What do you like best?

The authorization feature and mapping network drive are probably the best things of Sharepoint Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The connection speed is rather slow sometimes, depending greatly upon the company infrastructure, also the user interface is sometimes confusing (example: When you copy your link and send to other person, their screen appears differently from your screen) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you implement an ERP projects, you should use Sharepoint as of an effective way to manage your project files Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

During ERP project implementation it is crucial to have a place to manage all files and data collected upon each phase. I have used several other apps such as Tortoise, Onedrive, Boxdrive, Internal server data management but Sharepoint stands out as I can easily assign people to view/edit the file, it also keeps track of the newest update so I can see if someone have uploaded new files at the exact time and date. In addition, not only I can view the file in a clean structure in web interface, I can also sync it in My Computer just like another Drive and do everything within it. If there is a large enough group of people that OneDrive just don't cut it SharePoint is the logical next step since both are managed in almost the same way but with a different point of view when dealing with permissions for the files, On SharePoint, you can make the files be public for the whole company or a whole team by doing a few clicks and that's a big difference between SharePoint and OneDrive Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

While file management is a lot better than OneDrive, creating a front where every file is stored and a web where the information is stored is almost a must and that is time-consuming. When you need to communicate a message then SharePoint is great but if all parties involved already communicated by another medium is double work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Even as a non-technical person, a little of HTML goes a long way when dealing with sites created on the platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Microsoft SharePoint provides first class ability to store documents of many types in easy to manage sites. Compounded with it's ability for lists and integration across the whole microsoft ecosystem of products - it is invaluable in aiding large organizations to segment their access policies and controls. Tagging, guest access, search capabilities, team and company sites all encourage the share in sharepoint. the ability to create lists on sharepoint and then use in powerapps and workflows is essential to moving what was lots of manual spreadsheets and procedures to automated solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

sharepoint can be a large undertaking and having an admin who understands the intricacies involved in properly managing users and documents to head off sprawl and unwanted access is key to successful implementation of the product. another ability that would be nice is to quickly identify all sharepoint sites you have access to. for some reason there is no way unless you have marked them all as favorites or simply remember the name to search for it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are moving the vast majority of our former network storage into Sharepoint sites that in most cases are auto generated by our Microsoft Teams setup. This allows easy management of access control as well as better search and storing capabilities. we have been able to automate many manual spreadsheets such as employee tracking, onboarding and offboarding, internal requests and the like using sharepoint alongside the other microsoft products. we have also implemented an intranet site. What do you like best?

There are many things I like about Microsoft Sharepoint. So below are few upsides of using Sharepoint:

1. It provides the best cloud collaborative platform to your organization.

2. You get a huge storage option for your organization

3. You can create multiple sites with multiple people having access to it

4. Sharepoint also gives you an option to create Public sites

4. You also can share any type of files ad folders across those teams

5. You can even get Advance Threat Protection with many of te Office plans which includes sharepoint.

6. Integration of Sharepoint with many applications like Microsoft Teams, Outlook and other office apps is very good

7. You can even map your sharepoint in your local desktop, laptop, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

There are not much things which I dislike about Sharepoint but I have listed down a few downsides below:

What do you like best?

It is the next best thing to asking a coworker how to do something, doing a call or text is kind of intrusive since it's known to break concentration and unlike when you are the office and can see if someone is able to help you I feel anxious when asking someone directly for help, sharepoint has many uses but mainly is a huge help guide that I can learn from my coworkers and contribute easily since it's almost like writing a Word document. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Permissions is hard to understand, when a Page is private or Public for all employees is easy to understand, but there are many in betweens, I know it is possible to add a whole group for a semi private page but I honestly gave up, it is easier to just add users manually whenever someone else needs access instead of doing group permissions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Work directly on SharePoint, doing a draft on Word and then transfering to SharePoint is just doing double work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is a great tool for sharing knowledge and collaborating with coworkers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Started using this tool recently and it has become a vital part of the job. We use it to share updates about work and follow sites which are of use of use and we wish to keep a track of like our internal updates and documents for policies and notices. It is easy to use and keeps the data safe. Can link it to sites and post updates on sharepoint for sharing news and announcements with coworkers across the globe. It has good access control so can be customised for different teams within the company to limit access of specific folders and files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The user interface could be easier, it can be quite confusing for someone who has not used MS Sharepoint previously and navigation seems tricky at first. The folder structure could be made more clearer to the user. The tool can be a bit slow while handling requests such as file deletion or granting an access and the changes don't always reflect immediately but this is not critical. Also, too many features and customisation options can leave the user overwhelmed and better support could be provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Very versatile tool and good for collaboration and sharing information Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

It does not fully integrate with Microsoft Office suites. Also support can take up to three days to respond. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Many reasons to have it, the first is that you can store everything that is important in your organization and the second is the security it conveys. SharePoint is the most suitable program to manage files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Microsoft SharePoint is far better than the regular share folders as it makes easy to upload and download almost every kind of files. It's been a year for me now using the SharePoint and it already feels great to switch. It easily gets sync up with Microsoft excel and Microsoft word, I share my files with the shareable links with the team and the access is too smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Moving and copying files and folder from other share drives are a lengthy process as we need to reach to target folder beginning from the root folder and it consumes a lot of time. Searching feature in SharePoint is not easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It is safe and secured for data sharing and access and a great platform over the traditional shared drives. You can definitely consider this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

The risk of loosing my data is minimal to none as it is completely based on cloud computer. All the files and folder are safe. I can start working on one file in one drive and can complete my work later using the other device, because of the platform independent nature of Microsoft SharePoint. What do you like best?

What I love best about Microsoft's Share Point is that everything is online and can be accessed from any anywhere on any device. I have had to change computers every three years. If I has stored my files in the local system, I would most certainly have lost everything. So having share point saved me lots of stress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Save space in the local system, no stress about losing files. No need to transfer files when changing the system. Lots of space and easy to access through the local computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

It is very easy to post articles! I also like the tagging system, which makes it easier to tie document to specific pages on the site. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The design of the site, at least at my company, is not very modern. The blocks of content look dated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There is a bit of a learning curve when getting to know how to be an admin, but once you get the hang of it, it's really not too hard. It's a great way to share content within a company, and it also provides a nice file library. The calendar feature also is a nice way to let employees know about upcoming events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It is a great platform for in intranet. Nice way to share company updates and stories within a company, and also a useful place to store files and documents in which you can control which user groups have access. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

When used properly it is a great tool for sharing content, knowledge and a time saver since you can easily search and find the content you need without needing to ask a coworker about a topic and since it is internal to the company and secure by modern standards is a great way to store sensitive content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

Please learn the difference between a private and public link. I was also guilty of this as many of my coworkers but just because it is in the company cloud doesn't mean it is accessible to other people unless that is explicitly stated, great for security, frustrating because that means asking hey I can't see your link is sadly common. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best?

Sharepoint is so versatile and efficient. It brings several qualities to the table: Dynamic, Plenty of Storage, Built-in add-on apps, resourcefulness. It provides a company a new and better version of an intranet with capabilities to become a full on website by utilizing Sharepoint Designer. The ability to create document libraries where multiple users can access all kinds of files without disrupting one another. Sharepoint lists to log input items and keep things organized with added intelligence (using calculated columns). Incredible compatibility with other Microsoft tools, such as Power BI (allowing the creation of a streaming dataset to feed via Gateway), Access (serving as the backend of a database, much easier and faster to run queries from it), Power Automate (create/edit/delete items, create/edit/delete files and/or entire libraries), Calendar (you can post your team's events to keep everyone in your organization engaged with all events happening across all departments). Apps within the Sharepoint interface such as Tasks, where you can create a timeline of events and sub-events; one-span, keep your compliance forms in one place where you can capture live signatures data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

An issue that has affected our company, I can say is the inability to allow files to refresh on their own in the background without having to open them. Previous Sharepoint versions allowed for files from a library to refresh on their own. This is a critical feature that has made us turn into different directions to obtain a similar result. It would be extremely helpful if such feature was enabled again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

What do you like best?

Sharepoint is brilliant for being able to share documents and folders between teams. I use it every day as part of my work flow and find that I can upload any essential documents I need to onto it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike?

The editing features for Microsoft Word and other software within sharepoint is quite lacking. It's not quite clear on how to do certain actions like how to remove rows from a table in word. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would recommend users get familiar with how to use the software before implementing it into their workflow. This would benefit them.

Additionally, I would experiment with the software a little bit to see what it's full features are so that if you come accross a problem You might find that there is a feature that you previously didn't know about, that you can now use to help you solve your problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sharepoint allows us to take our documents and other such office necessities online and become a paperless office. This allows us to be more kinder to the environment with our paper usage reduction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
