"Mendix Makes Development Less Complex but More Efficient"
What do you like best about Mendix?

I love to work with Mendix because it takes away the complexity of coding. It helps me to focus on processes with the customer rather than on the code itself.

Also, the complexity of hosting is taken away, if you have the standard Mendix package everything from spinning up environments, databases etc is done for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

The versioning system in itself is great since regular upgrades are available and pushed. The downside of Mendix is that you have to install a lot of different IDEs to be able to stay on track io the changes are pushed directly to the IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Quickly Build Complex Applications with Ease"
What do you like best about Mendix?

I use Mendix on a daily basis. The ability to quickly create new complex application.

I have built a few apps in just a few weeks containing complex flows and integrations.

The fact that you have a visual representation of your code makes it easier to understand complex flows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

License costs for single users can be a bit high. I understand that this isn’t the primary focus for Mendix, but there’s a huge market that would use Mendix if the licensing were a bit more affordable (in my opinion).

Some features also still feel missing. Complex data filters for Datagrid2 aren’t optimal yet. The newer Datagrid2 filter additions—like paging, page size, and count options—are a nice step, but they don’t work properly in my experience. When working with large amounts of data, the count doesn’t behave correctly when I clear all filters in a nanoflow, because it counts before the data has finished loading. I ended up developing my own JS action that waits until the filters are cleared and only then triggers the count.

These kinds of “basic” features still feel somewhat lacking to me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Lightning-Fast Way to Turn Ideas Into Solutions"
What do you like best about Mendix?

The speed of turning awesome ideas into solutions from scratch. The visualized building of a flow that can be presented to a customer and they will also understand the "code". The short time to learn the basics and keep growing on platform using skills. The easy way for implementing REST APIs and mapping their responses into our entities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

Basic but helpful git functions are missing. (use case as an example: I forgot to create a branch for my new feature development and now I have two options - create a new branch and start again or push to the branch I worked on) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful and Accessible"
What do you like best about Mendix?

I love the Mendix Studio Pro, which allows you to visualize pages, the data model, and algorithms all at once. It's a very rich and comprehensive tool, somewhat like an IDE. Moreover, Mendix offers very well-made learning paths, as well as rich documentation and a forum, which makes getting started very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

When one has to develop a very specific feature that really deviates from the norm, one can perform a Java action. We create the action in the pro studio but have to write its code in another editor. It's a shame. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mendix Delivers Fast, Flexible Enterprise App Development"
What do you like best about Mendix?

hat I like best about Mendix is its ability to significantly accelerate application development while still maintaining flexibility and scalability.

The low-code approach enables close collaboration between business and IT, allowing teams to quickly translate ideas into working solutions. I also value the strong visual modeling, built-in governance, and seamless integration capabilities, which make it easier to build enterprise-grade applications without sacrificing quality. Overall, Mendix strikes a great balance between speed, control, and innovation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

What I dislike about Mendix is that, as applications grow in complexity, managing performance, customization, and advanced logic can become more challenging.

While the low-code approach is very powerful, certain use cases still require deeper technical knowledge or custom development, which can reduce some of the initial speed benefits. Additionally, licensing costs and platform dependency can be a consideration for organizations scaling their solutions long-term. That said, these are common trade-offs for enterprise low-code platforms and can usually be mitigated with proper architecture and governance Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Rapid App Development Made Effortless with Mendix"
What do you like best about Mendix?

The best thing about Mendix is how quickly it allows me to develop and deploy applications with minimal coding. The visual modeling interface is intuitive, making it easy to design complex workflows and business logic without writing everything from scratch. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other systems and cloud platforms, which saves a lot of development time. Collaboration is much easier because business users and developers can work on the same platform, speeding up the overall delivery process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendix?

The main downside of Mendix is that the platform can become complex for very large or highly customized applications. While the low-code approach is great for speed, advanced features sometimes require coding knowledge, which can slow down development for non-technical users. Additionally, licensing costs can be high for smaller teams, and performance can be affected if applications are not optimized properly. Some integrations also require extra effort to set up compared to traditional development platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
