AX Dynamics is an good ERP product for managing enterprise resources. Our company uses it along with a non-Microsoft PLM system, PTC Windchill, and they work together well. We have had to do a lot of custom programming of reports and forms in order to get the product to perform as needed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. We are using AX to greatly reduce our inventory on hand as well as forecasting and master planning. It has taken a lot of work with an outside consulting firm as well as custom programming with an IT company to get it to function the way we need it to. When planning to move into another software like Dynamics AX explore the standard functionality and even there are always possibilities to customize it's better to stick to the standard functionality. Don't try to just copy and paste your old system into AX. Understand how the system works and as much as possible adapt yourself to AX.
