HotDocs is robust software that can do just about anything you might need it to in terms of document automation. It's been around a long time, which means there are great resources and a big community of (very helpful!) users. HotDocs makes our business infinitely more efficient. The level at which we can customize templates and their functionality is impressive. Our legal pleadings are much more uniform in appearance and the content of each specific type of pleading is more consistent. We can customize portions of the pleadings that need customization. Additionally "plug-ins" created for us by HotDocs allow us to save documents in various formats (.rtf, .pdf, .docx) which makes e-filing with the courts much easier. Additionally, the HotDocs training I receive from Seth Hanisek is always top-notch. He is so professional and easy to work with. He can wrap his mind around complex problems and work out a solution. For some of our needs we required custom files to be built as "plug-ins." Because of the customization of those files, and the fact that those who developed their programming are no longer with HotDocs we don't really have any support for them. They are "what they are." We are able to live with them, but it would be nice to have support for customized add-ons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Seth Hanisek provided training and really opened up the power available in Hot Docs. Spending one hour with Seth will save weeks of time learning and using Hot Docs to automate document generation in my law practice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

You'll no longer need to draft letters or documents from scratch. HotDocs allows me to automate the drafting process and have it generate a draft for me to fill out and edit with case-specific details. It has saved me and my firm so much time! Once you draft the first document in a case, all the information is stored so that you can continue where you left off the next time, and only answer supplemental information that has not already been stated in previous documents. The only downside I think would be getting started with the process. If you are new to HotDocs, you'll need to spend a lot of time figuring out how to construct your document templates in order for the document to be generated the way you want it to.
