Setting up Mergin Maps projects in QGIS is easy, taking advantage of all the options in QGIS regarding 'Form' layout and design for data collection. This software is an inuitive option to gather GIS data with students new to GIS. They offer free educational accounts , and we are able to collaborate on assignments fairly easily. While the program offers different roles (Editor, Reader, Owner), there is no role for a Contributor: someone who can add their own data and download the project, but is unable to remove data from others or change symbology. Additionally, the app is very easy to collect photos with, but the space they give to educational accounts can only hold about 20 photos.
