Many were skeptical when Microsoft decided to scrap IE and write Edge from the ground up, but that approach seems to have been a great decision. It supports all modern design and development methods and functions and is continually updating it's security posture to provide as much protection as possible. I also like the fact Cortana is built in for search assistance. Being able to save groups of web pages together as favorites is a nice feature. From the start, Edge was farter than Chrome in many ways. I also became an Edge Microsoft insider and help pave app direction. Where do i start, Vertical tabs is so useful in a business setting. Most of the programs we use are cloud based and we can function and work strictly in a browser. opening all daily apps and having them on left side just flows better. I constantly have to leave my desk and the ablility to open tabs on a pc and then have access to the same tabs on my Andoid phone **What do you dislike about Microsoft Edge?** I still struggle with balancing multiple ecosystems with compatibility issues. For example, if you have an apple phone, laptop, desktop, etc., they all work seamlessly. But try to do the same with android and windows. I have redundant apps on my phone to work with Google and Windows. Now I have Edge and Chrome on my android phone and desktop. Having to choose how to search is also frustrating. You cant search google in both the Search Box or address bar. You have to pick one or the other. **Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Edge:** I know it is difficult to change browsers since most of the world uses Chrome. The good news is that you will still have all the benefits of Chromium but with a better user interface. Ease into it. You still need two browsers in case one is having issues. Use Edge to test and decide for yourself, but dont dismiss the application during the learning phase. Also, import your bookmarks for a closer comparison. Lastly, do you use Chome to store your passwords. Edge is faster in most instances and works well. Solved a windows based pc attempting to open a link in Internet explorer even though Chrome was the default browser. Also, I wouldn't say I like the design as it looks like a box. I'm using the Dev version 83 which has more features. I use the Dev version as it has the newer version compared to the Stable and Beta Channels. Suppose there are multiple tabs opened and I needed to switch between them. Edge provides multiple shortcuts even through keyboard to switch. Some of the extensions I found which are not supported for Edge, even just to get that added and some extensions are added but which executing, it throws error of unsupporting Edge. Also, It consumes more CPUs and memory than others. One day, I added SAML tracer in edge and needed to trace one URL request. So I opened private window in Edge and was looking for SAML Tracer extension to get that enabled but I did not find. I could be able to launch that extension on normal window but not on proviate. Then I search on google and found the solution to get that launched even in private window. There is a service under extension setting which helps to make any extension to be launched in private as well. ### 46.
