Because MDE is so well integrated with Windows OS, I found it to be highly effective. You also receive API Explorer, Vulnerability Management, Advanced Hunting, and integration with other Defender Components. When an external device is connected, it immediately examines that and updates the signature and antimalware platform as needed. The UI is user-friendly, with easy-to-navigate tabs. MS's wide presence also helps early detection of new threats, which keeps the protection up-to-date. From onboarding devices/servers to managing every security-related aspect is very smooth. Their advanced query comes as a plus point. Multiple EDR tools have been found to consume high memory on servers with many processes running, taking system/production outages. I never get such complaints about Defender in my 2.5+ years of experience. **What do you dislike about Microsoft Defender for Endpoint?** The timeline feature of MS Defender is not very user-friendly, as it took a lot of effort to navigate to the exact issue. An investigation going up to months ago could take a while to find out how things started. An easy solution is to either provide a process tree demonstrating correlated events or a filter that can filter out processes related to the selected activity. **What problems is Microsoft Defender for Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Defender is an EDR tool that continuously monitors data on endpoints to detect any suspicious event.
