The first thing that struck me about Mindomo was that it isn’t just a project planner. I can pull one idea out as a project map, and create an outline and a Gantt chart from it without losing any of my ideas! This has been a big advantage to our team who use project mapping as part of our brainstorming process, and switching over to outlines while we write. The collaboration is very smooth and the in-app chat function allows us to quickly communicate with each other without using Slack for every small conversation. The Mindomo Bookmarks browser extension is genuinely under-discussed. As I'm researching online, I can highlight text on any web page, clip an image, or save a link, and send it directly to a target mind map. By the end of a research session, I have an organized visual map of my findings instead of 40 open browser tabs. One of the biggest advantages of Mindomo is that it allows us to connect our various ideas and organize complex projects into smaller, more manageable steps. It is very easy and straightforward, which makes it super easy to use. All of the functions are organized so that you can complete your work without being lost. I have had an excellent experience overall; however, some features may take a little while to get used to and around because they are advanced. If the platform could be improved by adding a few additional guides or tutorials about how to use advanced features, it would make it easier for newcomers to learn how to navigate through the platform. Once it's set up, Mindomo is great. The Team subscription with shared team folders, team groups, and bulk member import via CSV is exactly what a growing company needs. Team admins can see member sign-ins, organize folders by project, and the task management features (with assignees, priorities, due dates, and instant email notifications) keep everyone accountable. The team administration interface, while functional, isn't as polished as the editor itself. Bulk CSV imports require a specific header format and the error messages when something goes wrong could be clearer. Also, ghost users (members who left but still appear in lists) took some figuring out the first time. The initial SAML configuration for our SSO took longer than expected. Mindomo helps us by providing a visual way to organize our case strategy, research, and assignments in one place. The Mindomo mind map style allows for easy connections between ideas and breaks down complex legal cases into clear steps, reducing the time required to plan or conduct discussions within the firm. I tried MindMeister, XMind, Coggle, and Lucidchart before finally settling on Mindomo. The thing that sold me was the ability to import from all of them (MindManager, FreeMind, MindMeister, XMind, Bubbl.us, Excel, OPML, text), allowing me to take my prior work with me. The export options are just as generous -- PDF with clickable hyperlinks, Word with table of contents and proper styling to notes, PowerPoint with two export options, Markdown, Excel (in multiple layouts), and Microsoft Project. As an owner of an e-commerce store and a project manager, I have numerous ideas to manage, such as product, marketing, and workflow ideas. The Mindomo software has been incredibly useful for providing a visual representation of all my ideas, arranged in a logical manner. I enjoy that there are so many types of structures you can use to create mind maps, and how your ideas can be linked together.
