What do you like best about Microsoft Access?

Easy to do complex queries across multiple tables. Easy to expand functionality as needed when additional data is made available. Enforces data integrity but allows very complex queries easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?

Recommendations to others considering Microsoft Access:

Access works fine in a Windows environment. There is no Access product in the Apple iOS environment. This is quite frustrating. The future of Access is a bit cloudy. Microsoft once said it would be discontinued, but there is a large base of users, and there are no comparable programs available from other vendors. Most have either a very steep learning curve, or are expensive. Access can be licensed by itself or as a part of Office Pro. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Microsoft Access solving and how is that benefiting you?

Complex reporting and sample selections that our CRM system does not support. Allows us to explore options more easily. Run efficiently on older hardware as long as. there is plenty of memory. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Compatibility with SQL leaves a lot to be desired. Plus its not available on Mac so that's another problem i have with Access that could improve their case significatntly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A lot actually, database design, creating entity-relationship diagrams, creating mock layouts of the data schema, and writing queries to retrieve data. What do you like best about Microsoft Access?

I definitely appreciate that such a mature database model comes standard with the Office suite, and you are not paying for individual licensing for database structure. This is a great replacement to data that doesn't have to reside within Microsoft SQL Server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Microsoft Access?

The one key aspect that I would change is the portability of the data between MS Access and other database structures, whether they come from Microsoft or not. It would be amazing if SSMS could integrate with Access DB's in the near future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
