"Minimus Keeps Our Game Server Containers Lean and Ready for Traffic Surges"
What do you like best about Minimus?

We host highly concurrent backend environments, including a dedicated Azure server configured for online multiplayer gaming tournaments. When we experienced an extreme, sudden spike in traffic during a major bracket for the game, Minimus became an absolute necessity for our auto-scaling logic. By algorithmically stripping out unused OS libraries from the game server container, it helped us keep the environment lean and better prepared for those traffic surges. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

The aggressive removal of basic Linux utilities makes live production work and debugging difficult. Minimus removes tools like bash, curl, netstat, and ping. If a minimized game lobby container starts dropping UDP packets, you can’t simply shell into the pod to run network diagnostics. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Simple, Lightweight Images That Keep Deployments Clean and Secure"
What do you like best about Minimus?

The images are simple and lightweight, which makes them easier to handle during both development and deployment. Because there are no extra packages bundled in, we run into fewer unnecessary vulnerabilities and dependency-related issues, and the runtime environment stays cleaner overall. The setup also integrates smoothly with our existing workflow and doesn’t require any major changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

The minimal approach can make troubleshooting a bit less convenient at times, since some tools developers are used to aren’t included by default. There’s a small adjustment period, especially when it comes to debugging inside containers, but once you adapt it becomes more straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Practical Risk Reduction with Minimal, Hardened Images"
What do you like best about Minimus?

It helps lower overall risk in a very practical way. By relying on minimal, hardened images, there’s less exposure to vulnerabilities right from the start. It also makes compliance checks more straightforward, since there’s simply less to review and validate. The approach feels simple and easy to apply across teams, which helps with consistency. Overall, it fits well into existing processes without causing much disruption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

There can be an initial adjustment period when teams move to more minimal images. Some workflows may need to be updated as well, particularly when it comes to troubleshooting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Minimal Images That Cut Security Noise and Simplify Delivery"
What do you like best about Minimus?

The minimal images make a noticeable difference in my day-to-day work. With fewer unnecessary components, there are fewer vulnerabilities to track, which keeps everything cleaner and easier to manage across projects. I spend less time dealing with security noise and more time focusing on actual delivery. Overall, it’s a simple approach that works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

The minimal setup can feel a bit restrictive at times. Some commonly used tools aren’t available by default, which can make debugging slower and less convenient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Minimus Delivers Powerful Cloud Cost Control with Smaller Docker Containers"
What do you like best about Minimus?

We build, host, and manage complex digital architectures and cloud applications for enterprise clients across Italy. My role in administration bridges IT operations and finance, and Minimus has been an incredible tool for cost control. By plugging it into our cloud infrastructure, it automatically shrinks the Docker containers we deploy for our clients by up to 80%. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

The usage-based billing model makes it difficult to pass costs accurately on to our clients when a specific client’s processing volume spikes, because the cost fluctuates based on the number of image minimizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightweight, Hardened Images That Standardize Our Kubernetes Environments"
What do you like best about Minimus?

Consistency across environments has been a major improvement for us. We run these images across multiple Kubernetes clusters, and everything now feels much more standardized from one place to the next. The images are lightweight, which translates into faster pull times and more efficient resource usage on our nodes. On top of that, they provide a solid, hardened baseline that all teams can follow, and that kind of uniformity was something we were missing before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

There was some upfront effort needed to get everyone aligned with the new standard. Teams that were used to maintaining their own base images needed a bit of time to adjust and adapt to the new approach. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Minimal Images and Daily Rebuilds That Cut CVEs and Fit CI/CD Seamlessly"
What do you like best about Minimus?

The biggest win for us is how minimal the images are. There’s no unnecessary clutter, and that immediately reduced the number of CVEs we were seeing in our pipeline. The daily rebuilds are a huge plus, since we no longer have to constantly monitor upstream patches ourselves. I also appreciate the built-in SBOMs, because they provide clear visibility into what’s actually running. Overall, it fits nicely into our CI/CD workflow without requiring any major changes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

Debugging can be a bit more challenging because the images are distroless. You don’t have the usual tools available inside the container, so troubleshooting requires a different approach and a bit more planning than you might be used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Minimus Delivers Microscopically Small Docker Images for Traffic Spikes"
What do you like best about Minimus?

Running the dispatch backend for the Taxi Monterrico operation means our servers see massive, unpredictable traffic spikes, especially during the Friday rush. By stripping the Docker container of unnecessary bloat, we’ve been able to package our routing algorithms into something microscopically small. Minimus helped to resolve this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

Aggressively shrinking the container makes live server debugging incredibly painful, because the minimal image strips out basic Linux utilities like bash, curl, and netstat. As a result, my backend engineers can’t easily exec into the crashed dispatch container to pull network logs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Minimus Images Cut CVEs Fast and Integrate Smoothly into Our Pipeline"
What do you like best about Minimus?

What stood out immediately was how quickly the CVE count dropped after we switched to Minimus images. Our scans looked much cleaner, which in turn made reviews easier and less time-consuming. Knowing the images are rebuilt from source gives me more confidence than simply applying patches on top. It also integrates smoothly into our existing pipeline without requiring major changes. Overall, it feels like a solid foundation for our workflow rather than a quick fix. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

There’s a bit of a learning curve when working with minimal images, especially for teams that are used to having full OS layers available. We had to adjust some of our debugging workflows to fit that model. The documentation is generally good, but it could be more detailed in a few specific areas. "Minimus: Essential Quality Gate for Fast, Highly Compressed Web Apps"
What do you like best about Minimus?

Building scalable cloud architecture for our diverse portfolio of digital agency clients means we have to be incredibly conscious of resource consumption. Minimus acts as an essential quality gate before we hand over the final deliverables. By running our clients’ web applications through this platform, it algorithmically strips out bloat; the resulting images are highly compressed and boot up incredibly fast on the target Kubernetes clusters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Minimus?

The tool sometimes strips a hidden dependency that only gets called under specific network loads. An application can pass all local tests but then crash in the client’s staging environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
