It streamlines formatting for longer reports and ensures consistency. However, this is a common feature across most modern word processors, so while it’s appreciated, it’s not a standout differentiator. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** Microsoft 365 continues to degrade the user experience in favor of change for the sake of change. The “New” Outlook strips away essential features businesses rely on daily. Excel’s aggressive autofill suggestions often hinder more than help, requiring constant correction. Word struggles with something as basic as copy and paste—formatting inconsistencies are routine. They complicate their portals as much as possible causing a need for an enterprise-level IT team if anyone ever expects to sleep. They act like they're doing the world a favor but still can't even provide a sender email address (though that's what they tell you to look for before opening an email). Honestly, when I think of evil, Microsoft is what comes to mind. **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** At this point? I think Microsoft causes more problems that solves. I couldn't count the times I've suggested moving on to my clients. ### 3. The best thing about it was the hope. Not one lived up to it's promise. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** Every single thing. Slowed down my business in every way. It actually doesn't work in so many instances. Apparently I was setting things up wrong because I was doing them in Chrome. I have to use it because of my work, and even then I try to get away from all their offerings as much as possible. I am stuck with Outlook for email, but I avoid everything else. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** MS Outlook is still the clunkiest, outdated, 1990s-feeling email client out there. It is literally almost the only email provider that has not realized that email needs to be in a clean easy to use interface today! I don't know why people still use it. It takes twice as long to create calendar events as Google calendar, and when you sign up for an event outside your organization, half the time I can't get it to add to my Outlook calendar and have to put it in manually instead. As for Word and Excel, if you are a power user of one of these products, then maybe you still need them. But for the other 95% of the business world, Google docs and sheets does everything you could ever need - and you don't have to try to figure out whether to save a file on your machine or in the cloud every time you create something (eye roll - why is that even still a thing?) MS Teams is an abomination in comparison to Slack, and don't even get me started on OneDrive (how could anyone make a cloud service that is so hard to use?) Long story short, Microsoft products work as long as you don't mind fighting with them on a regular basis. There's this weird dashboard thing that all your programs are linked to, which I can only ever find if IT sends me a link to it. No idea why I can access everything there if it is also installed on my machine. ### 5. With Smartsheets I can add an array of attachments, collaborate with my colleagues, set up reminders and even integrate with other third-party solutions like Slack. ### 7. They've had me redownload the suite at least 3 times, Word and Outlook still crash. And the last tech suggested I go reinstall my whole OS. If you try to access them from outside the browser you need to go through a bunch of loopholes and it never work properly. G-suite is much much better for a lot of these things. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Try G-suite first and see if it works better for you. **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** We switched from G-suite 6 months ago and use it for data input and analysis. While regular excel offers many more features than g-suite, office365 is nowhere near as good. ### 10. It’s a cloud based application so it gives access to our emails and other office files from anywhere and from any device. Office 365 is very useful application for our business and it let all the team collaborate together. One of the biggest advantage of this tool is that it let us share documents to other colleague which is very good for our business. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** As I mentioned that office 365 is an online application so it requires high speed internet connection and a Microsoft account for work. Web version perform well but mobile version doesn't work perfectly because it has limited features rather than PC version. Its PC version has bundle of reliable features which let us create, share and edit all formats of documents. It comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. So from a business or student standpoint, it'd be a great investment. You can get everything you need. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** Okay, as a designer...a lot of things come over from clients in word that they consider a 'design.' But truly, you cannot design anything in Word or PowerPoint. They are not meant to be design programs and I think a lot of people think they can do everything we can do in Word....but that is not the case. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Please don't try to use these programs to try to design things. We were forced over to Office 365 after an acquisition that made us move to the Outlook platform. I didn't like the change and haven't taken to the new tools or apps well. **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I honestly don't use the online collaboration tools, I still prefer to use google docs, etc. I have to use the Outlook email platform for work and I haven't noticed any benefits outside of just getting through day to day work as you would using any platform. ### 18. Using Office365 in a large company, it can often be confusing to navigate to what you need throughout the program. I remember the days of AOL and Windows 96, and I like that it is a name that is very familiarized in many professional industries. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** I have more complaints, however, then I do positive things when it comes to Microsoft Office. Despite being a recognized industry standard amongst many fields of work, for some reason, they still can't get the software to work smoothly. I often encounter a lot of crashes, as it is such a heavy program. While I tend to work on a Mac, at this point in 2017 they should be expanding on the fact they are a standard. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** If you're considering investing in this, don't. When I bought a new MacBook Air a few months ago, I had to do the migration from my old MacBook Pro. Office has to be reinstalled all over again .It was a no-brainer to fully commit to Google Docs, Sheets, etc. Everything is easier now. But if I were to chose something it is very nice to tell my users when they have a problem with O365 that I can't help them because we have lost all control over eMail. Not that great for my users but it saves me from having to help them. To be fare, I'm sure that is 6 months to a year most of the problems we are seeing will be a thing of the past as we except the limitations of O365 **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** Where to start, the web client for Outlook is not intuitive and is very hard to navigate. The idea of "Focused" and "Other" views for emails has never been explained and I don't understand the criteria for emails being shown in one or the other. It was a major pain to start building my spam filters again, and my users have found that this is an impact on there use of email until they can set up the filters again. Getting O365 to interface with existing applications that send out emails is very difficult and in some cases impossible. The fact that Outlook doesn't translate HTML has turned our emails with reports in them into the most ugly thing I've ever seen. We have lost functionality for the sake of using Microsoft instead of Notes. We've lost control over our email system and will lose functionality in our applications as we re-write them to work with O365. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Be aware that the transition is not easy or clean, give your self the time needed to plan. If management is not willing to allow you to plan for all business cases your company has, be ready for an even harder transfer. By best recommendation is that if you have to make the change, tell your company that you are going to scrap the old system and not bring anything over to O365 and build O365 from scratch. You will not have the same functionality or quality when shifting over to O365. Better to just start clean and forget the past. **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** There was no business reason for making the move to O365 except that our users wanted to be the "same as everyone else". Of course now we have to try and fix all the issues that have come up from the change. ### 24. I have realized benefits of using an integrated suite of software to do this, but the UX and feature offerings are less than optimal. ### 25. The response has been overwhelmingly negative, and I have to agree with it. I guess if I had to find something positive to say, it would be that, at a bare minimum, Office 365 more or less functions to provide me with the content I expect from it, e.g. email, calendar, etc? **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** One example of something I don't like about Office 365 is the level of detail in the calendar utility. With our old calendar system, I could see who placed a reservation on a room in our building, so I could confirm whether or not I've already made that reservation by seeing immediately who placed it. That information doesn't appear with Office 365, unfortunately. Also, I have to clear my cache regularly just to switch between email accounts, which is annoying. Lots of other little frustrations on a day-to-day level. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Avoid using it **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** I mean...I'm happy to be able to receive email, but that isn't asking a whole lot? I've seen few benefits to our transition to Office 365, I'm sorry to say. ### 28. What's nice is that Microsoft had improved their product to be comparable with cloud. I don't if I can say what I like the best about it, but this product is used all around the world. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** Even though Microsoft has been trying to catch up with Apple and Google when it comes down to cloud products I don't think they are in the same playing field. To achieve same results as the competitors you would need to spend a Good amount of time setting it up just to get it to work. The whole Office 365 is not easy-to-use and the learning curve it Is very long and complicated. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Take a look at Google Docs and can't beat free product versus yearly subscription. Microsoft is trying really hard to compete but they're not doing anything to annoy the customers. **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** Mainly used this product for school and Random tasks. Officer 365 can get the job done but the process will be long and painful. I haven't seen many benefits that office 365 provides and that it would separate them from the other competitors that would make me consider them. ### 29. Everything else about it is absolutely painful. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** The lag time in doing anything is frustrating to the absolute maximum. I have often just given up and clicked away when trying to do anything . Furthermore, the amount of downtime is absolutely unbelievable. If this service was offered by a tiny startup it would still be unacceptable, but to have this produced by the Redmond giant is downright embarrassing. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft 365:** Run away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **What problems is Microsoft 365 solving and how is that benefiting you?** The only benefit is in giving up on this product and going back to Office resident on my PC hard drive. ### 30. That is not part of my job and I am going off how long our roll-out is taking. The term of the contract is part of purchasing and not in my area. **What do you dislike about Microsoft 365?** MS keeps hiding everything. They should try to allow people to use the older interfaces and just add menu options for new features.
