I appreciate that Microsoft Power Apps offers a familiarity similar to Microsoft Word and Excel. This makes the transition to using the platform for communication and documentation smoother and more intuitive for me. Excel, in particular, stands out as a powerful tool within the suite, providing functionalities I haven't found in alternative applications, and it integrates seamlessly into my workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps? I find that Teams within Microsoft Power Apps feels very glitchy and lacks features compared to other apps. The interface is not intuitive, making it difficult to use efficiently. Outlook also has issues, as I've experienced meetings getting lost. Both Teams and Outlook would benefit from improvements such as a scheduled send feature and a smoother, less clunky overall experience. I like that Power Apps is integrated with SharePoint, which is something our organization utilizes a lot and has a lot of other connectors at our disposal. It reduces our need to create an application in Visual Code for example, and do all the work of using the MIcrosoft APIs. Creating a power app can often be fairly quick and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Microsoft Power Apps? If we have more complex functionality with more logic embedded into the app, debugging can often be difficult. We have to use little hacks to debug the app which is time consuming. Another problem is that it is hard to work with the delegation errors. Making a simple filter using the "in" operator cuases problems sometimes, when this should be simple. Also, the data limitations of 2000 records makes it hard to work with this app. Often, our lists go up to 5000 records and we need to be able to pull in those records into the app in a gallery. Otherwise it results in loading issues. Another nice to have feature would be if the version control had metadata about what changes were made in each version, sort of like traditional version control. Sometimes I'll keep publishing incremental changes to work around this, but it will be nice to have. Another issues we've come across is if connections change in the app. Updating them in the app proves to be cumbersome and can break several areas in the code. Some of the forms and Low code have improved drastically over 1 year. The chatbot setups are easy now and functionality can cover major workflows. Used daily by the Innovation team. Being a No-Code platform for developement, Apps created will be free of issues like silly coding bugs, coding standard issues, and most importantly, updating to higher version issues as all these things are handled by PowerApps. PowerApps also let you create Apps really fast and easily. Plenty of templates are available with which you can customize the changes you need and you'll be ready to go. For example : If you are trying to fetch data from a Sharepoint list, initially you cant fetch more than 500 items. After tweaking some setting you can bring it upto a maximum of 2000 items. This much of limitations makes me steer away from PowerApps. PowerApps also is very sluggish in rendering the changes back to the developement screen which can cause confusion while developing. I like how the different sections of a form or any other kind of component for that matter can be beautifully organized into cards which are very easy to manage. Arranging them as cards can help you with things like disabling or making them invisible together as a group - for all the items present within the card. Microsoft has implemented the Gallery view properly which I fairly like because data inside Gallery is auto updated when changed in the back end like Sharepoint. I hate how bad PowerApps is at syncing data with their respective back end - be it an excel file or Sharepoint. Things are so horrible that sometimes if your logic is not working all you needed to do is copy the piece of code of logic , delete it and then again paste it for it to work - thats all you need to do to fix it and I am not ebven joking. PowerApps in its current state is very very unpredictable the way it behaves. I feel that presently, PowerApps is not ready to be used professionally. I can go on all day about how bad the apps look when are completed. PowerApps seem to work well with Microsoft flow. So automating email and other tasks from flow based on triggers from PowerApps is quite a reasonable thing to do. PowerApps working together with Dynamic365 gives a good experience for the developer while developing as he he can debug test run his app simultaneously. There is a seperate section which shows which are the variables and collections in use and what all values are stored. This is very convenient. The integration with Sharepoint is very buggy. Sometimes it takes very long to fetch/send data. Sometimes it fails to show data it has fetched on the UI. This can cause a lot of frustrations. There is not a whole lot of resources available which can help if you are stuck at some point. The look and feel of the output apps is horrible by my opinion.
