"Amazing vulnerability management solution"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

There are many solutions on the market for this purpose, but only few of them are non-demanding for CPU/Memory like Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management. You really cannot notice it's working, no affection at all on system speed, but it gets the job done perfectly. Customization is also great, and can be configured just for your needs very quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

No downsides really. Great example how Vulnerability Management solution should look and work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Cross Platform and required"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

Considering the history of the company, I'm no fan of Microsoft. It does cover our requirement to have some Vulnerability Management on every workstation and also covers some of our servers. It's free for us for the most part because of Office 365 and Azure AD. Installation was easy and didn't require any additional setup or configuration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

On my personal workstation (MacBook) it visibly slowed down my machine. I guess this should be expected for the work that it's doing. I don't think I've had a hit on my workstation since installation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management - Dashboard of Security"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

The results I've gotten from using Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management have been satisfactory. Our company has been able to more effectively identify and respond to potential breaches in security thanks to the product's capabilities. Our company has been able to improve its security posture and lower the danger of being attacked by cybercriminals as a direct result of implementing this product, which offers a comprehensive solution for vulnerability management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

1. The dashboard can be confusing and difficult to use for first-time users; additional training is required to make full use of all of the capabilities.

2. The capabilities of reporting could be increased in order to provide more thorough information about vulnerabilities and the potential impact of those vulnerabilities.

3. Support for third-party goods is severely limited Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It is a comprehensive solution for Identifying, prioritizing and remediating"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

I appreciate this because of its integration with other MS security tools, threat intelligence for up-to-date insights, the automation of vulnerability management workflows and comprehensive reporting and monitoring capabilities. These features can help us more efficiently manage vulnerability and improve overall security. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

As it is primarily designed for Windows-based systems, there could be limitations for organizations with diverse IT environments. The vulnerability management workflow automation does not support all operating systems, and EDR does not support all types of Linux and Unix systems. Even on Windows-based systems, detections are not always accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

the microsoft needs to maret this product a bit more, people are unaware about this security solution. I suggest that it should be marketed more than before that people shoul start using this instead of any third party vulnerability mangement solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Comprehensive and Effective: A Review of Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

As a security-conscious individual or organization, the constant threat of cyberattacks necessitates a robust and reliable vulnerability management solution. Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management (MDVM) emerges as a formidable contender in this arena, offering comprehensive protection against potential vulnerabilities. Having extensively evaluated its features and performance, I am confident in awarding it a well-deserved five-star rating.

First and foremost, MDVM demonstrates its strength through its remarkable scanning capabilities. Leveraging its deep integration with the Microsoft ecosystem, it consistently identifies vulnerabilities across a wide range of platforms and applications. Whether it's the Windows operating system, Microsoft 365, or third-party software, MDVM leaves no stone unturned, ensuring that potential vulnerabilities are promptly detected. Its ability to provide near-real-time updates further enhances its proactive approach to vulnerability management.

Another standout feature of MDVM is its seamless integration with the broader Microsoft Defender suite, creating a unified security ecosystem. This integration allows for efficient collaboration between MDVM and other Defender components, such as Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) and Microsoft Defender Antivirus. This holistic approach enables organizations to detect, investigate, and remediate vulnerabilities swiftly, minimizing the window of opportunity for malicious actors.

The user interface of MDVM is intuitive and user-friendly, making it accessible even to those without extensive cybersecurity expertise. The dashboard provides a clear and concise overview of the vulnerability landscape, empowering users to prioritize their remediation efforts effectively. Additionally, the reporting capabilities of MDVM are highly commendable. It generates detailed reports that aid in vulnerability assessment, compliance auditing, and executive-level reporting, facilitating informed decision-making at all levels of an organization.

Microsoft's commitment to continuous improvement and threat intelligence is evident in the regular updates and threat feeds delivered to MDVM users. This ensures that the solution remains current and effective against emerging vulnerabilities and attack vectors. The integration of threat intelligence from Microsoft's vast network strengthens the system's ability to proactively detect and address potential threats, giving users peace of mind.

Lastly, it is worth highlighting the exceptional support provided by Microsoft. The comprehensive documentation, online resources, and dedicated customer support contribute to a smooth onboarding experience and swift issue resolution. Microsoft's commitment to delivering a top-notch support system reflects their dedication to customer satisfaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

While Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management (MDVM) is an impressive solution overall, there are a few areas where it could be improved:

Platform Limitations: MDVM primarily focuses on vulnerability management within the Microsoft ecosystem. While it does support some third-party software, its coverage is not as extensive as dedicated vulnerability management solutions that cater to a wider range of platforms. Organizations with diverse IT environments may find that MDVM falls short in addressing vulnerabilities in non-Microsoft systems.

Advanced Reporting Customization: While MDVM offers solid reporting capabilities, there is room for improvement in terms of customization. Some users may desire more flexibility to tailor reports according to their specific requirements. Enhancing the reporting features to allow for deeper customization and the inclusion of additional data points would further enhance the solution's versatility.

Lack of Third-Party Integrations: While MDVM integrates well with other components of the Microsoft Defender suite, it has limited integrations with third-party security tools. This can be a drawback for organizations that rely on multiple security solutions and seek to streamline their vulnerability management process. Expanding the range of integrations would provide users with more options and flexibility to leverage their existing security infrastructure.

Dependency on Microsoft Updates: MDVM's effectiveness heavily relies on Microsoft's ability to deliver timely updates and threat intelligence. Although Microsoft has a strong track record in this regard, any delays or gaps in updating the vulnerability database could result in a lag in protection against emerging threats. It would be beneficial for Microsoft to enhance its processes for rapid response to vulnerabilities and ensure that MDVM users have access to the most up-to-date information consistently.

Pricing Structure: While the specific pricing details for MDVM may vary depending on the organization's size and licensing agreements, some users have expressed concerns about the cost-effectiveness of the solution, particularly for smaller businesses or those with limited security budgets. Microsoft could explore more flexible pricing options or bundled packages to cater to a broader range of organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Overall good software. Easy to use."
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

Since it is integrated into Windows, we don't need any additional purchases. Also seamless integration with Windows, makes the software much easy to use. It compares very well with competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

Online presence is less. Other antivirus have online monitoring systems, which check each and every website we visit and block malicious websites. Would very much like to see this in Microsoft Defender. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Microsoft Defender getting better over time"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

From personal experience, Microsoft defender vulnerability management has got much better over time. Compared to the nunber of issues it used to have 3-4 years back, now its much more dependable for safety of your computer. Ofcourse, there are still more matured third party defenders out there but they hide behind an extra level of paywall. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

There is still loads of improvement that can be done, specially around the UI changes made in windows 11. Things have become a bit more complex for new users & UI can be more streamlined. Then comes the safety feature updates which have become quite frequent but still lack some of the features provided by other defenders. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Defender Vulnerability Management is a wealth of information"
What do you like best about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

All the Dials and Dashboard and clear information as well as instructions on how to remediate possible vulnerabilities really make it easy to shore up any weaknesses in your network and device security. A lot of it is all about being proactive and really ensuring you are in the best place possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management?

There are something a little TOO much information. Some people might find it a little daunting at first. MS tries to make it a little easier with a couple walk throughs, but ultimately you just need to put in the time to learn the interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
