What I like most about Microsoft BitLocker is that it provides a high level of data security through full disk encryption. It’s easy to set up and doesn’t require extra effort from the user. For someone who wants to protect their personal or work data from unauthorized access, BitLocker is an extremely useful and convenient tool. Security is a top priority for me, and BitLocker does exactly that – it gives peace of mind and confidence that my information is safe. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Microsoft BitLocker? One of the things I dislike is that BitLocker is only available for certain versions of Windows, which can be limiting for some users. Additionally, BitLocker is not open-source, which might raise concerns about the transparency of its security and data privacy. For users like me, who value complete visibility into how a software works, the lack of open-source code can be a downside. It would be good if there is a development in this direction. BitLocker can be deployed in a myriad of ways and this needs to be led by the business requirements. For example, Pre-Boot Pin is the most secure way of deploying BitLocker as it requires a Pin to actually unlock the section of the hard drive data is stored upon, it's like a key for a key. With the Pre-Boot pin it's difficult to deploy with AutoPilot. Organisations can be heavily reliant upon Microsoft unofficial support to get functions working. Some of them are 1 - Data theft is restricted when the device go stolen 2 - No one can access the data without the key 3 - Simple encryption process And there may be many more.
