"Enhanced business and IT collaboration"

What do you like best about Mendix?

The turnaround time and the capability to have fast paced development.

As a Business Analyst working closely with non IT users it makes it super convenient to be able to coordinate and show them the results real time. What do you dislike about Mendix?

1. It seems like there is a trade off with performance whenever complex implementations are done.

2. I have heard some of our business complain about the licensing cost.

3. When complex integrations are needed on the Mendix app it feels as though there is a limited low code space especially in engineering applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?

The clients I work with always expect super customized solutions to their engineering problems which is served well with Mendix. This is achieved with Mendix 100% and the fact that there can be seamless integration with legacy softwares makes it convenient to Mendix applications to their portfolio.

Another major benefit would be fostering collaboration between non IT and IT. The non IT business users are kept very much involved through the development Lifecycle ensuring the final product meets users expectations without any surprises there by overcoming the problem with REWORK! "Mendix has been a great time saver"

What do you like best about Mendix?

It is very quick for deployments. And the workflow for creating custom applications is really well designed. The development teams love the way we can create new applications in a very ordered and structured way. The ease of integration into existing infrastructure was relatively straight forward. The team uses Mendix on a very frequent basis and it has been easy to implement updates and changes to the existing code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

Creating copies of applications with 50% or more reuse of existing code & packages is time consuming. All actions have to be repeated multiple times. Would love to see an update where this is reduced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Transformative Low-Code"

What do you like best about Mendix?

Unlike many players in the low-code space where low-code capability is just an extention of some preixesting core capability (think Salesforce, Service Now, Microsoft, Appian), Mendix is a pure low-code platform entirely focused on low-code application development. This focus, allows the tools they provide to be intuitive to work with and extreemly capable in terms of technical delivery, and easy to integrate.

Althought it's designed to be an enterprise grade platform, they have licencing models that would be suitable for startups and smaller organisations.

By providing all the tools and services required to design, build and deploy - so implementation is very straignt forward.

In addition to their 24/7 online support Mendix provides a full online academy, and have a thriving online comunity - all of which delivers an outstanding developer support experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

Not so much a dislike but just a reality of low code is that there are limitations that should be acknowledge.

Yes, it's fully extensible, but only in Java for server side logic, and JavaScript for client side logic - if you want to work in other languages/frameworks you'll need to build those functions elsewhere and integrate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mendix as UI for Opcenter"

What do you like best about Mendix?

It creates an abstraction from the Opcenter backend, meaning upgrading to a newer version of Opcenter will not break the user interface. Upgrades are also much easier, as it is not necessary to port customizations in the Opcenter Portal to a new version of the screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

Although it is classified as "low code", there is still a learning curve for new developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?

The Mendix frontend acts as single user cockpit for operators on the shop floor, visualizing data from different source systems (systems-of-record) to expand or enhance the user experience. What do you like best about Mendix?

Making it appear to the end users that they are in Teamcenter so it doesn't look like we have an additional application we are making them use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using it for a couple of different applications within the Company. One of them is to be a database that users can go into and request a multitude of data that are all being retrieved from various databases. Making it a one-stop for the user.
