"Best of its kind"

What do you like best?

Dynamics NAV strength is its customizability. It provides you with a development environment as good as any real programming language but with easy access to the database and to the user interface.

Compared to some other ERP systems out there, it is also prices competively.

What do you dislike?

A lot of functionality may need extra software. For instance, payroll is not included in the standard setup.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Check out all the new changes happening to this product, Microsoft has started to heavily change its development tools, and also made it cloud ready under Dynamics 365 initiative.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It will keep track of everything you need, from the accouting, to the inventory, to the billing, it can even act as main system even for completely customized functionality. e.g. I've seen a cable tv company turn on-off channels for customers right from within the system, with many simultatnous customer care representatives working at the same time.

"User-friendly and powerfull tool."

What do you like best?

Microsoft Dynamics comes with a lot of interesting features. It has been a long time I am a frequent user of It. I love to use searching function of this tool that is really helpful as an shortcut. For new use Microsoft Dynamics Nav is quite easy to use and install. I do like how It allows us to look at the invoices paid by different dealers. In the last I would say Microsoft Dynamics is the powerful ERP I have ever used.

What do you dislike?

It is being used by our company for inventory purposes. It becomes sometimes difficult to track the stock. Dynamic needs some improvements for that as well as to edit or bring changes in purchase orders becomes complicated.

Microsoft is excellent at developing its products and I am hopeful for the coming new features and functions, they will be figuring our issues out.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Highly recommended for the companies looking for powerful ERP.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Microsoft Dynamics is a effective tool for reporting, keeping the CS information and lots more. It is an useful tool with the ease of use.If i talk about the pricing of this product it is a cost saving product.

What Discrete ERP solution do you use?

Thanks for letting us know!

"THE BEST FINANCIAL SOFTWARE WHEN IT COMES TO FINANCIAL REPORTING."

What do you like best?

Dynamics NAV is easy to use ad it generates reports which are easy for users to understand.the reports will always be accurate as long as the data is feed accurately.helps one generate reports on time.

What do you dislike?

dynamic navation limits the number of users using one database at the same time.its a cloud software hence it requires internet to use making it hard for users in areas with poor or no network.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Dynamic nav is very expensive hence no matter how good it is good for business ,small businesses cant afford it.its would be more favourable if its cost would be reduced, that way it will be affordable.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Financial reports generated on time. as long as i feed data in my system i can access accurate reports on time. these has brought about timely statements sent to creditors and proving openness and trust which is good thing in business.

"MS Dynamic Nav"

What do you like best?

Its simple to use

It has all the major Features of an ERP (i.e Financial, Receivable, Payable, Sales order processing, Purchase order processing, HR, BAnk Management, etc)

It is easy to customised

It is easy to get support

What do you dislike?

The inbuilt reports feature is not fantastic.

It requires a good amount of training and a lot of support for the initial setup.

Data Security

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Take more training to learn how to use the system. Repeat the training after 3 and 6 month - then the implementer suggests more efficient ways how to use the system and our users had experience and questions how they want to use the system.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I used NAV in the Retail and was part of the implementation process. It is easy to lean and has a very intuitive user interface that most people get familiar with very quickly. It is customizable and in the lower end of the price range for the features you get. However customization can get expensive if you need features that are not out of the box.

"Not very user-friendly and unnecessarily complicated"

What do you like best?

Honestly, I don't like many things about NAV. Our accounting department likes that it combines our multiple lines of business into one system, so we can send our customers one statement rather than several from different systems.

What do you dislike?

I wish that for my purposes it was possible to automate more things. There is a lot of manual entry involved. The system also freezes often, it seems like when someone is running a report or doing something it is constantly telling me it's frozen due to another user doing something, and it's incredibly frustrating given that whatever I've typed or done prior to that gets wiped out, so I end up doing a lot of double work.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

For accounting purposes, it combines our multiple lines of business into one system, so we can send our customers one statement rather than several from different systems. This was a big issue previously for our customers. Now all of our invoices come from the same system.

"Highly Customizable Software"

What do you like best?

Dynamics NAV is extremely flexible from a setup standpoint and can be customized to fit almost any situation. The interface is easy to use and familiar to Windows users.

What do you dislike?

The software is so customizable that it requires a significant amount of research to implement customizations, just to make sure all of the touchpoints are accounted for and posting is occurring in the manner intended.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

When considering a conversion or implementation of NAV, be sure you consider every single possible system interaction and work with your partner to thoroughly test all aspects of the software prior to going live.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use NAV for all of our general accounting, A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets, and Budgeting needs. The software makes things like periodic depreciation very easy and you can set up different depreciation books and use multiple books for a single asset if you need to. Permissions are set up at a user level, and are highly sensitive, so if you have specific people who only need certain levels of access vs others who need unrestricted access, it is simple to set those permissions up.

"Review for MS NAV"

What do you like best?

Has alot of built in features, reports details view, fields to put details to get reports on.

also has an ok search bar and can be self help a little on yourself

What do you dislike?

Report output is HORRIBLE. Most of us whna csv to use a useful report needs it in cvs.... everything is |formatted" which makes it visually ok but practically useless.

The use of the system requires detailed data inputting and cleaning i before can use properly so need to understand what you are doing being importing

Recommendations to others considering the product:

try to get "real data" when implementing because you cannot tell if its good or not without it.

find a good team to help implement the ERP system.... theres a TON of errors to fix, units of measure and many details you never thought needed to be included

have your team test ii out with all departments

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

we needed an accounting and erp system

"Lots of Power but lots of hazzle"

What do you like best?

I like it to be highly customizable, on the cloud, with lots of options and i consider it to be easy to install. It can take bigger databases.

What do you dislike?

The user interface and user experience overall. It's not comfortable to use. Menus and views feel very laggy and the views lack of customization in terms of how you look at things.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would rather consider other options before looking to NAV. Unless you really need the software integration with other Microsoft products. If you need to highly customize everything (Except for the views and customer interface) maybe this software is for you.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are using it as a Main ERP and it runs all the tasks involved in the process of the company. We found that it can do things that our previous ERP couldn't like integrate with other Microsoft products. It can take bigger databases.

"The best tool to any growing business."

What do you like best?

Was used for all accounting processes to generate invoices, customers databases and sales report in the organization I was working.

Was easy to run reports since all information you needed was in the software and it was easy to customize it.

It was quick to impliment and use these software with the power to support the growth ambitions of the business organisation.

Also enabled increased in profit, enhanced collabora behaviour and created experience for customers.

What do you dislike?

One thing that I desliked these software was that it required alot of training to fully manage it.

Also at some point it could run slowly if there were too many processes at once.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Would recommend them to Use Microsoft Dynamics Nav in all their accounting process because it will enhance the growth of their business.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Provided all features for the capabilities of sales and market tracking.

"Product Review - Microsoft dynamics NAV"

What do you like best?

Full Fledged ERP systems with Integration to Third-Party Payroll, Time Attendance, Sales, Finance and Operations Applications

What do you dislike?

Permission setup can get very complicated. Requirement of one permission leads to another and it doesn't show the Object ID of the missing permission.

Usually, when we apply one Permission it leads to another which is very time-consuming.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Invest a lot of time and resources while implementing this and ensure that you use a good reputable vendor for this implementation. We use BDO Solutions Canada despite their good reputation, the implementation of NAV was a nightmare and we are still reviving from the time lost initially.

We moved on to a different vendor and now recovering for all the losses.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Finance, Payroll, Time-Attendance, Sales and Operations Module to facilitate all departments operations. It is an Off-Shelf product and still be customised as per specific requirements.

"A powerful tool that fulfills needs across many divisions in the business"

What do you like best?

Microsoft Dynamics NAV is an all encompassing source of data that is captured across the business. It allows various departments within the business to collaborate together at maximum efficiency by streamlining the flow of information and data.

What do you dislike?

The system poorly integrates with other tools that we use, and thus a lot of data needs to be entered and/ or corrected by manual efforts that are both time consuming and frustrating.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

As a CRM system, it has it's shortcomings although from what I've been told the new versions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 integrate nicely with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Our company so far has not yet decided to upgrade that part of our system.

As an enterprise resource planning system, it certainly ticks all the boxes and safely delivers.

The biggest challenge I see is poor user experience across different interfaces within Dynamics, that end up harming the overall usefulness of the platform.

The problem, as with any database, is that it's usefulness diminishes dramatically when users don't capture data correctly. As much as I would love to blame the user, I cannot deny that the clunky interface has been a contributing factor when it comes to users attempting to cut corners related to data entry or resisting other best practices when it comes to using Dynamics NAV.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

TLC Marketing uses Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the primary Enterprise Resource Planning platform in our business.

It serves as our CRM system and client database. We also keep track of the sales team's and SDR rep's productivity via NAV and our revenue forecasting is based on data entered into the system.

Both the front end and the back-end of TLC Marketing rely on Microsoft Dynamics NAV to keep track of production flows and profitability.

"Poor program that is difficult to use"

What do you like best?

Navision is great for some accounting purposes, and viewing whether invoices have been paid from various vendors.

What do you dislike?

Overall, I have found Navision extremely difficult to navigate. Our team uses Navision for warehouse inventory purposes, and it is very challenging to track stock or item history. In addition, purchase orders can be difficult to edit or make changes to, and once an error is made, its very hard to fix it without creating an entirely new purchase order.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I think that Nav should be re-designed to have a better user interface that is more intuitive and easier to learn immediately. As it is, it is very hard to navigate.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are solving issues with invoicing and purchase orders with Nav. The benefits of the program are that it has better connected our supply chain and accounting teams to work more closely when procuring supplies.

"Microsoft Dynamics Nav "

What do you like best?

It is the best ERP software useful for mid scale enterprises as their business can be done smoothly within their company financial status. If you need one of these big, international, brand-name like Navision, SAP, Oracle, Baan and all that. Of these, the best

What do you dislike?

As we update from older version to latest version it becomes difficult because there will be a lot of stuff to be changed and coding techniques are also to be modified which is very laborious.

Although it may be beneficial for mid scale enterprises but it does not mean it is overall the best solution as there could be some nifty local package developed by a small local company who provide more flexibility, more of those features you need, and much cheaper hourly costs of customizaton, maybe even an architecture that allows customization without special training (like, business logic written in stored procedures, much more people can customize that than C/AL).

Recommendations to others considering the product:

NA

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We work on developing reports as per client requirements. It is beneficial as we use most of the sytem defined tables, reports and other stuff.

"This is the best erp i have worked with so far."

What do you like best?

Intergrates all departments together into a single database ensuring realtime information.

The data can only be accessed by authorized personnel thus very secure.

Realtime information helps in making critical decision making within the company improving service delivery at Highland coffee company.

What do you dislike?

Requires internet connection to work with it.When the internet is down the work stops.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would recommend any company with many departments within to adopt the system because it helps to intergrate all departments together into a single database.Realtime information helps in making critical decision within the company and helps to improve service delivery.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Service delivery have improved since every user can access data directly from the system instead of enquiring through email.

Financial statements are delivered to the clients on time since they come directly from the sytem.

"Best product for reporting (financial, sales)"

What do you like best?

First of all it is user friendly product. it's very easy to import/export any reports from program. i am financial analyst and i need many type of reports for calculating some ratios, also prepare budget and forecast future of of sales, purchase, operation expenses. It very helpful to prepare financial reports such as management report, cash flow, balance sheet and income statement. before i had been used 1C ERP and using this product i have understood that 1C is only helpful for retail it is not comparable to Microsoft Dynamics. it have many type of control, which gives more chance to reduce risk of mistakes.

What do you dislike?

While the Microsoft Dynamics marketplace contains many useful third party add-ons, it can be time consuming and difficult to distinguish the many add-ons from multiple partners due to similarities and overlap in feature sets and the challenge of assessing the quality of the partners and their products.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV "

What do you like best?

Customizable to the nth degree. Dynamic Nav allows customization in so many areas. We have added new modules, new table, new reports, etc...with the help of our Dynamics Vendor.

What do you dislike?

It requires a 3rd Party vendor to make changes. This is a programmable software that relies on coding so a programmer is needed and we do not have one in house as we are a small company. However we have a test database that the Vendor adds code to that allows us to test before moving the new code to production.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

We went from MAS 200 to NAv 5.0 , we upgraded to NAV2103R2 and are now looking into Dynamics Web. While it requires a 3 party vendor to assist us, we have found a great one that we count on for assistance and customization

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Reporting allows us to analyze what product is selling, what we need to order, etc...Financials also help know which direction we need to improve and where we are exceling.

"Great for small companies"

What do you like best?

The system stores so much information for your business. Easy to customize for any user and easy to use.

What do you dislike?

This software is harder to learn. It's probably best to go through training with a NAV expert and customize your portal to how you need it. The time to take to learn how to use this software is a huge investment for any company, but the quality of the product makes it well worth it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This software is great for pulling reports, storing customer information, and anything else you could need it for. If you use all Windows products, this is a must have.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

All of our orders are processed through NAV. This is a great tool for our small business because it sorts B2B and B2C. We can easily pull reports daily with this software.

What do you like best?

Navision is one of the best applications I have worked with. Ease of use and great technical support make this a product that is simple to use.

What do you dislike?

Sometimes loading of the application is slow, but that is due to our environment more than anything else. In the future, we plan to build a more robust environment that will hopefully make the speed faster.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Great product and easy to usel

"Excellent Piece of Software"

What do you like best?

My review comes from the perspective of an IT professional who works for a Microsoft Dynamics reseller, so I guess I have a certain amount of bias. That being said, I have been using Microsoft Dynamics NAV and here is what I like best:

Firstly, it is really easy for the developers to work on. They have access to all the source code of the system and a development environment is available out of the box. Additionally, there is an entire module of the system (RapidStart) devoted to helping the IT professionals migrate data into your system during your primary implementation. Additionally, from a developer's perspective, there are a lot of pre-packaged functions in development environment making it quick to do development that might take a bit longer in other programming languages.

Secondly, it is very easy to get data from the NAV system by creating queries/pages and oData feeds. These oData feeds will allow you to access your data from Excel PowerPivot, PowerBI, or other similar tools.

Thirdly, I like that the user interface is very easy to personalize (i.e. add and remove action buttons, fields, navigation buttons, etc. and create personal views of data to see later) and also your IT department can add and remove fields, pages, etc. from user interface for entire groups of users. Additionally, elements of user interface are automatically removed based on your license configuration and permissions of users.

Fourthly, in general the user interface is very attractive with large nice-looking icons, tiles to direct users to the tasks they need to do each day, etc.

Fifthly, as I understand it, NAV offers very good value compared to other systems. It is fast to implement and offers wide functionality.

Fifthly, Microsoft has a roadmap for this solution and is releasing updates every month and a major release every year (which is good). They have also done a lot to make the solution easy to upgrade.

What do you dislike?

Firstly, I think the charts feature in NAV is not as great as some other solutions I have used (but they make up for this by allowing you to embed a PowerBI dashboard into your system in latest version of NAV).

Secondly, the workflows feature is not as good as in Microsoft Dynamics CRM (then again it may be better than other ERP systems, plus it is possible to integrate CRM and NAV together which is nice).

Thirdly, sometimes it is challenging to understand the link between the various types of ledger entries in NAV, but this might simply be a challenge in any ERP system. It sometimes is challenging for example to reconcile the G/L with inventory ledger if you are using any of the features such as automatic cost posting to G/L, automatic cost adjustment, and expected cost posting. Additionally, in some versions it is not so easy to reverse invoices, but they have made up for this in latest version by allowing to cancel or adjust invoices (while still keeping a complete audit trail).

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

My employer resells this solution, but also uses it for our own accounting. The main problem is keeping track of accounts receivable and A/P, keeping track of expenses, etc.

"Highly customizable ERP/Accounting software platform that is easy to use"

What do you like best?

What I like best is the ease of use to export tables and specific views into both Microsoft Word and Excel. The majority of the time I export the GL entries that I would need to review/reconcile into excel and all it take is update my table filters and hit "CTRL" + "E"

What do you dislike?

Dynamics NAV is highly customizable to the point where it can be overbearing and can actually cause functionality issues. Because it so customizable for your purposes you will need to find partners/vendors for the products/solutions that you are looking for that will come at an increased cost.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We now have a pretty reliable ERP/Accounting software solution that allows the company to have the tools and visibility to run our business as efficiently as possible. We will be upgrading the newest version of Dynamics NAV(2015) and this will bring a new host of solutions that we will need to learn how to use.

"Excellent ERP solution from Microsoft"

What do you like best?

It is a powerful and fully featured ERP software that integrates well into other microsoft products.

What do you dislike?

NAV is expensive, difficult to master and it can be challenging to find a quality Microsoft Partner. Microsoft partners are expensive and bill the minimum for everything they do.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The most important thing is picking a great partner. Find one that is willing to understand your business and work within your time frame.

"Have been user and developer for over 15 years"

What do you like best?

Ease of customization that allows the end user to meet their individual needs. This product is extremely flexible and gives the end user the ability to meet business specific requirements without having to purchase additional software.

What do you dislike?

Frequency of updates that require continual costs even though little has changed. Need a better way of applying updates when customizations have been completed. The yearly upgrade cycle is just a bit much.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you fully scope out any gaps prior to implementing and plan customizations accordingly to prevent un-needed duplicate work.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Allows us to fully manage our business from manufacturing, distribution areas through to the sales cycle. Allows us to process our own payroll in-house without needing a full-time payroll clerk. Provides excellent reporting capabilities with Jet Reports Add On and other tools that are available. It has allowed our company to streamline many business processes and save money in a down-turn of the home goods manufacturing industry by requiring less staffing to perform key roles in the company. It provides excellent feedback to managerial staff for the decision making process.

"Good"

What do you like best?

Ability to integrate all departments like HR, Accounts, Marketing, Warehouse, Services, etc. NAV works fine in a mid-sized manufacturing marketing company.

What do you dislike?

Flexibility is not that much, and it lacks simplicity, as a comprehensive application, a normal user will feel bad, a lot of ways to reach a specific area will actually confuse a user. And it needs lots of entries for a good result.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Comparing the price, it is not recommended for small or mid-range companies. But if a firm can afford the price, it is good.

Almost all finance and account related problems can be solved.

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV is now Dynamics 365"

What do you like best?

Dynamics 365 is the one stop shop for all of my business needs. It allows me financial management and the ability to integrate sales and marketing services into project management so that I am fully aware of how each project is doing and when then will be completed.

What do you dislike?

Microsoft is software specific so if you are using other software, you have to make the switch.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I have been able to use Dynamics 365 in all of it potential to really streamline my business productivity.

"Great for warehousing companies, especially 3PL's"

What do you like best?

In the newest version, 2016 edition, there is now support for tablets and smartphones, so you can view your data right from any device!

What do you dislike?

Migration between versions can be difficult if you use a lot of custom code and API's to interface with it, and they release a new edition every year, so we do not upgrade every year because we have quite a bit of customization.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Its definitely a great product for 3PL's and the new webApp and smartphone apps make it a great option, you can even give your customer smartphone access to your server to look up their orders and status, which is great, it will minimize the amount of calls from your customers for sure.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are now able to support over 75 companies within our version of Dynamics NAV and we only need to load one client on our workstations in order to handle all of those 75+ companies. It has minimized our software needs down to just one or two programs when it used to be 10-12 different programs!

"Short overview Nav2013R2"

What do you like best?

Basic easy to use package, suits small to medium enterprise.

What do you dislike?

No CMMS analysis, i.e. Fixed Asset register and CMMS need to be integrated, however separate bolt on products are available. No user security feature, unless you obtain another bolt on (suggest Mergetool).

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you use Navision stay with the out of the box features, do not customize. Customization leads to issues down the track. Ensure your vendor maintains adequate system documentation during implementation, upgrade or modifications. Best advise - Remember accounting packages have been around for a long time. Know what you want to capture and then let the system do want it has been designed for; do not try to modify the system to your way of working, more than likely its is the business processes that more than likely need to change. System implementation is more about change management than system design.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

"Microsoft Dynamics NAV (Serenic)"

What do you like best?

The software is very easy to use. I did not have to read a manual to learn how to perform basic functions because the software basically walks you through every step.

What do you dislike?

The software requires frequent updates. Organizations are not able to install the updates their self, but have to hire a consulting company that works directly with the software. The cost of hiring these consultants can become very expensive.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

It's a very pricey investment so please consider all options before investing in this software.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We use it for our accounting software, budgeting, and reporting needs. Stops duplicate checks and invoices from being processed in error.

"Very Positive. Easy to use and administer"

What do you like best?

It's fairly intuitive. Once people start to use it, they generally pick it up quickly.

What do you dislike?

On my current version, there is no search for a form you want to get to. So, you have to remember where things are. This is fixed on the current version

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Nav handles our order to cash processes for both make to order and make to stock.

"Navision is a good program for processing companies"

What do you like best?

Easy to Navigate, helpful "help bar". Everything is categorized nicely. Lots of, what I would call easy buttons, for a quick look up

What do you dislike?

Some times things do not connect to each other. And you have to do a little more research to find answers to your reports.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

If you are coming from and Older version is is a little difficult to navigatge at first, but after you learn it, it is very user freindly.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Invoicing in a timely manner. You can send the invoice to customer via email real time, once product is shipped.

"Functionality, customizable, ease of use"

What do you like best?

NAV has so much more functionality for our accounting department than the system we were using prior (SX). I really like that you can customize pages to fit your needs and wants and it's not a "one size fits all" type of software. I also really like that there's a "test" function so that we can get more comfortable with certain aspects of the software without messing up our financials.

What do you dislike?

I don't think some of it's functions are super intuitive and it seems like we are always having to go back to Microsoft to customize areas for it so that it fits our needs rather than certain functions being already included with the package. There also seems to be a lot of upkeep and maintenance with it so it seems like we are getting kicked out of it often so that something can be updated.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

There's a lot that the software can do but it takes a while to master the software and understand how to navigate it. I would recommend customizing everything you can to fit your roll so that it's easier to navigate in the beginning.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's definitely been a benefit to our accounting department and has helped streamlined some areas of my position. It's compatible with a lot of other software so it's cut down the time it takes me to complete certain tasks and upload data

"NOT User Friendly"

What do you like best?

You can use a lot of the same commands as other Microsoft programs, such as cut, copy and paste etc. There are many different reports you can run, however they are always not clear

What do you dislike?

A lot of the times it won't let you do something and it gives you an error message. The error message is very unclear and most of the time does not tell you what you need to fix.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Make sure you have a good support team because there are a lot of error messages. There also is not a lot of websites that can help you with problems. Other programs I have used you can google questions and you will find a chatroom with the answer. Most chat rooms for this program are over 5 years old.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I am able to filter GL accounts by date and analyze data.

I can export data very easily into excel in any module I am in.

"Great Database - Not very user friendly!"

What do you like best?

It's a great ERP system that we have been able to use to keep track of multiple things on very different global markets.

What do you dislike?

I've used NAV for different things. I am currently using it for HR purposes, and the can do a lot of things, but at the same time it can't. There is a lot of manual uploading of documents that takes place unlike most other HRM systems.

On the Ops side, my experience was that you always wanted to double and triple check your work, because an error made in NAV is very difficult to correct and it affects multiple things.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Amazing program, not as user friendly as other systems out there. Great for global implementations.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Like I mentioned before, the system is phenomenal to keep track of inventory, sales, finance, payroll, and even HR.

"Customizable, Tailormade ERP - excellent for Small and Medium "

What do you like best?

- Easy to use navigation

- Customization friendly architecture

- Being a Microsoft product, it has its own advantage for users adoption

- Able to Export / Import table data into MS Excel / Access easily - Again Microsoft advantage that it comes with pre-built integration between MS products

- Fast Implementation life cycle compared to other ERPs which takes several months to years for end to end implementation

-

What do you dislike?

- Very less material available in public domain for various issues / Implementation challenges

- Though product is not very costly, the implementation partners are not many and that's why they charge premium amount for minute changes

- Proper support during after sales cycle

Recommendations to others considering the product:

For Small to medium companies, its a best ERP to go with....

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

- SCM, CRM

"Best Platform for ERP - Microsoft Dynamics Nav "

What do you like best?

Every company has different requirements and procedure system that can be customized for their size, staff members and purchasers. But When you search a software system,I believe that this Microsoft Dynamics is the best platform to run your business.

What do you dislike?

It's not easy to find but I dislike the most that is relational setup without error marking. If user creating anything at least there should be a tagline that he just forget a step or linked table entry.its not in all the relational setup but most of the setup is like that,Rest all is good and I like it.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Highly recommend to all of other peoples to go through Microsoft Dynamics NAV.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Related Financial issues, most common warehouse issues like Purchase, receiving and inventory related issues.

"Intuitive at best, frozen at worst. "

What do you like best?

I like being able to enter data quickly by using the Enter or Tab key to move between fields. Nav also gives me the ability to enter data enter a large database and quickly find orders using a myriad of options.

What do you dislike?

I dislike that the E-Configurator sometimes doesn't save my work. I get frustrated when the configurator freezes and causes me to have to close and reopen everything.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I would use this with a small company.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

I use this tool to enter orders. It helps pull a lot of information from different places and print it all onto a work order.

"Most flexible accounting / manufacturing / warehousing / service ERP available"

What do you like best?

Every facet of NAV is completely integrated together, and everything rolls up to the accounting aspects flawlessly.

What do you dislike?

Changes are on the way that may make core modifications more difficult or impossible.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

Most accounting systems have a core that depends on external apps or extremely complicated (and costly) setup / implementation (aka big SAP, Oracle, even Dynamics AX). NAV is 100% configurable as it comes with all the business logic exposed and can be manipulated to perform any function. Even non-standard functionality like POS / Retail is fully and seamlessly integrated within the central app.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

NAV offers full control and complete visibility into all aspects of a business. It is unique in that the software is meant to fit your business process, not the other way around.

"Customization Options on Point"

What do you like best?

I like the capabilities to add as many fields as necessary for whatever type of work you're needing to do. You can customize columns and add/delete fields on your personal view. The tiles shown on your home screen make it easy to organize your most-used fields, and give easy access to them. These are also easy to customize for each individual's 'favorite' sub fields.

What do you dislike?

I wish there was a way to give some color/shading to the different fields. It's a bit mono-chromatic which is not easy on the eyes.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

This is a great addition to your Microsoft Office programs! Syncs well and the tiles are easy to use / track your work from one thing to the next. This is a great way to mainstream your thoughts for day-to-day tasks for you and your employees.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This is a great addition to a more traditional CRM we currently use. This allows for reports to be run, and again, customization for each individual user is a great feature! Being able to quickly access my email, commonly run reports, open orders, tasks, etc. makes it easy to start my day and analyze what needs to be done!

"Use for looking up agency orders, invoices, programs, etc."

What do you like best?

It is fairly easy to navigate once you learn the system. I like that most information (invoices, payments, orders, program contacts, delivery info, etc.) can all be stored in the system for a one stop shop for information.

What do you dislike?

If an agency is spelled wrong or entered into the system it can be difficult to locate them (that is mostly error on our end, not on NAV software.) I also wish there was an easier way for NAV to sync with other delivery and scheduling software.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

We are slowly trying to consolidate and move as much information as possible to the software, which has allowed us to be more efficient in our communication.

"Somewhat outdated tool"

What do you like best?

Very user friendly and easy to search. I was able to get up to speed very quickly with this tool with minimal training.

What do you dislike?

It's all based locally on a server. If someone is importing a large entry, it somewhat "locks out" other users.

Recommendations to others considering the product:

I'd look for a SaaS based solution that can scale better with the business.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

This is our general ledger tool and everything imports directly into the system. It helps things by being automated (3rd party).

"Great ERP System"

What do you like best?

The structure and best practices built into the system,

I'd recommend you use the system without any modifications - as far as you can,

What do you dislike?

The complicated pricing structure microsoft imposes - I have a hard time recommending this system to new users -

Great for established companies upgrading from a previous ERP

Recommendations to others considering the product:

The main cost in the number of users,

if you forsee that you will have a lot of users using Dynamics NAV directly - look at other products.

If you can use Navision for the accounting and stock + reports only - go for it,

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Sales, stock, cash flow, looking into using the marketing addon - it looks very promising, a bit more complicated to start then it needs by in my oppinon
