It was easy to integrate with Kong Gateway.

It is useful if you want to track metrics and logs and put them in some dashboards. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It has a lot of features, but some of them are not available in the free tier.

For specific features is not that easy to use.

For example, for the billing part I found uncorfotable to perform a curl for creating the subscription of a company to a billing plan. Why can't I use the GUI?

The documentation about the Moesif APIs is really bad and confusing; I expected something like an openAPI format. At least a description for each field.

I used a custom webhook as a billing provider, but there were no info on the documentation about the kind of payload Moesif would have sent to it and there was no clear info about how to set and display the "amount" (the cost of the API) on Moesif. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Sample reports: When you get started, there are a bunch of pre-configured dashboards showing visualizing sample data. You can see reports for DAU/WAU/MAU, user retention, top users, etc. These show the platform’s capabilities at a glance and make it easy to set up your own dashboards. Love this feature.

- Easy to use UI: I think the UI is quite intuitive. You can create new reports by clicking the bright red ‘+New’ report at the top and selecting what you want to create - an API analytics report (live event log, time series, segmentation, geo heatmap, or a user or company report (lookup tables, funnels, retention and composition reports). You can also create API monetization reports, usage alerts, and behavioral emails. I like the API product metrics focus that has gone into this.

- Great documentation and onboarding: There is lots of great documentation on the Moesif website for each feature. Well explained. Also, the onboarding process of signing up, setting up data collection, and getting to the first report was smooth. Lots of helpful links to data collector integrations. There is a wide choice of server integrations (Nodejs, Java, Go, etc) and gateway plugins (Kong, AWS Gateway, Tyk, Azure APIM, Solo, etc). But if you can’t find a prebuilt integration that meets your needs, you can use their REST API https://www.moesif.com/docs/api#collector-api-v1. (I used a combination of one of their API gateway plugins and their APIs).

- Great price plan as well - you can start a free trial to kick the tires and then purchase if you like it. The price point for the individual user is something a single dev can pay for, and when you want to move to the whole enterprise, you can go from there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had to look a bit to find the link to the API reference. https://www.moesif.com/docs/api#collector-api-v1 . Some of the API operations did not have example requests and responses, particularly the Management API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows you to monetize an existing API quickly without having to develop the tracker and rules and build all the dashboards. The gateway integration is awesome; you just need to copy a few lines in the configuration, and everything works out of the box! Moesif provides an excellent, intuitive platform for API analytics and monitoring. The integration with Heroku is seamless and requires minimal effort to set up, allowing us to quickly start tracking important metrics for our APIs. I really appreciate the granularity of the data Moesif offers, especially the ability to monitor individual API calls, analyze user behaviors, and set up real-time alerts. While Moesif offers great features, the cost can add up quickly depending on your data volume and the number of users you're monitoring. For smaller projects or startups, it might feel a bit pricey. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is very easy to use from a essentials perspective for API monitoring, it was also straightforward to setup and maintain. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are some notable quriks when it comes to filtering API requests and how searches work. When you are filtering request body properties the experience is not as smooth as I want it to be. Sharing links to searches is also prone to friction, I wish it made more use of URI parameters to enable more sharable links to say filtered tables.

Here are the problems I have seen with it:

* When filtering requests, in the request body property, it shows you what looks like every property moesif has ever seen as a filterable property, instead of the JSON tree structure of the actual payload you are working with, this adds tons of wasted effort in wading through non-existent properties when trying to filter payloads

* When you want to change a property that you have already indicated as a filter, it takes you back to the ROOT of the payload, instead of zooming into that part of the tree that the current property is located, this adds a lot of additional wasted effort to get back to that part in the payload

Additional quirk: When switching between selected columns in the table view and the stream view, it instantly wipes out any selected columns you indicated when going back to the table view, this is frustrating Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Any time i have had issues / questions about the usage, the team is quick to respond and provides personalized attention, ensuring that we have a positive experience and can effectively utilize the tool. Moesif is easy to set up and easy to use. You can go from signup to fully functional dashboards that breakout daily active users, usage by endpoint, latency, error counts, and more in a couple of hours. The UI and query tools are intuitive and much more user-friendly than other analytics tools I've used. The dashboards are also performant. Pages load FAST. All in all Moesif has been a great product that we've used to triage issues, get customers over implementation bottlenecks, and better understand how our customers are using our API.
