## Microsoft Publisher Reviews
  ### 1. Accessible program for Print and Digital Marketing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

This product is accessible and easy to navigate. I was able to navigate Publisher without prior knowledge. In addition, it's so widely used that you can likely find how-to do's online.

Also, I can use Publisher to create icons and change their color to use in other projects.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

Not considered a modern platform for creativity.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Use the Microsoft site (support.office.com) to help bring your ideas to life.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I solved the issue of creating quality marketing materials without hiring a graphic designer. Because Publisher is so easy to use, you can create something beautiful and make it interactive. This is super beneficial when sending documents out via newsletter or email. If someone can not style a proper newsletter or campaign using a service like Constant Contact, they can send downloadable links in an email as a Publisher PDF that allows the user to navigate from flier to webpage or resource in seconds by linking objects and/or links in the flier.

  ### 2. Great software to create anything!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LEAN 4. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher is very versatile. It allows you to create greeting cards, business cards, banners, you name it. What we like the best is how easy it is to turn your project into a jpg, pdf, or about any file type you need.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

There is nothing that I don't like about the Publisher program. I've been using it for years, and I can't think of anything negative to share.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can create just about any kind of file type (as mentioned above), which really simplifies the process of creating and then converting the file to match our needs.

  ### 3. User Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen A. | S.T.E.A.M Coordinator/ Instructor/Technology Liaison , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

It's a quick and user-friendly ability to create and publishes quality digital design work

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

It has limitations of course especially if your use to using a more robust design software but it just takes additional steps to complete unique design elements.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

If you need to complete a job quickly without the hassle of dealing with an advance editor this is the way to go. You completed design will still be completed with the professional finish your looking for.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create a brochure, programs, and design flyers.

  ### 4. Freedom to create

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I love the ability to add in text and places pictures and draw objects very easily.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

Sometimes when selecting a few items to group together, it misses some meaning that you think you have grouped everything together to move when it all hasn't leaving some objects behind.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The freedom of placing text where ever in the page required as opposed to word where it is more difficult for the same ability.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher is probably one of my favorite Microsoft products. It's easy to use for fliers, birthday cards, or anything you could send out.

You can't really edit the pictures that you import. You can edit it in another software then upload it, but that's about it. Not much filters.

I've made class flyers for our work. It was professional and I was complimented.

What is most helpful about Microsoft publisher is that it so easy and straightforward to use compared to more expensive and other softwares such as Adobe.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I dislike that it may not have a lot of functions to its other publishing Adobe counterpart.

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Straightforward and easy to use. Lots of advanced features but still useful if you are not well versed in everything if offers.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

The templates are useful but there a few occasions where they can be more varied.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to quickly mock up something and see if it will work for our purpose before we spend excess money.

  ### 11. Great for simple designing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher is great for designing simple documents, easy to learn quick and does most things a design program would do. However, coming from a background with Adobe Creative Suite, it definitely does not compare to Illustrator or InDesign. It does however get the job done efficiently!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I dislike that it does not have all design capabilities in comparison to programs like Illustrator and InDesign. I know it may not be a fair comparison, but when designing in Publisher, it gets frustrating when a certain feature is not provided, but is in Adobe programs. For example, it does not offer Layers, so it becomes hard to select certain objects especially when things get designed on top - it becomes frustrating to design effectively and hard to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Great to have for quick projects if you don't want to invest in expensive design programs. Easy to use and gets the job done, but not ideal for major design projects.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Provides quick turn around for designing simple real estate flyers. Easy to use and edit for agents who request last minute requests for marketing materials.

  ### 12. Publisher 365

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike Lester R. | Systems Head, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

What I liked best about Publisher on my O365 subscription is that it is FREE with my subscription. It has the similar interface as most of the Microsoft office suite programs and that making pages is as easy as modifying a Word file.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

The thing I don't like about the software is that it looks OLD and there are not as many templates or even tutorials on the software and it seems Microsoft is not so keen in keeping up with other Desktop publishing software available on the Market. I do believe Microsoft should keep on developing this potential disruptor.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Publisher is a default program MS Home users are FREE to use and download on their Windows machines. Unfortunately it is not available on the Mac. Also there is no mobile app for this software. However, what lacks in features, Microsoft compensates for its very user friendly interface and ease of use (learning curve)

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Businesses who are already subscribed to the Cloud MS Office suite should closely consider using Publisher as their desktop publishing software.

  ### 13. Good editing software

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

You can use the program to piece multiple images and other text together to create one file. Easy to export to the file type of your choice.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

Can sometimes be difficult to use when the background image moves with the text.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving the problem of creating marketing flyers for my brokerage.

  ### 14. excellent option to create new editing methods

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** zara v. | Customer Support Professional, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I liked being able to create designs in an excellent way and without complications, besides that they are in a super professional way and it is not easy to use, allows to share the designs in a super adaptable way

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

When using one of the templates that are described to make one of the editions I present slight changes in the edition that I already had and the image was disproportioned a bit

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was an excellent option because it allows you to create editions in a professional, easy and fast way.

  ### 15. Better than Word

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tab C. | Interior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I don't know how many times I have seen people trying to create flow charts, flyers, brochures, banners, business cards, etc in Word. Don't do it, trust me. Publisher was built for that. Maybe start your flow chart in Excel then bring over, but other than that Publisher is what you need when you want to publish something. Things just workout better when you use the correct program.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

There has yet to be anything that I don't like about the program. Straight forward and easy to use. If you can use Word, you can use any of the Microsoft Office Programs.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Most every computer will come with this program. Use it when you need to create handouts or flyers. Don't use Word. That is for large text files.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As stated above, creating things that are intended to be published online or printed. While you won't get Adobe Illustrator quality from this, it will be good enough for that quick print that is needed. Nice to use the pre-made templates as well so you don't have to start from scratch.

  ### 16. It's simple, you can save a lot creating by yourself

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospitality | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Create polished, professional layouts without the hassle. You works like a professional designer

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

It does not include the some different theme colors, is missing advanced image editing tools, or other new features that you can find in another software.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reduce third-party contracting for simple advertising developments.

  ### 17. Ease of use with an Old Friend

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica B. | Virtual Assistant, Writing and Editing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher has been around for decades and hasn't changed much, other than to improve usability. Publisher is perfect for creating all types of marketing products such as business cards, flyers, postcards, and so much more! The options that Publisher offers are countless and one could make everything they ever needed for their business right here in our good ol' friend, Publisher.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher does seem outdated with all the fancy new things available to create marketing items with. However, never underestimate an old friend. Publisher is reliable and easy to use.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Be amazed at the ease of use of Publisher. Create all your marketing documents (and more) within the same program. Click on each option and see what you can create!!

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All marketing products can be created in the same program. It makes things streamlined and consistent. It makes it easy to find what one is looking for and use the same fonts and options throughout the marketing material. This creates professional consistency.

  ### 18. Behind the Curve of Design Software

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher may be one of the easiest design softwares to use for presentation and publication making. The viewport is exactly identical to all other Microsoft softwares, such as word and powerpoint, so it is easy to learn to use, and the toolbars are identical. It also is paired with Microsoft Tech Support, which is great, however the benefits are thin compared to its struggles.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I dislike how simplified and difficult it is to customize. It is incredibly difficult to create actually creative pieces with this template. I would highly recommend that people use this product simply for simple presentations and graphics, and not rely on it too heavily for creative or graphic design work.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Please consider the actual things you plan to use Publisher for before purchasing. It is easy to use, yes, but it may not accomplish the design facts that you intend to use it for.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of use is by far the largest benefit of Microsoft Publisher. Anyone is now equipped to use it, but the quality of work that it produces is subpar, especially compared to other softwares for design that are now on the market.

  ### 19. publisher for business

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 31, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Using publisher was a quick and easy way to send out company newsletters, create brouchers and other correspondence.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

there was nothing about Microsoft publisher that I disliked.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the benefit of Microsoft publisher is that it is quick, userfriendly and has templates to get you started.

  ### 20. Simple and Easy

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kume A. | Senior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I think what I like most about publisher is how similar it is to other microsoft office apps. Its easy to use, and you really don't need any tutorials if you just need to do basic stuff.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I wish it'll grow up to other industry standard apps like InDesign. The main issue fr me is how tedious it is to do advanced designs and settings.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cover designs for presentations

  ### 21. excellent application.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luis Armando C. | Propietario de la empresa, Law Practice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

What I like most about this application are its templates and the possibility of doing an excellent job in a very short time, despite being offered as an application for beginners is useful for any exérto, because it saves a lot of time, I use it very often to make my presentation cards, my brochures, calendars, among many other things.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I do not see that I have something that I dislike, what I have been able to note is that this application does not have any kind of tutorials, but it is something acceptable because it is very easy to use, and has no way to communicate if you have any mishap with the purchase or installation.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

You save a lot of time and money using this application, and it is 100% useful..

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am very comfortable with this application, it has helped me to make my presentation cards to distribute to all the users and clients of the firm where I am owner, without having to hire any service because I personally do it, as well as the calendars of the office, It has given me the advantage of giving to promote my services in a very easy and simple way.

  ### 22. Microsoft Publisher, Exceptional for All your Desktop Publishing Needs!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I love best that it is universal, can be simple to use and has the potential to be used for advanced projects. Integrates with Microsoft Office.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

There is a learning curve. Not enough tutorials, and online support. Templates are out of date and out of style. Not very contemporary at all. Quickly growing out of style. Also don't like that not many people are still using it or being trained on it. Many new hires or young employees don't like to use it because of its limitations. Not Cloud Based, which would be useful for our work team.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

Publisher seems to be on its way to becoming obsolete, with the sudden emergence of online-based publishing.. These new tools, Publiisher's new competitor make it easy for anyone to quickly do what Publisher does.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Strictly used for basic In house communication: memos, flyers, certificates and invitations.

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

I like Microsoft Publisher because it has a large catalog of templates designed according to the user's needs. Some templates are available with the software and others can be downloaded. It can be menus, brochures, postcards, flyers, even cards for all kinds of occasions. The designs are simple and professional. It is a quick solution, according to any situation. It is very easy to use, does not require special knowledge of graphic design or training for the end user.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

I think Microsoft Publisher should innovate with new designs according to the new trends in graphic design. It should offer new color combinations and new fonts of letters. For the rest, I consider that there are no other aspects to change.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

I highly recommend Microsoft Publisher to make brochures, offer publications, flyers, quickly and professionally. It has many templates that we can use easily. Also if we need to do the curriculum summary, Microsoft Publisher is perfect. It is a simple, versatile and easy to use tool that can not be missed in the office.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Constantly in the company it is required to make publications to send new offers of our services to the clients. It is necessary to be creative and flashy. And even more the content posted on social networks. One of the simplest, fastest and most elegant ways is to use the Microsoft Publisher templates. We save time in making our own designs for which we would use complicated and expensive software.

I am not someone who knows what they're doing when it comes to using a publishing system. I took on using Microsoft publisher 4 years ago and was pleasantly surprised with how easy it is to use. It made it so easy for me to start using and making agendas and brochures

Publisher has a solid format for making booklets and conference materials. I've used it to make a small book for a university program because it allows for arranging things in a clean manner.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

If you are editing things for work or for conferences, this is a great tool because it is easy to use. I'd suggest researching other samples before starting with this product. The background option is great but you should prepare your images prior to starting to create the work in Publisher.

  ### 36. Publisher, a very complete and simple program

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

Publisher is included in the Office package, and being from Microsoft, it integrates very well with the rest of the programs in the package. The best thing about Publisher is its simplicity; it has a lot of predefined templates with which you can create a design in just a few steps. Unlike many of its competitors, Publisher connects to online templates from Microsoft Office, which are regularly updated and feature great designs. The good thing is that people without any knowledge in graphic design can create a design that looks professional. The templates are very editable in terms of colors. It has excellent layout tools and a wide variety of fonts.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

What I don't like are the limitations it has; for certain things, you have to resort to more powerful programs. Its simplicity makes you miss certain tools. It doesn't allow you to import PSD files from Photoshop or PDFs.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

If you don't want to complicate your life to make a basic design using templates, this is your program.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At my job, we are sometimes tasked with designing triptychs, invitations, brochures, banners, etc. Normally, we resort to Photoshop, but if we are short on time, we use Publisher, which with its predefined templates makes it very easy to do these kinds of things in no time.

  ### 37. Begginers from 90's...

**What do you like best about Microsoft Publisher?**

It is an easy way to learn magazines and books design. If you want to learn about it, that's an easy old way to do it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Publisher?**

Its UI is terrible, old, nothing new, it looks like a cheap program... (If it's cheap it doesn't have to look cheap, right?) And once you begin to work with professional programs, it looks awful to meet your expectatives.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Publisher:**

It is just a begginer software. Don't expect more.

**What problems is Microsoft Publisher solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Publisher before I start using other professional programs. So, I did a few little jobs with it while I was learning In Design... It helps me with birthday and presentation cards, CV, a little brochure, and things like that.
