It sends and tracks texts very efficiently, making it easier to track ongoing conversations. The search function and grouping of contacts is probably my favorite function.

**What do you dislike about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

Adding functionality to send me an email when a text comes in from one of my contacts would be a great addition and add further tracking functionality. That's the only possible addition I could think of.

**What problems is Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to reach students in a way that encourages them to respond is always a good thing. This platform simplifies that communication and makes it more likely a student will respond during working hours.

The ability to schedule messages to go out automatically has been a time saver for us. Campaigns have helped us track response rates & provide data analysis.

Wish that you could look up past text exchanges based on keywords instead of contacts

Mongoose lets us quickly connect with students who would have probably been non-responsive to phone calls and emails. Students reply to texts almost immediately.

Mongoose Cadence has changed how we text our students and how we can directly see the correlation between our campaign results in our numbers.

Downsides I have a few, we have had issues with multiple uploads with the same origin source not being included in the same text.

We have an ongoing challenge of yielding our students through enrollment. Mongoose Cadence has helped bridge that gap with newer generations that prefer text.

**What do you like best about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

We have only been a client for a year, but I have been impressed with the many ways that Mongoose is forward thinking about their product, the market and their customers' needs.  They  really are enthusiastic about their services and their clients.

**What do you dislike about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

I haven't found a real "downside" but the uploading process (of names/numbers) is cumbersome.  I haven't actually used the platform in a few months, but I know that is the one step I don't look forward to doing !

**What problems is Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My CS rep is checking into some other colleges phone/text teams, to determine what the best practices are for thanking donors over the phone.  We are changing our mission this year, and given it's new, my representative was doing some research for me.

**What do you like best about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

Able to reach students where they are at. The reporting features are dynamic and being able to track campaigns helps split them apart from each other for tracking purposes.

**What do you dislike about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

How you have to import records over and over to update custom fields you have created. With the shared inbox, it does provide a consistent number for our office, but it seems mass texts take much longer, which is a negative.

**What problems is Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They do come out with updates to improve the program, but the importing records process needs improvement, as it is tedious. When we have our contacts imported, it does help us to reach students, though.

I use Cadence to keep in contact with my students.  It is a quick way to send or request information.

The downside of using Cadence in my organization is that we all use one email address on our team so everyone can see your texts and responses.

Mongoose Cadence is awesome for outreach that could take a long time. College students respond faster and more often via this texting system. Very worth the flexibility  and time savings you have!

The dashboards and analytics give fantastic insight. The mobile app does everything the desktop does, which allows my team to be on the go.

There's no ability to text international students.

Students today can spot bot messages a mile away. The use of a full phone number allows us to have a higher chance of a returned message.

Not being able to include links, you can add the web address but it is not a link

Working with  Gen Z students is hard to communicate with calls or email, but texting is super easy and students sometimes respond in seconds

Not much I dislike about the platform.  If I had to be picky, I would have to say the number of characters you can send in a text.

I like that mongoose will provide you with the profile of the student while you're texting them. I  know their major, where they're from, and what year they are.

Sometimes the mobile app is slow to work with. Additionally, it's hard to use the mobile app for scheduling text messages or sending really long messages to students.

Mongoose added the out of office feature a few cycles back and that was a huge benefit! It made it so easy to create auto responses for when you might have a delayed response time.

No big complaints so far; I have been using Mongoose for about two years now.  The only issue is that you must add students as a contact to initiate conversation.

**What do you like best about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

The communication from Mongoose to users is excellent. They keep us in the loop. They ask us for feedback and then seem to listen to us! The texting function works reliably and if there are any issues that are coming up or are being observed, there is communication about what is going on. The best part about the communication is that the staff are actually doing research about what works and are letting us know, so we can all get better. Love that.

This may not be an issues with Mongoose Cadence, but an issue with how we have implemented it, but when we send out texts, it is not easy to see which other departments have already sent texts to those students. We have to run an extra process to filter out those instances or use another system (CRM).

Email serves a purpose, as do paper mailings, social media, and calling campaigns, but texting in practical ways is very important to help nudge students toward success and the opportunities they seek.

I like that I am able to have contacts imported from Salesforce automatically and that they are automatically assigned to me.

I don't like that my whole team shares an inbox and there's no easy way to filter notifications on the mobile app or email without using a cumbersome outlook rule that needs to be updated frequently.

Students are more likely to respond to text messages than emails, and I love that the messages create their own note in Salesforce, which saves a lot of documentation time.

The team of support specialists are extremely understanding of our needs and providing solutions that work.  Best thing is the efficiency we have created and being able to reach our students quicker and get more engagement.

**What do you dislike about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

At the moment, only one dislike comes to mind.  We have to import data for each Team.  When all departments have data used across the college, it would be nice to import it once, for all.

**What problems is Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cadence has increased our response rates to and from students.  Have a two-way texting platform has been a game changer.  Up until this time staff would use personal cell phones.  I love how much "bandwidth" it provides.  Imports/exports/reporting/templates/segments/smartmessages/etc.

Cadence is easy to use and customizable. I love the segments, merge fields, and templates! MMS is also a plus!

It's all been great so far! Adding a "master calendar" for planning and tracking text communications across departments might be an interesting upgrade.

Mass texting that looks one-to-one so students actually respond! Less time to send and more responses coming in! They also do a wonderful job sharing texting best practices.

The simplicity. It is such an easy system to navigate, set up and use. Training literally takes minutes.

I would like to see more functionality with Slate. It could be a complete gamechanger

I like the ability to be able to respond to multiple individuals at one time.

I don't know if this would be a downside, but I can use my phone just as quickly. I guess the issue is security and accountability and an iphone can't always give that.

It is a simple and effective texting tool that is intuitive use, and the company continually improves its features.

I don't have any major downsides to report.  We do a lot of finely targeted marketing, so maybe have more user-defined fields in contacts would be helpful.

It is helping us engage our alumni and donor population for whom we are not able to connect with in other ways.

Mongoose is great for sending mass text messages and the ability to schedule a message for a specific group of people at the time that I need for it to be sent.

I wish there more options of how to send messages. I also wish there was a way to indicate what person received what message.

Cadence is highly user-friendly.  It takes no time at all to learn the system.  And the tech support is exceptional.

**What do you dislike about Mongoose Conversation Intelligence Platform?**

The only issue we've run into with Cadence is getting our FTP imports up and running.  However, we will eventually be able to utilize this feature.

Cadence has made communicating with potential students so much easier.  The report feature also allows admins to have quick access to the effectiveness of our texting.

The one downside is you can only pull information from one report.  I would prefer if you could import student information from multiple as some students are not captured on just one.

The problem that Mongoose Cadence is solving for us is a quick, user-friendly, and student-relevant way to reach our prospective students.  Students are not checking emails as quickly and frequently as text messages, so having this tool has resulted in a higher student contact rate.

The connection between Mongoose and the Slate CRM could be better. It is only able to automatically push data between the systems once a day. Whereas our previous CRM was able to push text updates back and forth multiple times per day.
