is spending their time. Monitask provides me with precisely that without the friction. The project-associated automated time tracking (e.g., campaign “BIT Tech Project Platform Launch” in progress or onboarding of “Healthcare Client API Integration”) has me not worried about chasing timesheets around. The activity levels and screenshot proof (which is blurred out to ensure privacy) give a clear sense of engagement which is important when interacting between our marketing creatives in Europe & technical enablement specialists in Latin America. I use the weekly productivity reports as my guiding tool to steer meetings.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

It could be smarter for cross-functional teams. I oversee both marketers, where productivity can mean design time in Figma, and technical enablement, where it’s time in documentation portals. Monitask's reporting feature does not allow for easy side-by-side comparisons of these distinct productivity patterns, nor does it let you create custom "focus score" dashboards per “role”. I often export to Excel to create those views on my own.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Client-facing accountability and internal resource planning and I Think these are Two big issues:

We generally have fixed-scope marketing or enablement engagements. With Monitask, I'm able to produce a precise report on the number of hours spent on, for example, ""Technical Documentation - Client X."" We recently did this to prove a 20% scope increase made sense on a complex onboarding with supporting data. “It took the guessing out of capacity planning. Now I can see that creating content for a campaign takes 3 times as long as we budgeted, or that my new hire has been buried in low-value work. This data-based method of estimating has increased the accuracy by about 30% and helps me fight for headcount or tooling with hard proof.

 ### 16. Essential Tool for Effortless IT Time Tracking and Audit Readiness

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex A. | IT Support Specialist, Information Technology and Services, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 16, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

I’m an IT support specialist at Anthropic and I’m responsible for managing internal security alerts, as well as servicing employee tech requests. Monitask is a lifesaver for us as a team. We have it set up to automatically begin tracking when we log onto our IT service portal, ServiceNow. It means that every minute you spend working on a phishing alert diagnosis, troubleshooting a VPN problem for a remote researcher or configuring MFA is automatically tracked against a correct ticket ID. With the stealth screenshot (set every 20 minutes), it gives us clear evidence of work for serious security incidents that we require for internal audit. The Daily activity summary provides the real-time load distribution for my manager for better visibility of our team’s load.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The one big gap for us in our IT use case is no integration with our EDR console. The difference here is that when I’m looking into a security event via tools such as CrowdStrike, there’s no record kept of that time unless I manually add it using some kind of placeholder task in Monitask. If we had a direct integration or browser extensions that could see activity in the security admin portals, this would save us time and provide a more conclusive audit trail.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It effectively addresses two significant challenges faced by our IT organization at Anthropic, which are security audit compliance and accurate internal billing.
To comply with standards such as SOC 2, we need to showcase what actions were taken for security incidents and how fast our tCloudeam acted. Before Monitask, employees used to spend hours trying to figure out who was doing what. To conduct an audit, we filter a Monitask report by date and query it, for example “security incident: December”. The evidence one may ask for lies across the timeline and the screenshots.
Our IT department charges other departments to do project work. The Research department approached us for the setup of a custom GPU cluster. We monitored the 85 hours of engineering time taken to set up the GPU cluster using Monitask. The comprehensive report adduced sufficient proof for the internal chargeback.

As a team, we became more accountable and our billing transparent as audit preparation is 75% faster. More than just monitoring, it is our source of truth for the IT being done.

 ### 17. Critical to Monitor Sales Team Productivity and Optimise Client Outreach

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chiara D. | Sales Manager, Retail, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

The automatic time tracking and activity tracking are absolutely key to keeping on top of the remote sales team I manage. We log time spent on the desktop app under headings such as “prospecting for new wholesale accounts,” “following up (with) the Spring ’25 collection” and “managing VIP client orders.” The ability to take a stealth screenshot every 15 minutes makes for an unobtrusive but clear view of the work staff are doing, and weekly reports that break down hours by client/client task make their way into my one-on-ones with each sales rep.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

When sales reps are on the go, we can't use quick task-switching in mobile app. For instance, when a rep is at a trade show and has to track time against multiple client meetings from his phone — it’s too complicated. Also, there could be more customizable fields for reporting on sales-specific things (lead pipeline stages should have more freedom).

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s a solution to the question: “How does my sales team spend time on high-level activities?” Prior to Monitask, we were having no data to prove that reps had been spending the right amount of time on business development vs. account management. Now, I can see that for our “Europa Expansion” project, our team dedicated 120 hours to prospecting and brought in 15 new wholesale accounts. We used that information to redistribute resources and make our sales team 20% more efficient. It also offers irrefutable data for performance reviews and coaching.

 ### 18. Essential for Project Tracking and Audit-Proof Financials

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aruna G. | IS&T Finance Manager, Apparel & Fashion, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

I manage capitalizations for international digital projects as finance lead for IT. We require Monitask’s integration of tracking at the project level with our Jira. My team uses it to verify the hours recorded by developers on the “EU E-commerce Platform Migration” and the “Sustainable Materials API” specific epics. Screenshots and activity logs are automated, providing us with audit-proof evidence to properly capitalize development costs versus expense operational work for our quarterly financials.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

To meet multi-currency project accounting, the reporting needs to automatically align. When I review the budget for the Asia-Pacific rollout of our store systems, I convert and reconcile USD-tracked hours from Monitask with our local-currency budgets in SAP manually, taking a half-day in the monthly close.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves vendor billing ambiguity while addressing the perennial problem of IT project cost overruns. Before Monitask, we (and all agencies) relied on external agency timesheets with no verification. Now, we have objective data to hold partners accountable. For example, the logs received from Monitask during the “Mobile App Redesign” highlighted that during this process, 30% of the billed hours were unproductive. Due to this insight, we were able to renegotiate our contract. Furthermore, the review avoided a hefty cost of £45,000. On the inside, it has brought transparency, a reduction in IT project budget variances by an average 15% each year.

 ### 19. Guarantees responsibility and safeguards margins in a high-profile PR Atmosphere

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie D. | Founder and CEO, Marketing and Advertising, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 07, 2025

**What do you like best about Monitask?**

The ADA stealth mode monitoring and activity logs give us full, non-obtrusive transparency into how our teams are executing time-sensitive PR campaigns, media buys, and communications in crises. It’s a relief knowing that client budgets are being applied to real, concentrated work and effort during these times.

**What do you dislike about Monitask?**

The reporting is great for internal review, but it’s not easily conducive to package up and include in client facing deliverables like campaign wrap reports or media performance audits. The data often need to be transpose manually.

**What problems is Monitask solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a solution for tracking billable hours when they’re the result of unpredictable, frequently reactive labour such as crisis communications and creating press packages. We now have clear data that justifies our retainers, guarantees we get paid for after-hours work, and best places the team where it can make the most impact on any client (particularly important to our non-profit and enterprise clients).
