## MongoDB Atlas Reviews
  ### 1. Strong Horizontal Scaling with Sharding, Though There’s Room to Grow

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Deepak T. | accounts executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 25, 2026

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

MongoDB supports horizontal scaling so it works well for large applications and growing data.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

very high memory uses, MongoDB performs best when indexes fit in RAM.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Document Data bases

  ### 2. A Not-So Familiar User Experience for Charting

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

Integration with MongoDB: MongoDB Charts is designed specifically for visualizing data from MongoDB databases. It seamlessly integrates with MongoDB, allowing users to connect to their data sources and quickly create visualizations without needing to export or transform data into a separate tool.

Drag-and-Drop Interface: MongoDB Charts offers a user-friendly, drag-and-drop interface for creating charts and dashboards. This makes it accessible to users with varying levels of technical expertise, enabling them to design and customize visualizations without writing complex code.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

Term used in the interface was rather stranger to a beginner at the start, e.g. encoding channel. It could be better, if some explanation are provided when user is navigating and using the interface.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To visualise the raw data as collected from the application.
To present and analyse the data real time in dashboard, when there are new data.
Integrated with the database if you are using MongoDB as a primary source of DB.

  ### 3. mongo DB is a reliable and versatile No SQL database

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mohammad A. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2023

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

Mongo DB is a nice to work with database. Is does not have a schema, making it a flexible database. It is also scalable, making it suitable for large applications. All in all, it is a good database option to work with

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

One big drawback of using mongo db is that it does not completely support ACID properties. This means that it cannot be used for transactional operations or where the data needs be extremely accurate, up to date and reliable

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has given me an option of making a flexible and scalable database option, for creating day to day applications, where ACID compliance is not required. It is also easy to understand and work with, so that also helps.

  ### 4. I like the MongoDB Charts

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vivek J. | Senior software developer, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2023

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

I like MongoDB Charts no structure query database. I am using MongoDB chart for storing BSON format data. Which is similar to JSON data. We can integrate this with many other languages.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

This is complex to understand for the new user or beginner. And before use, this developer must have a basic knowledge of non-relational databases. Otherwise he got many issues.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

MongoDB lets me get data from a database without writing any DBMS query. This immensely helps complete understanding and memorising these methods. And less line to write.

  ### 5. It is so flexible that it became a problem

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andres H. | Development Team Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

Speed and flexibility are interesting points. There is no need to create collections to start storing data, and you can have very deep structures with the ability to query in the inner structures.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

Now flexibility becomes a problem. If you don't properly validate the input you want to store, you will end up with a big amount of fields that are useless and confusing. Also, the same field in different rows can be null, string, numeric, boolean, object, etc.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was helpful to store data quickly and deliver features "fast", but now it is problematic because of the tech-debt due to invalidated input and complex JSONs.

  ### 6. MongoDB Review

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2022

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

Most Popular NoSQL database. It revolutionised the way we looked at databases.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

It is difficult to understand and grab hold of first for people coming from purely SQL and relational database.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Databases has been always visualised as big tables with multiple columns and endless number of rows, but MongoDB came up with the unique way of storing data in form of documents and objects.

  ### 7. No SQL required

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexander M H. | Data Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 15, 2021

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

What I like best is that schemas are optional. Schemas (usually required with SQL-based databases) can be very time-consuming. Mongo free you up and allows you to create a database based on documents.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

You really have to get used to the idea of not using schemas (with traditional databases) and that can take a while. Monogo requires a third-party cache to help it perform.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the biggest problems being solved is that I can perform a transaction within a single document.

  ### 8. Free manager for mongodb

  ### 9. Scalable but difficult to establish schema and relations on

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about MongoDB Atlas?**

We chose this DB for it's scalability and flexibility for a big data platform. It can run multiple nodes as one instance.

**What do you dislike about MongoDB Atlas?**

Quickly ran into issues with data integrity and dependency handling.

**Recommendations to others considering MongoDB Atlas:**

If you don't have a lot of data, please don't bother with this database. It will be a nightmare with all the data ending up in weird states and messing up your application.

**What problems is MongoDB Atlas solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Scalability and robustness. We can deploy multiple servers when running out of disk space, and multiple nodes so that if one server goes down, we still have data.

  ### 10. Not a fun read
