Being at a news company that is prioritizing employee's interests in social responsibility and emphasizing ERGs is rare and also somewhat confusing when you talk through the processes and budget. Millie is always catering to your specific needs as a company and giving great ideas of what they've seen done in their own experiences working with nonprofits. As they continue to grow and create their goals for the year, they listen to your needs as a client and make sure to include your interests for the platform and what you'd like to specifically use it for. **What do you dislike about Millie?** They are still working on certain abilities for their platform so if you see something that you're interested in having that other CSR platforms have and Millie doesn't, don't be discouraged! They are more than likely not only working towards having those same abilities, but probably have thought through how to make it even better and more streamlined. **What problems is Millie solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the problems we first had was making sure that if an employee came to an event that was listed as 8 hours, but they could only stay for 4 hours, that the employee could submit their own hours but it still goes towards the event that was listed. They are really focused on their data and ensuring that you can get as much information out of the volunteering events you're hosting so that your executive team sees the importance of them. ### 41. The team at Millie has also been a fantastic resource as we've grown our social impact programming. **What do you dislike about Millie?** Some of our employee-directed charitable giving has focused on supporting friends and family involved in fundraising events such as walks and runs. The payment partner that Millie currently uses hasn't been effective in helping us direct matches with specificity to a walker or runners fundraising link. The Millie team has identified this as a challenge and has developed some alternatives for us, which have been appreciated. **What problems is Millie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Millie has helped us organize the administrative functions associated with our CSR efforts. We've also learned how to better promote our non-profit partners using campaigns and the "Madness" options. Additionally, we've had to provide virtual and regional volunteer opportunities for employees that are not located near our regional offices and the Millie platform has been a valuable resource. ### 44. It's been an effective communication tool to ensure all our employees are aware of the core nonprofits/causes we support and give them better insights into each nonprofit and how they make an impact! We've also been able to add new campaigns, such as 1.) Giving Madness that gamify the giving experience to increase the fun factor and 2.) Random Acts of Kindess to create a unique give back experience that drives kindness (and not just pushing donations). **What do you dislike about Millie?** I haven't seen a downside yet. One of our big goals/opportunities was to have Millie have option to host Drives, which 20%+ of our teams do each year, but they've now recently added Drives in the last couple of months. We're also eagerly awaiting some reporting updates that are in queue. The Millie team is extremely responsive to our user requirements, and is constantly making their tool better! **What problems is Millie solving and how is that benefiting you?** Millie is helping in a number of areas, including 1.) better company-wide communication of our big philanthropy campaigns, 2.) giving teams/philanthropy leads ability to search and identify local nonprofits/causes, 3.) overall reporting to understanding company-wide philanthropy and volunteerism footprint. ### 47.
