On a large global organization network, a search for a particular document brings up all files with a hit for that keyword. I don't use Microsoft OneDrive that often. As the graphic designer for my company, I am the only team member that uses a Mac computer. Cloud storage has a specific folder/destination on computer, which is different than local drive and documents/desktop, making navigation trickier, I'd rather it just save everything on my computer, the auto-save feature has to be turned on manually and slows down the computer to a crawl, crashes frequently and updates are annoying and frequently slow down the computer and crash other applications. While it is convenient (my organization didn't have online storage like OneDrive before), it has an awful user interface. It feels very unstructured, and the search isn't helpful for may cases. Especially in a professional setting, I strive to keep my files organized, but there is simply no easy way to do it with OneDrive. We also had issues with transferring files from leaving staff members to current ones, and lost file access in the process. It is not easy to share files with clients outside the organization.

I don’t like how it can be complicated to share with others. It isn’t as easy to collaborate and comment in. I don’t like how the online version doesn’t have the same features as desktop for PowerPoint and excel, which I typically need a lot. I don’t like how you can’t add what people have shared with you to your onedrive it is just under a section of what people have shared with you. I don't like how the sync from offline to online sometimes doesn't work right, or how sometimes it will say the file is locked because someone else has it open even though they closed it (sometimes it even says I have locked the file for editing but I'm the one trying to edit!). I also don't like the sharing options, it's confusing and difficult to figure out who has access and in what ways. For example I will try to copy the sharing link so that anyone with the link can view and I still get requests for access. Microsoft has changed the login processes and the interface for sharing files. One used to be able to login with almost any account, now must be Microsoft, must be business, must not have any other Microsoft web login connected. In the files it's not easy to navigate and the more you have the worse this is. If you try and use search to find the file good luck, it will all keep reloading the page so if you have to go down a long list, you will never get past the first page. At least we can't. One Drive was a part of it of the natural Microsoft eco system. However, we found that our design files continuously corrupted. Working through Teams with files stored on One Drive meant multiple users could technically work on the same file. However, in the world of design this is guaranteed corruption. What was worse is that our shared Microsoft documents were also corrupting. Despite version history, it created for an extraordinary number of lost staff hours. The file manager is very limited, after I uploaded somehing, I have no option to manage or view it in the browser view, mostly it can only sync my files, upload, download, but I need to manage my files on my PC in the sync folder. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part of Microsoft One Drive is the ability to store files on the app. It's also easy to access from the desktop and works very well with Windows programs. All the computers in the dealership that I work in do come with this program on it already, which has been helpful. It removes the need for new employees to implement the tool and can be an easy way to share files such as sheets for new guests, information that we should all have access to. It's not always easy to rely on as I've been quite sure I saved something in the One Drive and in all actuality it did not really save. This is something I've come to know and accept of the program but it does take away the whole purpose of it. Why else use a storage system? It has been hard to remember to use the program as well and because of that we have pretty much gone away with it. We would prefer to use Google Docs instead, honestly. 1. Uploading / copying .. etc takes a very long time.
2. There was a bug of locking a user (me) out of folders they're invited to share.
3. The UI is very uninviting, like it works but I'm not excited about using it, a bit boring and less spacious in comparison to other products.
