I enjoy using MS Planner to keep all my tasks in order. It's really convenient that I can assign tasks to others so I know they are aware of what they own and touch base with them.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It would be nice to be able to include attachments or photos in the tasks.

  ### 2. This platform organizes the simple and intuitive way to teamwork

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sorina Meria S. | Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner is a barebones planning tool. It has a basis for creating tasks and assigning tasks planned. The software has the function of triggering reminder emails and has a basic dashboard. Besides, this is an easy-to-use task management system, and we can also collaborate with teammates and track different tasks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There is some center missing features in this platform. The planner is designed to provide many of Wrike's features, which separate customers from Microsoft. More, This program application does not allow non-team members to participate. There are also character restrictions for task comments in this Planner.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This easy-to-use tool makes it possible to plan tasks and handle small projects. More, with the help of Microsoft Planner, we can effectively allocate and organize our time and tasks. Through this planner, we also set deadlines and share files.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like how easy it is to assign tasks to team members, notifications to Outlook when tasks are completed or due, and a good way to get an overview of where projects are.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Could look overwhelming if there is lot to do within your team but it's manageable.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team is now able to see where we are at with tasks, it holds us accountable, and it allows us to stay organized and strategic.

  ### 6. Could be great, needs improvement

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like its capability to set deadlines, create steps within a task, and view tasks by board versus deadline versus priority.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It doesn't make it easy to copy tasks or buckets. It could be great but falls short.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

This might be ok for group or team projects but doesn't fully work for an individual.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Because it does not solve all my problems, I have not been able to use it. I need a more robust option for my to-do tracking.

  ### 7. Microsoft Office's Project Planner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 24, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Simple, ease of use; applicable to Agile and Waterfall project management

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Easy to get lost. tricky to view completed tasks

  ### 8. Good task organizer

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I personally like it's integration features with other o365 apps.
Integration with ms teams is incredible.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

You need a o365 account with license to use it

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Please see the market demand before going for it. I have no personal recommendation for it

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To organise the tasks for different projects.

  ### 9. Cloud Planner Daily Start

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The Planner is effective in the cloud for others to see all the information necessary to get each individual task done without further communication with others.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

As usual, sometimes the connection is lost. This is not always easy to login to especially if your device is not updated regularly.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Consider the cost of Microsoft Planner to see if its right for you. Maybe do a trial offer before agreeing to monthly or annual costs of the program. Also be sure it works well with your device.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our major problem being solved is scheduling workers to the job site. Also, we can post comments that pertain to the scope of work and materials that are required. This makes everyone involved available and know who is doing what.

  ### 10. Great tracking tool!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2021

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Assigning people to their own tasks within their own departments.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Once a bucket is deleted there is no way to retrieve it.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Accomplishing multiple daily tasks and updating information within all departments.

  ### 11. Starting out

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bieke d. | Implementation Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I appreciate that you can assign tasks to people and set a due date on it. That allows for everyone to see the tasks and it's a good way to hold each other accountable.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There's not really a good way to follow up a completed task. It would be nice if we could link the task to another, to have another task show up immediately after completion of the first task - like a pre-requisite.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are starting to use planner more and more to help schedule customer visits and requirements that need to be done before said visits. Too early to realize any significant benefits.

  ### 12. Planner is the Hidden Gem in Microsoft 365

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theophilus W. | Programming Committee Volunteer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner is possibly the most flexible app in the Microsoft 365 Suite. You simply create tasks, give them deadlines, create notes assign team members. Its keeps everything visual and open and even integrates with office and calendar so if you have an alert it pops up.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The little support it has. I would love to have received a small training resource on planner. A small interactive training platform would have been enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Some competitors are airtable and asana. BUT if you are using the Microsoft 365 Suite Planner already integrates seamlessly.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft planner helps me to put a timeline and deadline on my marketing campaigns. I get to break down a campaign from creation to strategic implementation step by step. It helps me to maintain organized but you get to keep your vision and end goals right in front of you.

  ### 13. A fantastic planner to keep any project manager organized

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that users can easily organize the "tiles" with each task, assign them with deadlines/owners, and move them around to best fit their needs. I think Planner is better than Asana, which has a comparable use case and set of features for project management. There is more room for notes on Planner than Asana as well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There isn't much that I dislike, but if I could improve one thing it would be to integrate an option for reminders to Outlook Calendar/Email from Planner. Perhaps a checkbox to say which tasks we want email reminders on, which tasks should be on the calendar, etc.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am easily organizing the many problems I am solving in my day job with Planner. It allows me to easily visualize all my tasks throughout the week and how I can prioritize.

  ### 14. Lacking Basic PM Functionality--Lots of Room to Grow

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It is really nice that Planner can integrate with Teams, Outlook, and certain Microsoft products. The downside is, that if your company controls your planner and permissions, they may not have that enabled, so you may be stuck checking many places for your tasks.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There are so many basic functions that are missing for effective project management software. For example, in multi-step tasks, you cannot assign interim deadlines. It would also be nice to have tags and more options to attach documents or rich text.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to manage complex timelines and keep projects moving forward within our Microsoft suite. We actually abandoned Planner because it couldn't handle the complexity.

  ### 15. Work Planner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I liked how you can assign different task to other people. You can also track your own work and progress.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I wish you can do more with editing and adding more options for tracking progress.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

none

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Working with your colleague is sometimes stressful specially if you are noticing that things are falling behind. With the planner we are able to track each of us and create a checklist to make sure we do our job well.

  ### 16. A lightwaight kanban board with Office 365 for everyday use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Subhendu M. | Subhendu, Civil Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner is a very lightweight kanban style task management or light project management board. The application integrates with the entire Office 365 application ecosystem really well. The recent addition of the timeline view of the cards helps to manage the tasks even better. Another simple but significant thing I like that you could colour the cards, categorise the cards and status mark the cards which makes organising the tasks easy.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

You can not assign a card to multiple Office 365 groups making it a bit difficult to use in a rapidly changing connected environment. Also, although Microsoft positions the Planner as a light project management application, in reality, the Planner lacks even the basic functionality of a project management tool. Compliance wise the Planner does not support many ediscovery needs therefore could become an issue for large companies.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

If you are considering a simple and easy to use and connected kanban board then Microsoft Planner could be a good fit. Could be deployed with little overhead.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A lightweight task management tool where multiple people could be assigned and the cards could be time tracked. This helps in managing small collaboration group activities very effectively. Assigned tasks send email reminders on and before the due date, helping in getting things done. Being able to get notified in MS Teams and embedding cards in Teams also helps in device-agnostic collaboration.

  ### 17. Prioritization and Organization -- a good start

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Can easily assign tickets with tasks, checklists, collaborators, and move them to varying completion stages as progress is made. User settings enable you to share some tickets publicly and keep others for private work. A good way to notify other teammates of progress.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Not well integrated as an app into the desktop version of MS teams

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team workflow: each team member tackles one work stream, and teammates move tickets and re-assign to the next in line. Having a team planning board shows how much work is coming up the pipeline ahead, or identifies bottlenecks where progress is stalled.

  ### 18. Getting there...

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julie P. | Executive Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like being able to easily move the cards around and create new tasks or events easily.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

You can only have 20 items in the checklist. This is really limiting for us. We are wanting to use it for Process documentation, but some processes require more than 20 lines so we have to try to create two of the same card.
We would also like to be able to have a search function. So if we have a task or event but can't remember which board we had it on we could easily find it without having to click on every card.
You can't tag people in a certain card or task. This would be a huge help because sometimes we need to be able to tag someone on a card, or we need to leave a comment for someone in particular to show that we made a change, but there isn't this function...yet. Hoping they can add this.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Very easy to use and will definitely help with getting and keeping your team organized!

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Event planning, process documentation

  ### 19. Great tool but in need of a few updates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shanel J. | Corporate and Cultivation Events Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that it acts as my personal agenda, as well as a tool I can use to assign tasks to other members on my team. I like that it also allows you to organize the tasks based on type. For example, if I have a particular "Bucket" as they call them in Microsoft Planner solely for logistics, then I can refer to that particular bucket to be on top of my tasks for the day as it relates to logistics.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If there are 4 people assigned to a task, and you want to address an item with one particular person, you are not able to @ them in the comments. Instead everyone gets a notification that is assigned to that task. I also think that there needs to be another view option as a list instead of buckets.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My particular team uses this tool to track the progress of projects and individual tasks. I know my manager uses it as well to review my workload and determine whether or not I can take on further tasks at the time. This also assists in eliminating the number of messages we need to send to one another on other platforms like emails, or in Microsoft Teams. Since there is a comment option, we can keep the discussion within the task it relates to so there is no need to reiterate any details. For someone in my position, as an event planner, I utilize this to stay on top of my tasks virtually as opposed to using an agenda as I did previously.

  ### 20. One of the most necessary applications for team work.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Quin C. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It makes easy communication with the work team via chat, desk, video and audio possible and provides essential features that make a team of people defined as an organized team. It also helps people from different organisations to use the same technology to talk with and start a conversation. It enables you to download the files that you send in a chat at any time while this chat is still available. When required, it can be structured in groups and chats.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

At the outset, in order to use Microsoft properly, a very extensive study curve is needed, since there are communication-related tools. This software that harms me in my everyday life, I have no negative claim.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Excellent work tool, easy to implement and use. Feel free to implement it.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At the outset, in order to use Microsoft properly, a very extensive study curve is needed, since there are communication-related tools. This software that harms me in my everyday life, I have no negative claim.

  ### 21. Use and assign task in planner easily.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riley D. | Technical Development Program, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

You can model, delegate and monitor the effectiveness of the project in a group using the Planner software, and attach plans in the perspective calendar. If a job is unreasonable, the date will be shown in orange. You can finish a project with the Board view or just drag your card from Progress to Completion into your program.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

To delete a schedule, you must be the project leader / owner (i.e., the group / team that produces a schedule). You can not uninstall the project with the Teams App even if you are a project manager. To uninstall the plan, you need to use the Planner web app.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

You must activate team and make PM's the team group administrator, because it is only the admin who creates the mission.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of the planner is good as it allows us to construct a project, set a deadline, and tie the planner task to a perspective. One should have the team allowed to use the planner is the only restriction.

  ### 22. Convenient and easy to use.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vanessa M. | Laboratory Supervisor, Medical Practice, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's great to see all of my tasks assigned in meetings and by my manager in one place. I also like that I can enter my own tasks and keep track of everything that I need to get done.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It's not something that automatically opens when I boot up my computer (like Microsoft Outlook does) so I often forget to open it. My manager often forgets as well, so if I don't remind her to enter my tasks I have to remember to enter them myself.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

My advice would be to at least give it a try. It's very convenient when used properly.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Microsoft Planner to keep track of our daily projects including workflow review, meetings we attend, and assignments from our medical director.

  ### 23. Planner is Amazing at Taking Care of Tasks in Transparent Ways

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike W. | Director of Enrollment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The simplicity is excellent. The integration into Teams, SharePoint and the web-based versions is awesome! I love Planner because it prompts you to do tasks by email when the due date is approaching. And you can clearly see the scorecard of a project by looking at the Board and Charts.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do wish there was a historical chart for each person on a team in Planner so you could use that data as part of performance evaluations.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

It is part of Office 365! There is no reason not to use it. It is able to be organized by Due Date, Assigned To, Bucket and More! I love it so much.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of cluttering up emails with updates on Tasks, we can see the board and the chart to see where we are with a project! It is so easy! And the email prompts save the project manager time from harassing staff to follow u!

  ### 24. User

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It helps me keep track of what projects, deadlines and to-do's coming up. It's very easy to use and keeps you well organized.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do not have anything to dislike about Planner. It's very useful.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping my checklists/to-do list organized and all in one place.

  ### 25. Confusing UI, lacks some features

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michelle G. | Writer, Higher Education, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner is included with some Office 365 plans. Getting started is easy since it's already available.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The user interface is confusing. I found the organization options for cards to be too rigid for how I work. The roll of project plans wasn't well defined upon first login while browsing available options. Planner's connection to Teams needs some work.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Microsoft Planner may be useful for some workflows. I recommend testing it within your team before committing to using it full-time as the user interface is lacking. Working with Planner is not as intuitive as with other similar products (Trello, Asana).

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I attempted to replace Asana with Planner, but found Planner to be lacking in features. I haven't really found something Planner does better than Asana other than be connected to my employer's 365 subscription.

  ### 26. Simple yet Effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's great for my team as I can assign tasks to everyone on my team quickly. I have the ability to organize projects in a customized manner that fits for our team. It's easy to maintain and I'm able to get alerts as things are completed or are past due.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Within a task, I can't tag people or assign a sub-task to team member. Also, it's easy to mark something as complete, accidentally.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall, we have 20 + projects influx at any given time and within those tasks we have a number of sub-tasks that need to be completed as well. This ensures that we are able to track every item no matter how small it may be.

  ### 27. Great for Team Work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebecca W. | Human Resources Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that office 365 integrates between my office, phone, and home computers. I'm always able to use the software and have the same experience. Ability to access emails from any were on the move and respond to those that require urgent attention which saves time.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It is continually changing. I just get used to how a program works or looks and then they push out an update. This can make it a little more difficult to find what I'm looking for.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

It is easy to use and I couldn't do my job without it. This app helps organize team meetings and projects between departments which is great! Teams work great for quick communication across the organization - it gets the job done in other areas as well (file sharing, etc)

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use excel. In a prior position, I was responsible for moving our accounting platform from Quick Books to Dynamics GP. Excel made it possible for me to be able to maintain all of the reporting options that we had before, as GP didn't have the built-in reports that management was used to seeing. Excel also makes it easy for me to reconcile our bank and credit card transactions in a way that would be impossible without it because of the number of transactions we have each day.

  ### 28. Easy to assign tasks and check off completed work.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I really like that you can make a weekly view of the to-do list. You are able to add tasks specifically for certain days. It is also very simple to see who each task is assigned to. I also like the chart view on the program.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I do not like that there isn't a feature where you can add a task that is meant to be completed every week that automatically renews every week.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner helps to keep people held accountable for their assigned tasks.

  ### 29. The perfect bundle for all office features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica R. | Human Resources Assistant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The ultimate best experience possible out of all software suite packages that I use! Most of my work activities are with Office 365 programs. It is the best software for home and work requirements. Office 365 is a central source for most of the Microsoft software. The key insight here is that it is possible for a user to utilize the programs on another computer that may not have the program installed on it.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Each app is so robust that it truly takes a gargantuan amount of time to really learn how to work with them if you really want to use them to their fullest potential. There is no "easy fix for this" and you have to expend the time and energy to learn the "ins and outs" of each app to know "how to work it".

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Excellent tool, all the people could use it is an excellent tool, Microsoft has improved the experience using their products and includes a lot of new programs related and integrated like gadgets, really is very good.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software suite of apps are so Robust and you have them both on the cloud and on the desktop to use whatever way you desire. The MS software apps are the best money "can't buy" - meaning you can't buy any better apps than MS provides for each category you are dealing with. Their phone and/or remote session tech support is beyond the word "fantastic", and they immediately answer the phone when you call and get right on having remote sessions and finding and fixing the issues that need to be troubleshooted and rectified.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Martha C. | Marketing Specialist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I find the ability to edit in real time documents in collaboration with other distant members of project groups simply amazing and productive. The cloud-based attributes of Office 365 allow our team to connect, share, and collaborate in multiple projects across the globe in real time.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The migration from cloud-based documents to local applications may cause duplication of files or divert the work of others causing extra work to consolidate once again.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I can recommend that this is the best software for every industry. By using Office 365 we can be sharing our documents very much easily. In my industry, my self and my team can very easily share our information through Office 365 and it really helps us to achieve our targets.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This application has a great place in everyone's life. Because a normal user uses simple commands, they don't have any trouble using it for the first time. professional users' lives made much easier. I also use it for business use to keep track of expenses incurred. I like the ease of this software the most. It's very easy to learn what to do, although I used similar software in school years back. There are many tools to help you learn what you are doing though and is easy to learn. I use it both professionally and for personal business.

Every Unique task can be planned with required members, everyone get to know their piece of work and can be accessed for knowing the status of the total work in progress as well as the individual work in progress

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Can be accessed only when there is Internet, being a member of the team and every one in the team can see your work in progress, and the command from your team leader.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

The best solution for the team work.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Every one in the team comes closer, and feel like working together, you get to know the level of achievement of the team as a whole or individual.

  ### 32. less hot garbage than when first released

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Integration with the rest of the O365 suite. (If it weren't part of the package, I wouldn't be using.)

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Feels like this product was rushed to launch in an effort to keep from losing market to Asana and Trello. More careful thinking and decisions re functions were needed, not just slapping together parts from both tools. Also, inability to create multiple plans for the same SharePoint group is a real drawback.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have team members who needed something that did same basic task management as Trello but without team members having to go to multiple locations to update info.

  ### 33. MS Planner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The most liked thing about this tool is you will get all the associated tools to use at a single platform. Admin console has great features for managing users, mailboxes, ediscovery, etc. Even for the things they did not add into the GUI, powershell is a fantastic tool to be able to get details, add/change settings and overall management.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Must have Office 365 Business Premium, Business Essentials, or Enterprise account. No @ mentions, filtering tools, search bar, timer, or swimlanes.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I did not see much disadvantages so far but I think sometimes the file structure may confuse the users who are new to this. To get Planner, you have to subscribe to an Office 365 business grade account. Because of this requirement, it's highly unlikely that anyone who isn't already a subscriber would choose to use it. But if you have it and use other Microsoft apps, Planner easily links up with the rest of your work, whether that's information databases, email, or your calendar.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The data handling speed might be the point of concern in this tool. It has too many products that you might not end up using. But hey, take it as a free software!

  ### 34. Microsoft Planner for collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason F. | IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The best thing that I liked about Microsoft Planner is its integration with other Microsoft Office 365 tools such as Teams and Skype for Business. Microsoft Planner can also be installed on mobile devices so it can be accessed anytime and anywhere. Since we used it, it has assisted us with planning, organizing and assigning tasks to different members. Users can also attach files and photos, create a checklist to track progress on a certain project or task.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There are some basic things that need to be added to Microsoft Planner such as filters, notifications and search functionality. Updates are also one thing that needs to be considered. Updates are really large so a stable wired internet connection is really required. Aside from that, an Office 365 Business license is needed to access the application.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Microsoft planner is a basic app that allows collaboration within a team. It might not have a lot of features but it certainly helps.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collaboration is one thing that it can help you with. In our company's setup, most employees have limited access when it comes to email sending capability. With this, meeting confirmation is really a challenge. Microsoft Planner helps us with this since members can just view and accept meeting that is created on Microsoft planner.

  ### 35. Most powerful business solution

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lillian G. | Human Resources Generalist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Being able to sync with my work email is amazing. I've used other suites such as Google that can do a lot of what we need, but being able to share a OneNote for documentation and new employee spin-up is great.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I honestly wouldn't use it if my work didn't provide it. I have 2013 and 2016 at home, and to be transparent, I really can't tell the difference between the licensed versions and this subscription version. At this point, I'm not sure what happens if my subscription ends. Do I lose all of my stuff?

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Office 365 is cost efficient in the sense that you don't incur any costs in maintenance as everything is hosted in the cloud. With Office 365 you can work from anywhere, anytime and on any device. Business productivity does not stop because you're out of the office with Office 365 you can work from anywhere, anytime and on any device. Business productivity does not stop because you're out of office.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using most of these programs for such a long time and they are my natural go to. Over the years they have developed into a much more user-friendly process and I feel like once a user becomes familiar with the basics when updates occur it is easy to pick up on the changes. I just hate seeing it cost so much annually for the full package. It's flexible enough to have templates for beginners and the ability to construct unique templates for advanced users. Easily moves across programs and can be saved in numerous file types from .pdf to .jpg to the program's file type (will accept older versions)

  ### 36. Fantastic planner and organizer - and its free!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Commercial Real Estate | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like the ease of use of this planner. Anyone can just start with no training. It has many functions that help with time management such sorting by due date, assign to, progress, etc. You can also share and assign the tasks which is a real time saver, especially if, like me, I cannot remember if, when or to whom I asked for assistance!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

This is a basic planner, but you get what you pay for and it is free! That said, the only thing I would like to see is a daily reminder popup or integrated with MS Outlook to provide reminders.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Time management is huge for me. I work with a very busy executive and her schedule is a nightmare. By using Planner, I can anticipate items and act on them appropriately rather than receiving unexpected items and having to react immediately. The time savings are a huge benefit plus my executive has faith that I am organized and running the office in the most efficient manner possible.

  ### 37. Great Multi-Tools Program

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Linda C. | Project Team Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It is very complete for all desktops support services of spreadsheets in sets being a great facilities everything very perfect recommend the best editor, work manager with word, excel, power point, creating personal documents, as well as plants, being able to edit them in the cloud, making access by cell phones and computers of various forms and facilities.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If you want to share different content on a team with different people you need to modify the permissions via the SharePoint back-end and changes in SharePoint can lead to the team working incorrectly.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Office 365 helps me stay in contact with customers and makes me able to respond quickly in a timely manner. It helps my business run smoothly. The software is easy to use and very organized. I am able to locate what I need quickly without wasting time searching for things.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are primarily using Teams as a collaboration platform for use with external vendors/contractors. The simplicity of adding guest accounts via Azure has made this a great platform for us and fairly simple to use. Our biggest issues have been with companies that already have O365 but have teams turned off because their tenant will try to stop access to Teams even when you are specifying the tenant ID. team is a great platform for collaborating with both internal and external contacts. It makes it easy to set up meetings, share notes and files, and chat with team members.

  ### 38. Microsoft Planner for Office 365 is a team task management tool

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jill G. | President & CEO, Management Consulting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner is a useful tool because it integrates well with the Office 365 cloud suite. This app allows an individual, or a team, to create, assign, and manage tasks collaboratively. More than a simple task list, Microsoft Planner allows the user to create “buckets” for different projects or major tasks, assign tasks to team members, flag tasks with colored labels, and monitor progress. It integrates with Microsoft Teams, OneNote and the Outlook app. You can add an attachment to a bullet list item, whether a file or a link on your SharePoint system. You can see assigned tasks in different views, i.e., calendar view, board view, or timeline view.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner has little room for customization, keeping the app simple. If I want more than the six allowed labels, or want to color-code to match another system, I cannot.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

If you need a simple collaboration tool, then consider Microsoft Planner. If you need a full-fledged task management, consider more feature-laden task management and calendar tools. If you need a project management tool, consider Microsoft Project or another tool that can produce project schedules, GANTT charts and detailed reports.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using Microsoft Planner as an electronic Bullet Journal for personal and business use. This allows me to assign, schedule and prioritize tasks and to check progress in several areas at once.

  ### 39. 1381/5000 It is a good tool to work on small projects in collaboration.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stever Jose G. | Senior Service Delivery Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

We started using Microsoft planner for those small internal projects of the area or between several areas and tasks that we need to have in common some areas in order to have a better control of the activities, Planner gave us a solution to be able to follow the tasks in collaboration and in real time in a friendly way.
Does not require any additional software to generate, make updates or modifications to tasks
It gives you information about the remaining, consumed and real time of the tasks.
we can
The options of adding labels to each task
Customize the "deposits" in our organization by internal activities, pre-sale or small projects that do not need a gantt "
You can add attachments to test the completion of the task or a guide to what has to be done.
The follow-up of the activities is very simple

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I understand that it is very linked to teams but I do not like it very much that for each channel of teams it creates a group of Planner I feel that it is not very functional for our use.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I recommend that you try it and if you already have Office 365 validate that the feature is enabled because I understand that license E1 to E5 have it available.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We resolved to have a collaborative space where we could have the list of projects or tasks of several people that would not require a gantt

  ### 40. Planner is okay, could be better

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kate Z. | Marketing Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The ability to give visibility into your projects so your team knows what is going on with the other members and where we are in the process.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

There are some functionalities missing like the ability to @mention someone in the cards.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

This is a nice option to share calendar timelines and create “cards” with tasks for others on your team. Before launching it I would suggest that people practice with a project that is not time sensitive to learn what the options are before missing a deadline due to someone not understanding

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project task management

  ### 41. Very good for communication at work

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jhon Z. | Sales Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Office 365 is fantastic for providing users with Cloud Services and managing things like email or office applications with ease. There are also some more advanced features that Microsoft does a good job of making simple enough for any admin to figure out.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

It was difficult to use this with Google products in general, like you'll find it tough to forward emails to Gmail if you want. Depending on what you need, Office 365 can get very expensive very quickly. Diving into more Azure services in conjunction with Office 365 will start racking up the bills.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Overall, It has been a very useful application I have started using Microsoft teams recently. We use it to manage and communicate within the team. We communicate with each other regarding issues in the office.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to manage business tasks and emails, and experience has been positive overall. Just wish they allowed better and more seamless use with Google products like Gmail and Drive. It allows me to manage emails, conferences, tasks, and schedules, all at the same place and with super convenience. Much better than its competitors.

  ### 42. MS Planner - Lightweight project management enhanced by Teams integration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Colin M. | Consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Simple to use, especially for those will little or experience of PM tools and methodologies. Integration with Teams means Planner can be a useful tool for simple projects or incorporated within Agile methodology for devops working in a Teams environment.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Lacks some of the functionality of traditional PM tools which limits its usability. Can be difficult to manage; you wouldn't want to use Planner as your only tool for large projects or teams.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

As MS Planner will be included in your Office 365 subscription, you might as well try it and see if it works for your organisation. The integration with Teams means Planner can be a useful tool for small scale projects that don't need more advanced planning tools. Think of planner as a more advanced version of a To Do list but without the features you would find in a full project management package. If everyone is on board, Planner can be a good way to keep track of activity across the team.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Good way to keep teams on track for smaller projects and for working with members who may not be familiar with more complex project management tools.

  ### 43. Everything I need in one place

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tina S. | Customer Service Specialist, Consumer Goods, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I enjoy using Office 365, it's easy to navigate and the graphics are exceptional! I liked the way it's really easy to use, not too long to download the software, and the navigation is really well done to where you can find what you're looking for, and use it. The graphics are really great and easy to use as well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If you go with the online-only version then you are severely limited in the functionality of things like Excel. If you have only the online version it has less functionality than Google Sheets.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

It has taken some getting used to since our company moved to Office 365 from G Suite. It does the job but was much less than I was looking for. Being able to have a cloud-based system that links with what most other people use is very helpful.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Office 365 is a very essential product for any organization. I am using Office 365 products from 2 years. It is an extraordinary package which includes Word, Excel, powerpoint. Designing tools like Visio. Collaborative tools like outlook, Microsoft teams and Skype for business. The usage of outlook, Skype for business, SharePoint, word, excel has become a part of my daily routine in my organization.

  ### 44. Microsoft Planner

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ted M. | Marketing And Advertising Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Office 365 runs almost perfectly; I cannot remember more than a single crash. This is an enormous accomplishment for a large organization running thousands of computers simultaneously when often a single program on a home PC or phone will crash a few times a month.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If you don't have internet access, you can't get to your files or your software. This is crippling if you work on/off planes as I do. I much prefer having local installations and local copies of files, backed up with a cloud-based service.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

You get the latest versions of Microsoft Office in your browser so there's no checking for updates or installations required. All businesses require spreadsheet, presentation, and email software. Office 365 ties them in flawlessly with their industry-leading Excel and Powerpoint, and the other sufficient programs of Outlook and OneNote.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a nice work environment I use a word and on daily bases, what I like about Microsoft software is the nice design and animations it has all the features I need like handwriting recognition for math characters and making any pdf editable with optical text recognition. I also like powerpoint and excel for the same reasons.

  ### 45. A very solid tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda F C. | System Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like that the only thing you have to do is pay a small monthly fee and your computer stays up to date on the latest Office software. What is even better is how you don't have to worry about buying all new software when you have to buy a new computer.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I dislike that they moved from a fixed price to a SaaS model, but I understand it. They have to maintain the servers necessary to support cloud support, which isn't free.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I really like the Office suite. It's solid. Other people use it. And I don't have to be online to use it. The ROI isn't there, since 95% of what I use it for can be done with free apps or web-based solutions. That all being said, it's fantastic. Just not a good fit for me.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's great. We often move between different conference rooms that each have their own fixed desktop PC. This way we can access files without having the file saved locally on each machine. It's disappointing that we have to pay an ongoing fee, but you get what you pay for. Microsoft Excel is more robust than Google Sheets, but you always had to have your file saved locally, which was a pain. This software is the best of both worlds. The robust software of Excel with the availability of Sheets.

  ### 46. Microsoft planner

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** jialu l. | PM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

The Kanban look board, and easily move around tasks, adding dates, comments and checklists. I can use it to schedule team's work very well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The chart function is not agile enough.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I think it is a great tool if your company are using microsoft products. Microsoft Planner is also a great tool to collaborate work on the same document.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Project planning and monitoring project progress, also weekly reporting to the management teams.

  ### 47. Project Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's Microsoft, so it comes already integrated with other software from the Office Suite, which is really great. You can have your Outlook calendar populated by the tasks if you want, and that is really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Because it's Microsoft, sometimes I can't get external people to sign in to a specific group and it's frustrating. I have projects where several parties are involved, and not all of them will have a Microsoft Office membership.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

Have your team buy-in so everybody is committed to use the software, or it won't be as useful as it can be.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing projects, tasks, due dates and working collaboratively with different teams.

  ### 48. There’s no I in team!!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I love how I’m able to work with my colleagues to be able to organize plans and teamwork to work on our projects! I can easily assign tasks to other team members. I LOVE how you can share files easily within the Microsoft planner !!!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

You cannot add non team members to visit files, send tasks, assignments , etc!
But other than that. This is great software!

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

This is a great software for Administration use too!

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’m able to solve my problem of sending employees MULTIPLE EMAILS. With the ease of Microsoft planner, I can send it one time to many employees!
The benefits are that it is cloud based so it’s impervious to machine hardware .

  ### 49. Still room for growth and potential, but a bit rough around the edges

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Everett A. | Technology Integration Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's a decent management tool that helps keep tasks and assignments on track. Its good for large groups and I like the integration with other Microsoft tools.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

This still seems like a product in the development stage. Its very clunky and its user experience isn't the best. Notifications, files, and updates can be buried and lost within projects. The methodology for the layout seems to work against itself and assignments can be lost in translation.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Planner:**

I would wait and look for other solutions unless your organization has it already included in their bundle for Office 365 (which was our case) and was easy to implement.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is allowing us to track our projects and assignments within our department group and manager. The goal is to be able to identify where a project is during the process, who is working on it and what part they are working on.

  ### 50. Simple, intuitive, and easy to use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Planner makes managing project tasks simple and easy

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I haven't found any features that i dislike about the tool yet

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a project task tracker without any extra frills (no code integration, sprint breakouts, etc) and Planner has made managing our tasks very easy
