I like that I am able to add as many team members as possible to each whiteboard simultaneously to drop their ideas onto the "canvas" by creating sticky note ideas or to brainstorm together in real-time while we are participating in remote meetings. I also like that most templates are already pre-made (ie: user journeys) so I am able to quickly create a user journey and then organize it within my whiteboard without having to think too much about how I will draw/design the layout. Since I am able to use miro directly in my web browser I can easily copy/paste images of our project workflow processes to share with clients who do not currently have a miro account. The drawing tool's functionality is somewhat less than desirable using a trackpad and some type of smoothness option would be greatly beneficial to make lines drawn appear less jagged. When I try to collaborate with groups larger than 20 individuals on a single whiteboard, the program becomes very slow and begins to noticeably lag and in addition there is a complete lack of options for creating your own backgrounds for your boards and users are limited to selecting from a predetermined list of colors created by miro. I love how easy it is to use Miro, in addition to how well explained it is for people who have never used applications of this type, making the start much easier compared to other tools like Obsidian where one gets lost without starting. During virtual meetings, it is helpful that all participants can go in and use their pointer to gesture to what they are talking about or draw in real time without switching screens or 'requesting control' on Teams. The drawing tools are not as intuitive as other platforms like Bluebeam. They are also pretty limited. When the board is large it starts to take a long time to buffer. It concerns the desktop application, which crashes from time to time, usually on whichever board I had open most recently. It is a minor inconvenience rather than a genuine obstacle, yet it does interrupt the flow when I am mid-session. The most helpful fix would be for Miro to improve how the desktop app handles larger, content-heavy boards, since that is usually when the crashes occur, and adding a more reliable auto-recovery that restores the board exactly as I left it, along with a lightweight warning when a board is growing too complex for the app to handle smoothly, would go a long way toward keeping my planning sessions uninterrupted.
