What I like most about Microsoft Entra ID Governance is how it simplifies identity lifecycle management and access governance across the organization. Features such as Access Reviews, Entitlement Management, and Privileged Identity Management (PIM) make it much easier to ensure users have the right level of access while maintaining security and compliance.

The integration with Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, and other enterprise applications is seamless, allowing us to automate user provisioning, access requests, approvals, and periodic access reviews from a single platform. This has significantly reduced manual administrative effort and helped improve audit readiness.

I also appreciate the intuitive interface and policy-based automation, which make it straightforward to manage user access throughout the employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding. Microsoft Entra ID Governance is a powerful solution, but there are areas that could be improved. The initial setup and configuration can be complex, especially for organizations that are new to identity governance. Some advanced features require a learning curve, and the documentation can be overwhelming for first-time administrators.

The user interface is generally good, but navigating between governance features such as Access Reviews, Entitlement Management, and Privileged Identity Management can sometimes feel fragmented. Reporting and customization options could also be more flexible, particularly for audit and compliance reporting.

Another drawback is the licensing cost, as many governance capabilities are only available with Microsoft Entra ID P2 licenses, which may be expensive for smaller organizations. Rotating security keys sometimes requires quite a bit of maintenance. So, at some point, having someone assigned to do just that as a full-time job will be required. keeping track of the keys assigned to a large number of clients and the associated users can definitely become overwhelming. Microsoft Entra ID Governance is a feature of Microsoft Entra ID. This is very helpful in managing the Identity lifecycle.

It support the feed from HR systems like SuccessFactor to directly provion the empoyee accounts in Entra ID.

Microsoft Entra ID Governance is very powerful tool in managing identity lifecycle and access.

It really simplifies the identity governance tasks with automation.

It can provision the identities based on feed from HR systems e.g. SuccessFactor etc.

It can grant/revoke the access based on user attributes.

With Microsoft Entra ID, we can secure our identities by enabling strong authentication like Windows Hello for Business, TAP, Fido2 security key etc.

Moreover, Privilege identity management(PIM), conditional access policy & Identity protection add more capabilities to you Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
