The solution takes a prevention-first, layered approach to email security, inspecting links, attachments, and message content before delivery. It applies deeper analysis when risk warrants it, helping legitimate email move efficiently while subjecting suspicious content to additional scrutiny. MetaDefender Email Gateway Security also addresses the risks associated with encrypted and password-protected attachments. It can locate passwords included in the email body and automatically inspect, sanitize, and sandbox protected files. If a password is unavailable, the user can provide it through a self-service portal, enabling further processing without requiring manual validation from IT or SOC teams. For data protection and governance, Proactive DLP™ can detect and redact sensitive information, such as PII, PHI, and credentials. Centralized policy controls, reporting, audit trails, and documented inspection and sanitization outcomes help organizations demonstrate control effectiveness and support compliance initiatives, including GDPR, DORA, and NIS2. The solution integrates with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, MetaDefender Managed File Transfer, and any SMTP-based email gateways and mail servers. It can be deployed in front of existing mail servers or as an additional security layer alongside an existing email gateway, allowing organizations to strengthen protection without replacing established platforms or disrupting email workflows.
