**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Thuy L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 02, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

What I like best about Microsoft forms is the branching option, which allows you to guide the questions of the survey based on the answers that the respondent gives you. This is an advantage over smartsheets, which does not have this option. I also like being able to restrict the answers to just numbers, which is another advantage over smartsheets. In the past I've used smartsheets with frustration at the results because there are always those people who feel the need to add additional commentary when you're just looking for a number you can add up to get results. The limitations with Forms helps with this issue and eliminates the need to "clean" up the data afterwards. I also like the ability to sync the results with Microsoft excel so that the answers are recorded automatically for you and you can access this through your SharePoint site.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

While it's nice that you can sync up your answers to excel, it's annoying that you need to add your form to a SharePoint site in order to use this function. I wish there was a way to do this without adding to a SharePoint because there are times when I'm helping another team create a survey and sometimes we just want to have the results sent to us without having to tie it to a specific team's SharePoint because many working groups are now cross functional. I also wish there was an easier way to sent the results by email. While it's possible to do this through creating a "flow", it's not obvious unless you're familiar with flow and you first have to know how to sync the form to excel too. They should add a button on the survey results tab that allows you to send the results to yourself or whoever you assign, similar to how smartsheets does it. Similar to the way you can have restrictions on answers to a single question, I wish there was a way to restrict the answers based on 2 questions. As an example, we had 2 questions where we wanted to limit the total to 40 hours when you combine question 1 and question 2 together but there's no way to do this.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Forms:**

I would make sure that your company is integrated with the total Microsoft suites if you're planning to use Forms. It just makes it easier to sync up everything if you have the other products such as SharePoint and excel. This is an easy tool to use that can easily replace smartsheets or survey monkey. There is an option to share the survey with people outside your organization as well but if you're using it for internal purposes single sign in options help with tracking the results to see who actually responded to the survey. Additionally, having this integrated throughout the organization is helpful in case you need to collaborate with others in building the survey questions because you can easily share it with another team member and have them edit anything for you. If your company is creating longer surveys, Microsoft forms has options to make the survey experience better by breaking up the questions into different parts to help give the respondents a "break" from answering so many questions. Bottom line, forms is a great product!

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forms is helping our HR department keep track of employee PTO and paid sick leave requests without having to field through hundreds of emails. It has helped greatly because we can seamlessly send a survey to our employees and review the results once a week in an organized manner. And with all of our accounts linked through single sign on with Microsoft, it tracks the respondents without them having to fill out any information. Our HR teams can easily collaborate on the survey questions as well.

  ### 9. So Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam M. | Marketing Coordinator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

Microsoft Forms is very easy to use and the ability to branch makes it so much more convenient for my purposes, otherwise I'd have to make multiple surveys rather than just one! I love that you can collaborate like with other Microsoft programs and can easily share the link with my coworkers so they can view results as well. I also enjoy being able to check the results in real time and you can easily export them to an excel for a different way of viewing and sharing.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

I do wish there were more ways to customize the look of the survey. If we could add a larger header, change the background to match our brand guideline and add additional photos, it would make it that much better for me. We also have legal disclaimers that we have to add to our surveys/documents, so being able to add images, or a separate spot for that would be ideal too! For now, we make it work :)

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to reach our large audience during the pandemic by getting their feelings and opinions on what has been going on, how our company is doing and when they'd feel comfortable coming back.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam L. | Communications Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

I really like how you can create professional looking and fully automated forms to enhance the user experience.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

I think the data could be collated better when you use a form for something other than a survey.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Forms:**

I would certainly recommend Microsoft forms for anyone who wants to create a fully automated user experience.

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have ensured that our users have a fully automated experience where they can complete and submit a form with the click of a button.

  ### 29. Long on compatibility, short on features

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eddie E. | Business Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

I like how Forms integrates seamlessly with the rest of Office 365. It's easy to kick off and it automatically points to office products.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

The government version especially is maddeningly short on features. It doesn't allow email directly to a specified email address when forms are submitted. You cannot edit the email address the forms are collected into. You have to go into the Forms product to check for submissions. There are also not a lot of features without combining with another product like Flow.

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Forms to collect feedback from our employees on how they liked the new Intranet. It worked fairly well for that and is good at anonymising responses, but again we were frustrated we could not direct responses to an email box to check them as they came in. It's easy and intuitive, which is great, but doesn't have a lot of extra features I have seen in other Form builder softwares like JotForm or even Google Forms.

  ### 30. User-Friendly Surveys

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Theophilus W. | Programming Committee Volunteer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

Forms is extremely easy to use and processes your data live. The forms are visual and take minutes to create. Also they have a good number of options on questions designs and formats. From basic multiple choice to NPR to Liker Scales. Once you obtain results of your survey the data is presented in a visual and efficient fashion and can easily be exported to a csv file.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

You are not able to share the results Visually. For instance, after I've implemented a questionnaire and I can see my results (visuals graphs etc) I am unable to share these results. It would be nice If i could share the view of results.

Also, please make forms more customizable. There aren't many Theme options.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Forms:**

I'd recommend Forms over Mailchimp. Its very easy to use and is a great addition to microsoft 365 suite. Microsoft is not great at picking up the phone to give you assistance BUT they have a lot of workshops. Some even take place in Microsoft Centers. They're nice inside. Trust me.

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Forms helps me to process data and gain insights immediately after implementation. I don't have to give my survey expectations and requirements to a team. I can do everything myself. By forms being easy to use and easy to implement I can design a survey that day and implement it the same day.

Also, sometimes i just need more information or i need a way to allow a sample size of demographic targets to send me data in the quickest manner possible. The days of waiting outside and having someone fill out a sheet of paper is unrealistic. Forms integrates well with the suite and makes my life a little easier.

  ### 31. It is elegant.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Abenazzer B. | Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

It is user-friendly, elegant and easy to use. I can provide a description for every question that I want to be answered by the user. I can use different coloring method to make the form clear and attractive or I can even use different images or themes. Most importantly it is multi lingual. I can also set starting and ending date for user response. I can also set branching rule for different questions based on the response of a user. The administrator can view response of survey easily. Its bootstrap feature makes it easier for user to provide response from different devices.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

I couldn't find any advanced feature like exporting user response to excell or response can't be stored for longer time.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Forms:**

If anybody want to create a user-friendly survey for their personal or business use i recommend them to use Microsoft form because it is elegant, user-friendly and easy to use.

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

                - To get feedback from our customer
                - To get feedback from our iternal staff

                - For examining people.

  ### 32. Microsoft Forms - A simple lightweight App to create Surveys, polls and quizzes on the go

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ritwik C. | Business Systems Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2020

**What do you like best about Microsoft Forms?**

Microsoft Forms is a lightweight App which is designed to please you with its subtle colors and interface to easily create Surveys, quizzes and polls. Its works on any browser and doesn't take up bandwidth. Can be easily used to collect customer feedback, develop strategies and educate staff on the feedback. Its simple yet powerful to gather responses in real time and measure employee satisfaction by automatically providing charts to visualize the data. The great part is that the results obtained can be easily exported to Excel and further going to in-depth analysis. Its easy to open in Web and Mobile browser and lets you fill responses fast and get fast insights. In regards to quizzes it can measure knowledge student or employee knowledge, helps assign grades and further helps to explain the reason behind those grades thus making it fare and legit.

**What do you dislike about Microsoft Forms?**

Since its lightweight and simple, there aren't advance features such as recording responses on Share Point, which Pro version has. Pro version has all the fancy stuff like how the responses differed in terms of answers and the turnaround time for each responses. Since Pro has all the best of the best, Microsoft forms only gets the job done simple and fast. Non- integration with Google sheets and inability to create a profile of a responder/candidate are some features which I wished should have been. Doesn't provide a concrete engine for tracking a group of different responses and forms, i.e. data obtained from different survey and and combining it to present a summary.

**Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Forms:**

Microsoft Forms will definitely incorporate a level of productivity boost in terms or feedback and responses received from the customer, client or peers. This software not only helps to incorporate quick surveys to assess and analyze responses to build a profile model but also includes quizzes and fun polls, which is again a fun and possibly interesting subject to kill some boredom and impart knowledge. Pro versions have ton of features which are worth considering, however this version never fails to impress by its simplicity.

**What problems is Microsoft Forms solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been using it to count the account numbers, financial class, account status, high level outcomes, low level outcomes, hold/issue log classifications, hold and issue log remarks. This is a great way to track financial crisis management and time entry compliance. Its a great tool to keep employee satisfaction at bay by analyzing the data returned. Sometimes helps to kill the boredom by organizing quizzes and polls to motivate and boost the confidence.
