Setting 'work times' and home times is convenient, too. Autoclassify is useful to me. It's not invasive or overly annoying, but the reminders are helpful. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** The last update made it a little more time-consuming to mass classify, the separated boxes are not as easy to use as a 'file' or list view, but it's not terrible. The segments / start-stop points aren't perfect, and sometimes, a long, slow ride has break ups, and a multiple stop is all one segement. for my particular purpose, I only need end of day totals, so it's fine. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Having a detailed record for tax deduction reporting for work use. MileIQ makes it easier to keep a more simple log and streamlines my reporting to the company for reimbursement. It is especially appreciated, when I neglect to make my report right away, I can look back and see a general location or zoom to a map for details. ### 2. We load it onto their company-issued phones and require them to submit their mileage each month. It's been so easy for monthly reimbursement. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** I wish the "Administrator" side would allow me to pull the reports on behalf of the employees. We pay extra for these services but don't feel like we get the entire value because we don't see the "administrator" tools offered in other apps. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Team member mileage tracking and reporting is a lot easier with MileIQ loaded onto company phones. Mileage reimbursement takes a lot less time each month after implementing MileIQ. ### 3. We rolled the program out 50+ team members with a simple email and link to the application. We were literally up an running in a day! The very intuitive application so acceptance and utilization was immediate! **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Our employees were a little scared at first, knowing we would "see" all of their driving. However, the application allows users to modify and eliminate personal drive capture. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Reporting for tax purposes, easy of a system for employees and accurate payment for miles driven. You must always turn on app and have it running in background to calculated the total amount of mileage you are driving for business. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Uses GPS and battery. Data owned and used by Microsoft. Not sure I trust Microsoft with my location data. I prefer just making a mileage log using a an online mileage log generator tool. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** MileIQ has made it easy to track the number of miles I drive. Having used other products that measure your mileage, this one takes the cake. By using the familiar "swipe right" or "swipe left", you can either do personal or business. If you want to get more granular, you can select from a preset list of business or personal uses. By adding more uses, you can really get useful information for taxes, business billing, or personal tax planning. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** For whatever reason, it sometimes does not capture all drives if you do not have it up and running. By having it up and running (as an application), which you shouldn't have to do) all the time, it does limit the battery life. Adding new additional usages under the business and personal is sometimes baffling as you must use the desktop version for adding sometimes and then other times you can do it on the mobile version. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** Install it on your mobile and then keep it up and running. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Instead of keeping a mileage log, you can use this application to keep track of all your drives, both personal and business. Since I track every drive, this is the application that keeps track of it all. ### 7. Mile IQ - Great solution for real estate agent mile tracking **Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Cole G. | Realtor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** June 20, 2021 **What do you like best about MileIQ?** Its interface is straightforward to use and export a yearly driving summary. It sends the report in a very easy to read format and you can track how many of your miles are for personal and business. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** You cannot auto classify all drives as a business drive. Therefore I need to spend hours swiping through all of my drive histories, and it can take some time. Also, you need to kee p the app running at all times in the background - if you switch off the app or shut your phone down it will no longer track your miles. This can be problematic when closing out all apps on iphone and you will be prompted to restart the app, slightly annoying but not too big of a deal. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** I havent found an easier way to track my miles. This solution is affordable, easy to use and effective. I would shop around a bit - the price is around $50 a year which is reasonable considering how much it can help. There may be other options but I would argue the simplicity of the interface may not be as good as MileIQ. It was recommended to me by my last broker and I have used the application only on mobile since then. I'd recommend it to anyone who relies on mileage tracking but doesnt have the time or capacity to mess with tracking miles on your own. I would like it if it were a little cheaper but definitely worth it. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** No complete auto classification but it does group similar drives and round trips. I use it to export mileage for tax purposes. I'd hate to track my miles the old fashioned way. I recommend this for people who previously dreaded the tax form for mileage deduction and dont want to keep all records scribbled down in a notebook. ### 8. I like that it will remember trips and auto classified them. I like that I can turn off and on the program as I see fit. I like can easily go back and look at drives from any month at any time and get easy to print summary of my driving logs. I like that you can pick different reason for any given trip. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Not a fan of the monthly price seem a little high in my opinion but if you drive a lot it might be worth it Not a fan that it automatic will turn on the following morning unless uncheck the option, Also not sure why the app wont work if the location permission is set to always, Allowing the app to location access when on should be all the permission it needs. Also it needs to be easier to go back and reclassify a drive when needed. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** The app allows you to use it for 40 drives a month without a fee, so if you don't drive a lot you could use it for free. Also if your spending any kind of extra time each month with millage logs this app will save you money **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** It very useful at tax time to have all you mileage all properly logged and if you need to print mileage logs this app makes it very easy. MileIQ does just that. It's easy to use and makes reporting for my taxes a breeze. Downloading reports rocks! It's more than I expected and you can't beat the price - I use the free version :). **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Really the only thing I dislike is that sometimes it shuts off and I don't realize it so I might miss some miles. But even this is okay because I can add a trip when needed. Most of the time, it is a lifesaver. Something I don't even have to think about. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** Just do it - you won't regret it. This app has made my account much easier. It recognizes all of the trips and it is very easy to determine personal and work trips. It automaticaly calculates the tax deductions and it is an excellent tool for anybody that has to drive fro work related reasons on a regular basis. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Sometimes you have to make sure that the route is correct. It has happened to me a couple of times that I have made a quick stop and that kind of threw off a couple . Other than that I think the app has great features, some that I don't know how to use. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** If you are looking for a way to track your car expenses, especially if you are self-employed, MileIQ is a great way to keep a log of all your trips and determine which ones were personal and which ones were work related. It gives you a clear report of your expenses and a clear estimate of how much could be deducted from your taxes. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** As I share a car with my husbad, we need to make sure to separate business related trips form personal trips to be able to file our taxes properly and get the most deductions without mixing information, getting confused and always having a record. ### 13. The app calculates automatically and although I used it as an app on my phone, I can also easily pull it up on my desktop at work to reference my trips. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** Some of my shorter trips (if I only drove a mile or so) were missed by the app. In the grand scheme, a mile or two isn't much but they do add up over time. But it's a small price to pay for the other pros of the ap. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** Prior to MileIQ I had to record all my business trips using an Excel form. While it was easy-ish to use, it was tedious and annoying to have to transfer/upload all my trip info into my spreadsheet. With this app, everything can be done in one place so I am not able to utilize my time at work more efficiently. ### 14. I also wish it could guess locations or streets via Google Maps rather than just telling me the city. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** Don’t forget to stay on filing your drives or it can be overwhelming if you drive a lot in general. It will track every drive no matter what so it can be a lot to sort through, even for someone like me who primarily works from home. **What problems is MileIQ solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have completely erased the need to keep track of driving for work. It's also easier to classify drives between personal and business. **What do you dislike about MileIQ?** I've found it difficult to manually add new drives to the software. **Recommendations to others considering MileIQ:** One one problem with MileIQ is that I had a technical error on my account that caused the reporting function of the app to fail. This problem affected my ability to submit a monthly trip reimbursement report for about one and a half months. I submitted several technical support requests but MileIQ had very poor support and was very slow in fixing this feature.
