With Active Directory we had the problem we couldn't manage remote devices unless they were connected to our on prem VPN. With Intune it doesn't matter where they are. The adoption process is very friendly, I can erase the phone or tablet if it is stolen and manage the device's security from a unified console. Doesn't need a VPN connexion to manage the équipment.
