  ### 13. Intune - new interesting way to orchkestrate workstations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Janis A. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 23, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

No need for AD controller so no need to patch it and this managament is accesible from anywhere. Computers can access new policy updates from intune server. This allows to control every pc either it is connected to vpn or not. Very easy to reset devices. Can create full automatisation for workstation so no need for local support to do manual work after it administrator has created politics for workstations depending usersgroups and or other parameters. My collegues were very suprised what can be done watching popup window magics. No need to remember username - it is your email adress. Easy to push some settings like wifi passwords, printers, sharepoint settings. So no need to tell users corporate wifi passwords. Integrated option to install office 365 from microsoft cloud with option to chose exact office version and/or difference from current version. For example 2 versions behind.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Group policy restrictions that does not allow to work like with classic ad. It was complicated to start using it to get everything ready for everyday users. Had to change my logics from clasic domain controller to intune that is different. Different settings in different places. Many things are not automated and there is need a lot for powershell scripts. Also license costs are high for personal/ home usage. Also Microsoft license politics that allows one type of licenses for some max count ~250 each. No integrated solution for data loss protection on workstations like usb port blocking for data write. Had to implement registry hacks and third party software for this task. Did not find oportunity to create administrator account for group of workstations as there was no groups/folders like in classic active directory. I had workstations in several countries and local support actualy could login to different country workstation as administrator. Also imposible to connect to hiden administrator shares ( c$) so very hard to shadow copy data from workstation without user knowladge. Some printer models could not be pushed to workstations due driver limitations (canon) that require local default administrator account to be used while installing network installation of the driver. sometimes it takes time to apply new politics from server so during setting configuration you can never be sure if everything works as expected. Very hard to debug configuration and powershell scripts as there are very few logs that can be found on device managament console. Hard to find manuals internet as intune mangament console has changed several times and sometimes manual is from old version that differs a lot from current one. There are some regions where cloud instalation was not so easy or did not happen at all

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

Be very patient. Start using it when you have plenty of time to experiment and investigate. Change you way of thinking from Active directory as this service works very different and the rules are not the same. Sometimes it takes some period of time to apply new settings and you can understand if you have configured all good and you just have to wait or something is wrong. Remember that it is hard to find info about intune as it is not so popular as Active Directory. Also it has changed a lot since first version and very often manuals are outdated. So new vision and be pacient. Be ready to experiment so there will be a lot of wasted time in unsuccessfull experiments.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I built whole computer infrastructure for workstations instead of domain controller. It gave ability to control workstations without any vpn connection. The main benefit is that you dont need several domain controller servers. Very good implemetnation with all other office 365 products - like teams, sharepoint, etc. Good control over workstations. Just add license, enter name, surname and user is ready.

  ### 16. Microsoft Intune with Android Enterprise

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bikram T. | Information Technology Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 09, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

The new features with AE which is offered by Intune. Especially, now with Android Enterprise it is more easy to manage android devices using Intune. The best feature that i like about AE is to use managed play console, embedded within the Intune console which is an advocate path to deploy the apps and we can distribute those apps to other organisations as well. As DA is depricating, with AE its easy to manage BYOD devices enabling work profile in Intune.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

We cannot restrict the users enrolled in Intune from installing an app. So App restriction feature should be enabled soon. The app compliant features dont work for some organization.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

User interface can be improved.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Some app deployment problems with AE and they are helping on it. But with AE the google iFrame is entirely managed by google so there is nothing MS can do about it.

  ### 17. Quick and easy deployment of OS, apps and mobile estates

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 26, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Easy to configure, wipe, and deploy OS images and manage mobile phones via one console and easily implement and/or connect to on premise or Azure active directory.

Wiping devices i.e. client machines and mobile devices can be done in one easy step otherwise you would need to get your hands on the physical device to wipe or make changes to that specific device. This is great for when you are dealing with a lost or stolen device.

Pushing out apps that are authorised is really easy in Intune. Just configure the app i.e VPP tokens for iphone devices then push it out to a group so only some users can install the app via the comp portal on mobile and client devices or push it out to the whole tenant in literally 3/4 clicks.

Comp portal is a great way of managing devices and seeing everything you need to see about a said device by Azure AD/Intune. I can personally see what devices are compliant, when they last signed in, what apps they have install and push out updates easily and quickly rather than relying on old SCCM groups and the software centre which is usually spotty at best on a VPN solution when the users are usually very unreliably depending on their configuration and what type of internet connection the user has at that time.

Intune has allowed myself to use Windows Autopilot so we dont have to build laptops inhouse, we can just send out a blank laptop and ask the user to sign in and InTune does all the configuration of the laptop for us.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

When you find a user, click on Devices, click on the device it then asks you to search the whole estate again to look for that device. Its a pain and an unwanted workaround.

Everything mainly has to be cloud or at least hybrid cloud. If you have a full on premise infrastructure, moving to Intune is hassle to set up.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

None

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Currently moving mobile devices and client devices to Intune away from on premise AD. Easily pushing out and managing authorised applications and managing devices remotely using the cloud.

  ### 29. Overall good product especially if you are on Office365

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Intune is built into Office365. Since we already have an EMS license, we get Intune as part of that. It does a good job overall, such as being able to wipe remotely and gather information about hardware and applications on the mobile devices. Being a cloud service means we did not have to install anything on-premises to get Intune working and Microsoft handles all the hardware. While we did have to handle the Apple Certificate for iOS devices, it was really easy to upload and the service handled everything afterwards. Plenty of configuration options for iOS, Android, Windows Mobile, MAC, and Windows.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

It is lacking some of the features from other MDM vendors. For instance, there is no way to locate devices as the service does that to be GDPR compliant - we cannot even turn it on. The service is not able to setup segregation of company data into containers. We could kind of do that by using managed apps and halting the copying of data out of them. But the configuration is not as clear to make devices secure.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

If you are going to Office365 and getting the EMS license (or E5) then you already own Intune. If you need a basic MDM then it is a really good consideration.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Securing data on mobile devices. Also, using it with SCCM in co-management mode to handle laptops when out of the office. Ability to perform a remote wipe of laptops - it can reset a computer back to a blank Windows. This is used if an employee leaves the company and does not return the laptop - while we disable the account, it is still cached on the computer if it does not connect to the Internet. With a remote wipe of Windows, we can erase the data as soon as it connects to the Internet. Keeping track of devices including hardware and application inventory.

Intune is an excellent solution if you are managing Windows and iOS devices. If your company requires you can track device compliance, it provides an excellent solution for that as well.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Intune is Not for Macs. It might be the biggest drawback for companies that are trying to centralize and simplify the management of their devices. Deploying scripts is still not possible. Also, it lacks SSO ability like Jamf connect or Mosyle auth.

  ### 40. Simply Great ... when you know it inside out

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Simplicity with managing devices in the cloud and hybrid cloud/domain environments. I love how you can co-manage with SCCM and configure policies and baselines. you can manage your on-prem devices that are exist "off-domain". Also controlling features, ATPS, reset devices. Intune is a feature on windows device management.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Intune is not fully mature in my opinion, it has a lot to work on before becoming main enterprise tool to support and manage devices. I also have how you create applications in intune, where the source content go?
When transitioning to a new IT personal, it is so hard to explain what where... it is not super user-friendly.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Intune basically gives you Mobile Device Management, with great ability and how easy it is to connect to your on-prem and cloud assets.

  ### 41. Intune is better than nothing

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 14, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

It comes with your O365 EMS security bundle. It works for simple mobile device management and can help to manage Windows 10 computers. It has the ability to deploy or offer applications.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Not as robust as other solutions. Microsoft makes it easy to sell cause the license is included but that makes it hard to get the CFO to look at better products. It cannot find mobile devices. Installation was a manual process for users so you have to give them a reason to deploy it. This is a basic MDM solution, in my opinion.

For laptops, it only supports Windows 10. The patching is not really handled by the solution - it just allows you to control Windows 10 rings. For the most part, this is fine; however, good luck if you need to rollback a patch.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

If money is a concern and you are already getting the Office365 EMS license then it is a good product - definately better than nothing. However, I would recommend looking at other products if you need more than the basic MDM settings.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mobile device management - we deployed it because we had nothing and it was "free" with our EMS license.

I love the fact I can make sure the people in my team are on task, while still protecting the work that they do. I can manage all of my devices with the click of a button

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

The deployment team and the support provided with the app can sometimes be a tad slow. It also has malfunctioned a few times while we were streamlining the system. However, this was due to our computer network. We haven't had any problems since. There's not much else I can say about this product. Fantastic in every aspect.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

There are a lot of options available. Don't be afraid to try all of them

  ### 45. Get in tune with microsoft intune!

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Mental Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Microsoft Intune is a comprehensive program containing many different policies that take care of a wide demographic of different security settings. Also - i might add that if you choose to pay extra for premium management bundle in EMS, it is quite amazing!

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

If only there was a way to customize the dashboard. This is something myself and my colleagues all talked about as we noticed that there was something left to be desired. Hopefully future updated versions of the program will include this, in addition to some device locating feature to really tie everything together. Considering its an MDM (mobile device manager), it really should have that. Thats my personal opinion however.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

Sign up for the trial first before purchasing the program to see if it will help you with the type of work you do at your agency. Remember! this is MDM!

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For people and businesses running lots of Microsoft programs, I say Microsoft Intune is an amazing program to manage them all and helps to solve inefficiencies with regards to quality of work. The work quality is reinforced with microsoft intune as it ties together all other microsoft products, and makes the transitions between them almost seamless - preventing data from being left out

  ### 46. Good start for Microsoft on EMS market

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Security and Investigations | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Security features - for instance total control of information flow on mobile devices inside and outside of organization (emails with sensitive information) and control of applications via profile and compliance. Once properly programmed gives an ease of use for administrators to control applications and flow of information. Once its implemented and programmed correctly- you can just download the intune app on the mobile device and once connected it will automatically sync and enter into compliance, restricting any apps programmed in the policy, and also monitors localization and flow of information shared via email and texts.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

The learning curve for creating profiles and managing apps as well as creating policies is a bit steep, because it requires knowledge of Microsoft Azure and an integrated domain infracstructure with it for the organization to have a working EMS with compliance/policy structure.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

Recommended for people who already have a Microsoft Azure synced domain environment on their organizations as well as Microsoft Office 365 users synced with said domain.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are currently testing the application for application control management of mobile devices (administrative phones) and control of sensitive info that comes in and out of our emails.

  ### 47. Great tool to enable BYOD

**Reviewed Date:** August 16, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Allow your workers to BYOD without compromise on security

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Could be a bit unstable. required reinstalling a couple of times

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Workers want to BYOD

  ### 48. inTune for mobile devices works like it's supposed to but not sure if I really like it

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 06, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

I guess it's good that it helps users make sure their devices are secure so that nobody can access their phone and emails so in that sense it does keep things secure

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

It can be annoying to actually get the profile downloaded and installed for first time use and I don't like the idea that my company can have a bit of control over my phone

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

not further recommendations really for this.

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

securing emails etc by requiring a passcode on your device and to make sure the settings on the phone are up to date

  ### 49. Stable, user-friendly experience on mobile BYOD devices

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2019

**What do you like best about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

Prior to choosing Intune we tested several different products and found that Microsoft's solution for Mobile Device Management would best fit our needs. The support that Microsoft provides for initial implementations is terrific. We were able to setup out environment in less than 2 weeks and have devices enrolling in our production environment.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

We ran into a few significant issues that the team was unable to resolve. Seems that they weren't familiar our specific team's needs. After we worked through some of the issues we were able to work with a senior technician outside of the group we started with.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

Keep working through the issues

**What problems is Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an important part of our compliance strategy. Enrollment is fairly straight forward. The only issue we have faced is that Intune creates it's own Outlook Web app policies that we did not explicitly put into place.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management?**

So far, I have no problem using the program as it has provided me with everything I have been looking for, which is protection and flexibility for my personal documents.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Intune Enterprise Application Management:**

I recommend it as it is an excellent tool that has been created with the aim of providing protection and flexibility to the operations carried out by each user, whether they are work or personal documents.
