**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

It's a very intuitive and easy-to-use server software whereas other software is a bit difficult as Microsoft SQL does not require us to create multiple folders.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Sometimes double server runs at a time so I have to end the task using the system process, which is very hectic as this might make me kill a running server. This happens when I try to run new server and the old one is still running.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Please go with this software as it is very easy to use without any lag or causing any issues to the database. The software is user-friendly.

Ease of relationship with other programs like Power BI, Visual Studio Programs (SSAS, SSIS), Microsoft Tools, etc... Lots of documentation for learning and communities to solve the problems.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

In my opinion, there are license cost problems and maybe the program can get summary of a data when needed. Also, ı want to make an analysis query output such as grouping data, making filters or ranking with the same page, not like copying data to another program (Excel, etc...)

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

I think it's the easiest tool for make queries and learn how to use it. Also When you face a problem there are a lot of fields to solve it very quickly.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

  ### 8. A fully fledge persistency solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vithushan S. | Co-Founder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The Microsoft SQL Server got a lot of benefits compared to the other databases. My favorite about MSSQL Server is the ability to have big data clusters at high consistency performance which makes it soo much reliable for large-scale data pipelines. Also, there is another best part about Microsoft SQL Server is the comprehensive BI capabilities and ease to work with reporting functions.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Even though the Microsoft SQL Server got awesome capabilities. it's adding too much complexity for small/medium software solutions. It doesn't work as convincing enough for small solutions as it's only shining in the large enterprise markets. It would be great if there is a lightweight and efficient version available.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

If your organization is into large scale big data analytics or data intensive enterprise application development. SQL server is worth considering.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At our organization, I & my team use the Microsoft SQL Server to do data analytics, BI reporting, data visualizations, and data cleansing. Also, we use it for enterprise application developments.

  ### 9. Expensive but everything you need for a database

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio R. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Rock stability, tools (through the Studio, which is free), there is a free version too (often bundled with software that requires it.)

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The learning curve, but primarily I'd love for SQL to come out of the box with a backup plan already in place. I find deployments without any backup plans all the time. I also find it a bit annoying that the syntax is finicky when compared to MySQL/MariaDB, like putting double quotes instead of single quotes for a simple comparison breaks the query.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

If you're starting from scratch using a database Microsoft SQL may not be the best solution as it has a steep learning curve. You need to learn the entire Microsoft platform to create usable databases and applications. However, if you're paying somebody to develop a database for you and you will just manage it, then MSSQL is the ideal solution. You do need to take into consideration licensing costs and whether the limitations of the free version will stunt your application's growth.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using SQL for a 3rd party ERP system, operations software, billing and time tracking.

  ### 10. MS SQL server has good performance and integration with other tools

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Performance is good. Data processing is fast compared to other tools. Good response to a query, Also easy to learn SQL query and also very compactable in writing compact queries

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Sometimes there will be an issue with performance due to connectivity issues. Also, recovery or restoring of lost or corrupt data takes a longer time, and the process needs to follow is more.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

It's a good tool that helps store data in DB, and also it performs well when it communicates with other tools like integrating with BI tools or Cloud services, etc. Overall good tool with good performance and integration.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Recovery issue I tried to solve much time, but it will take a longer time as it needs to follow a few processes. The benefit is I will be learning a few basic stuff that needs to recover data fast.

  ### 11. Good for Data Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rafay K. | Associate Technical Consultant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

We can quickly learn this language from youtube also from google, Udemy, Coursera, or any other online platform.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The thing I wouldn't say I like is the integration of different servers outside the box, which is quite tricky. It can be an easier way to integrate the business application into the database. Although you can say that it is good that it sometimes takes less time to analyze the result of perspective command of those business application.

For being a database developer or data scientist and data analyst one should use this platform because it is much easier than another language to learn. A beginner who wants to learn about SQL can easily learn by youtube or online platforms like Udemy, Coursera, etc, This is much I like in this platform that a beginner can easily learn this language by his practice.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The thing I dislike about this software is its installation. It's not that easy as other software. Also, a guide was not properly defined while installing this software. Also sometimes users have faced some issues getting the server name so if these problems were solved and I think it would be better for beginners to install this software.

UI needs improvement also few system-defined words need to be handled properly, as the user uses similar kinds of variables.
It should show the message as a variable that cannot be used as it's a system variable instead of throwing an error.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storing data and fetching it over the network smoothly.
Computing capability in terms of functions and stored procedures which developers can easily have.
Shows time is taken by an operation very well, which helped to improve our application performance.

Microsoft SQL has an easy-to-use user interface. It can handle large data sets with great ease and can process queries very fast. The Query creation process is also straightforward, and the software yields accurate and fast results. It integrates easily with your front-end to capture data points, and the changes get reflected in the software instantly. You can fetch data from the data management software and generate views according to your requirements.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Query Language needs to be studied before using it, i.e., people who don't have a Computer Science background might take time to get used to it. Error tracking, I feel, is challenging than the other options available. You also have to pay a fee for using Microsoft SQL, and you have good enough applications (My SQL) that are free of cost.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft SQL integrates with Visual Studio, Eclipse, JCreator, and Net Beans easily. We use it as our data management software in almost all use-cases. It is the best software for growing databases, and I can generate views as per my usage.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Hardware | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

It is a query language tool to return multiple sets of records in the database. It is based on SQL (Structured query language). It can manage database and tables in a very effective manner.

We run different sets of queries in SQL Server Management Studio in our organization.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The tool has multiple option and makes its layout a bit complex. But though the tool has everything which is required to manipulate the data and tables.
Our database records are private and protected as well.
In SQL server we do not get any UI like DBeaver to manipulate the data via a UI.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is used to return table records, we use data analysis to drive our operation and achieve the excellence by proper analytics and applying joins in our database. As it gets very complex to fetch a meaningful information from various sets of tables

  ### 26. SQL Databases and its pro and cons

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

  ### 27. Microsoft SQL is a powerful database tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

It is powerful, fun and flexible. If you are a database administrator, you probably already know this, but Microsoft SQL is an outstanding product.
SQL Server Management Studio is easy to use, but you are not limited to just that tool for building queries and databases.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

Licensing models. They are complicated and annoying. Sometimes you need a single, simple feature, but you have to upgrade to Enterprise to get it - and the cost uptick is generally out of the question unless it is required to upgrade.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft SQL Server:**

Make sure you understand licensing models - what you get with each license, the costs, and how to implement and report on it (prove) if you get audited.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use SQL for data analysis, analytics, and creating robust and detailed reports for clients, executives and stakeholders. It allows us to quickly and easily determine the progress the company is making.

  ### 28. Great experience but can be more easy.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Osama A. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The feature of SSMS is where it shows how to optimize your query <3 SQL Server makes it easy to use the index and it does not need pointers for every little point.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft SQL Server?**

The dependency is much greater than it should be. This means when you want to update or upgrade you have to delete almost 4 5 dependent apps from the system which can be reduced.

**What problems is Microsoft SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Querying and optimizing queries is the most difficult task for me. Creating a database for live and staging instances for E-Commerce and CMS sites and practicing to write queries.

  ### 29. Recommendation to use Microsoft SQL
