## Microsoft Planner Reviews
  ### 1. Planning made easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter W. | Web Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

It's ease of use, with the clear labeling, filtering and channel options, it makes adding and editing cards incredibly straight forward, even for new users.
With Planner being included as part of Office 365, your team can stay and work all within one central application.
The ability to seamlessly switch between the web application, desktop app and mobile app makes using Planner on the go and on different devices very easy.
You can easily time spent on particular tasks, with Planner also giving information on who completed what and when in various useful charts and graphs.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Though on the whole, it is easy to use, the drag-and-drop feature can be cumbersome and hard to use, especially on long and detailed boards.
Users can post comments on different cards but are unable to edit them. Making it troublesome if an error is posted.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Planner as a team allows us to accurately plan the week/sprint ahead. Assigning tasks to colleagues, giving deadlines and an estimated timescale.
At the end of the sprint we can then gauge if too much work was assigned to a particular colleague, and if any improvements in deadlines have been met.

As with all things Microsoft, new features and innovation are slow to progress and it can be easy to feel 'locked in' to certain parameters, e.g. plans must be linked to a team, etc... As well, it's one of MANY ways to manage tasks across O365. It can be confusing to know what to use when.

**Reviewed by:** Glorimar L. | Information Technology Business Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

That is easy to use inside the Microsoft ecosystem, and it is not complex to create tasks on it. I like the fusión of creating a planner in a Sharepoint modern 365 site to be a collaborative planner.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I don't like that in the "notes" and "comments" sections you can not tag @ a member, also that you can not re-arrange the label colors. The comment field can be below the notes.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

So a team can have a clearer view of what you are working on.

  ### 36. Helps manage team projects

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Staffing and Recruiting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft planner helps to organise projects within a team, the bucket option helps to plan phases and you have the ability to assign tasks to one or more people, add notes & attachments

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

If you are a member of a number of taskboards it get's a bit messy and hard to organise, you can't just view a list of your tasks from every taskboard which would be really helpful!

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We integrate planner with decisions to help us manage tasks agreed upon within meetings which make following up on these tasks really easy. the bucket for each meeting is a really useful feature

  ### 37. A solution for team collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric C. | Account Manager, Federal, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 27, 2023

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

I like the way Planner enables efficient teamwork and effective communication. It makes it easy to share files between members through chat, video calls, audio recordings and desktops. These technologies allow different organizations to interact seamlessly. With conversation lines easily organised within groups or sub-groups, it is even more convenient for users to get their work done quickly while collaborating smoothly with team members who are miles apart.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

I find Microsoft Planner to be very limited when it comes to filters, alerts and a powerful search function. In addition, I'm often surprised by the regular updates, which conveniently require an active Office 365 Business licence for a successful launch - which can prove difficult if you don't always have a reliable internet connection.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner solves the problem of disorganisation and inefficient tracking.

  ### 38. Microsoft Planner is a purely professional tool for daily scrum activities.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner has inbuilt templates for a new user with the primary jobs of a software developer sorted, like new employee onboarding templates or software development templates.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Microsoft Planner needs to integrate task assigner tools like Jira, IntellliJ or partner with Atlassian, making it one of the best in the market with no competitors.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner lessens the burden for a scrum master to make the tasks assigned look presentable as well. It does all the background beautification and organization, allowing you to fill in the project-specific details.

  ### 39. i don't know how to utilize every feature however what i use i love and it's simple

  ### 40. Best Planner for Office 365 users

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Integration with other project management tools like JIRA & Trello somtimes is tricky.
While Planner integrates seamlessly with other Microsoft tools, it may not integrate as well with third-party tools, which can limit its functionality and flexibility.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Task organization: Planner lets me organize tasks into buckets, add labels, and assign due dates, allowing you to keep track of your to-do list more effectively.

  ### 41. Easy to access and plan for your projects with a broad view of projects in progress vs completed

The best part is where we can toggle around the documents easily and drop them into different folders based on need. Upload or attach related documents for a specific task.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

Everything works well. I am impressed and its excellent.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously we used to discuss and plan our projects using trackers created in Excel and provide hyperlinks to the related documents. **Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** SAMUEL K. | Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Microsoft Planner?**

What I like best about Microsoft Planner is the idea behind it and the work that was put into programming it to make sure that the experience of using it is as enjoyable and relatively seamless as possible. Being able to organize anything and everything that one has on their professional schedule into a simple user interface is invaluable, and being able to store the file on virtually any device capable of running the Microsoft Office suite makes it that much more meaningful. I really enjoy the palette of options given to the user of the program, including color coding options, different fonts, the ability to incorporate images, and really any other type of data that one normally uses. Lastly, I enjoy the fact that this software comes with occasional updates from Microsoft, making the experience better and better with each upgrade in multiple respects, (and those are free of charge, of course).

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Planner?**

The only thing I can point out as being negative regarding Microsoft planner is that there is a bit of a learning curve when using it the first time around. Unlike most other Microsoft software, Planner can get a little challenging the first couple of times one uses it, thus somewhat defeating the point of the entire software, as it was made to prevent hassle and induce simplicity - that simplicity seems to only take place after about a week or so of consistent use and the practice that comes along with it. Most of the challenge associated with using this software at first relates to the fact that most of the features are hidden under obscure tabs, some features need to be accessed via multiple clicks, etc. Overall though, once the learning curve is overcome, it is a good software to use daily.

**What problems is Microsoft Planner solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Microsoft Planner is solving a couple of problems. First, I no longer carry a ringed binder containing all of the tasks on my schedule for the week ahead. I no longer need to write down the events on my schedule by hand, which saves a significant amount of time. I also no longer need to rely on the aforementioned binder needing to be beside me at all times, which is a very good thing as being without it would put my day into disarray - now, all I need is my desktop or phone to see what is ahead for me. It is a very convenient software after the learning curve is overcome, and the benefits, especially efficiency and reliability, are noteworthy.
