Too tiny things that make it not easy to use/work w MDfE **Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.) **Reviewed Date:** December 14, 2022 **What do you like best about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?** GUI, easy to navigate around, great with all the integrations, easy to onboard the machine **What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?** - granularity of the privileges is very low - forcing you to distribute an admin to lot of people so thy are able to to do what they need - granularity and options for whitelisting - this one is very very bad, whitelisting is really stupid, not giving you to whitelist particular things, leaving you with tons of fp triggered, forcing you to feed the alerts elsewhere and sort the whitelisting in your SIEM, or any other tool you are feeding the alerts into - grouping of the alerts is good, but it would be awesome to change the severity accordingly - in case you are having some filtering and trying to get the rid of the informational or low severity INC you are going to miss the medium, high or critical, bcs the seveiry is always set probably based on the first alert coming into the incident. Leaving you in a stage where you have 50 informational alerts and 1 critical, but the whole bulk is still severity informational. Again we had to find a workaround how to sort out this elsewhere than inside the MDfE - MS not paying attention to the customers, when we do have an issue, we do open the task, incident, request towards MS but we barely hear from the MS side, that's the overall issue, not just MDfE product, maybe we are too small company and MS and it's below some treshold and it's not going to hurt when MS lose this deal **What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It's an EDR, it works like an EDR, and we are using it in that way. It support's us well, but it's the bunch of minor things that make it dislikeable tool to use and it cause an unecessary overhad as we need to find workaround by ourselves putting an extra load into the team. ### 22.
