**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2018

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Ease of use, strong capability and flexibility, and the option to embed custom code. There are many components available out of the box, and the available trainings can get you set up and working in just a few days. Strong capabilities of integration with all enterprise-grade systems and more.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It requires a bit of customizations when dealing with exotic and complex scenarios or requirements.

**Recommendations to others considering Mendix:**

Ideal application which will enable you to provide a customer with an initial application for further enhancements. Perfect platform for working with PoCs after which you decide whether to go with the platform or build a custom software. Time invested in creation of the PoC applications is short (lets you create a working application with limited functionality within days and not weeks).

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes it possible to deliver quick solutions to customer requirements. I can provide a working solution, with many functional features, within hours or days rather than weeks.

  ### 3. Accelerates App Development, Room for Support Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Krishnakumar S. | Software Developer Intern, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like using Mendix because it's a very powerful tool that allows developing applications quickly without heavy coding, supporting our team in building and launching new solutions efficiently. The low-code nature of Mendix is great because I can integrate Java and JavaScript code, and even React Native components as widgets, making it very open to adapt to third-party functionalities. I appreciate that with Mendix, a complex application can be developed within a month, and specific features, like a page with a dashboard, can be completed within a day. This speed is unmatched compared to legacy applications, which can take months. Additionally, I find it hugely beneficial that Mendix simplifies tasks like adding buttons and setting click functionalities drastically compared to traditional coding. Lastly, the setup process was very simple; I just downloaded Mendix and used it.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I don't like the support ticket system in Mendix because it takes at least two weeks to get a reply. If they improve the ticket system, it will be very helpful for me.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix to develop applications quickly without heavy coding, speeding up processes that usually take months to just a few days, enhancing our efficiency.

  ### 4. Mendix Makes Building Complex Apps Easy—Even Without Deep Expertise

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eda E. | RD Consultant, Mendix Developer, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

what i love most about mendix is this: even if you're not an expert in something, you can still build it thanks to the platform. For example, i am not a database specialist, yet i can design complex domain models, relationships, and data workflows with ease.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

most of the trainings are heavily document-based. Yes, there are classes, but they are rarel opened and they progress very quickly. with so many experts avaliable, i dont understand why topic-based and case-based content- such as detailed youtube sessions - is not being produced.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix primarily brings speed and flexibility yo us as developers. So far, I do not remember ever telling a client that an integration was "not possible." The platform is incredibly flexible and can be shaped according to the need. It's amazing!

  ### 5. Help your customer to get a software what they need, easier

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** István S. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It’s built to make software developers’ lives better. You can focus on the task and the business process instead of fighting with infrastructure code. As an architect, you still have all the same opportunities and solutions you’d have with classic coding processes while you develop.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The Linux runtime environment support might be a bit outdated, but that feels like an edge case. There are plenty of other options available, so it’s not a major issue overall.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a customer software development company, and Mendix makes our life easier at every stage of the software development process. With it, we can create custom software much faster and more easily. We can also adapt the software to changing needs much more quickly than before. The go-live is also less painful.

  ### 6. Mendix Shines for Secure, Scalable, AI-infused, Enterprise Apps

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marco S. | Product Manager AI and Low-Code Architect, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 19, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix has great Citizen Developers capabilities, connectors, and example apps to build secure, AI-infused applications in an enterprise setting (security, guardrails, and compliance) with the possibility to scale the applications. I'm working with a few platforms, and Mendix stands out. Using Maia, the AI-assisted function, you can prompt the generation of artefacts you need in your App.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Personally, I don't like that there is no way to prevent someone from upgrading the app to a higher level and committing it. This can cause some inconvenience. We solved it by making good rules for that in the team.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Mendix, you can focus on the business problem. Most of the technical details are abstracted from the actual development by using the low-code/no-code/AI-generated IDE (StudioPro).

  ### 7. Powerful Development Tool with Some Challenges

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fabienne K. | Consultant en Ingénieur logiciel, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love that Mendix is a wonderful and easy-to-use development tool, with significant flexibility for developers. It allows for relatively advanced technical customization and facilitates the creation of secure and functional applications. Its rights management is impressive: one can define access rights on a very fine scale automatically, which is truly an asset. The presentation of the domain model is also a central point, offering a visual map of the database that simplifies processing and allows for many things around this database. The microflows are also something I greatly appreciate.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Mendix is not simple for anything related to custom interface. If you want to create custom UI, it is significantly more complicated. Mendix is also not a document manager. Creating and managing documents like Word, Excel, and others is not particularly easy. There are also many critical functions (such as retrieving the user during an SSO session) that are embedded in Java actions, which makes customizing these operations difficult. Another very negative point for me is the way Mendix uses git. It uses a git clone and not a checkout, which quickly makes development cumbersome. It had to be implemented on-premise, and from what I've heard, it wasn't an easy task. It is still problematic today because Mendix doesn't really allow for strict processes, and this causes issues with our pipelines.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix facilitates the creation of secure and functional applications. Its rights management allows controlled access automatically. The domain model offers a simplified visualization of the database.

  ### 8. Domain Model and Auto-Refactoring Make Development Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

As a person with classic programming experience, I very much appreciate the Domain model feature. It takes off the hassle of setting up database, its tables and associations, writing long text queries. I also like the automatic rewrite of everything (for example when I change a name of a microflow, it changes everywhere its used). Since I'm not a frontend person, Mendix makes it much easier for me to create something in a few minutes that I can show to the client. Something thats made from already working and tested widgets.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It makes sense that whenever there is a need for classic programming (let's say the client wants a very customized widget that doesn't exist on Marketplace) that the editor for that code (Code tab of Javascript and Java) isn't as detailed as in classic programming IDEs such as VSCode because classic coding is what we want to use as a last resort in low-code development. However additional work on this section would be much appreciated. For example the editor doesn't always show the mistakes one makes, there is not much color distinction between variables, functions and other parts of the code which can make it difficult to read. As Linux lover, it would also be great if Mendix had its adaptation for Linux as just running Windows can take a lot of machine resources compared to Linux.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix is making digitalization of everyday business tasks much faster and cleaner. Thanks to predefined microflow actions and page widgets, the development of an app is so much faster and easier than with classic programming. So is translating of texts and configuring different parts of the app. The customer also likes to see the logic behind the program in microflows, that way they can understand it easily even if they have no IT background. This helps build transparency in projects and therefore trust between the client and the company, that delivers the product. There can often be security issues with Java, where some libraries have a critical security flaw and need to be replaced by other libraries. Mendix takes this responsibility of the developers shoulders. Therefore developers, who make apps in Mendix, often don't have much of a technical backlog apart from maybe updating the Studio Pro and its apps to the newest versions. The amount of time that would be used for the technical backlog can be spent with the client working on the actual features we are delivering them - Mendix makes development more product oriented and takes care of the surrounding tasks for us.

  ### 9. Rapid Development, Intuitive Yet Lacks Source Control, some UI components and generative AI

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Government Administration | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I really appreciate Mendix for its rapid application development which lets us deliver solutions faster than regular coding. It has a lot of functionality straight out of the box, allowing me to build nice back-ends and front-ends without much coding. The learning curve is also very low. Someone tech savy can get to professional level in less then a year. The initial setup was very easy, just running the exit, and that's it. I find Mendix very intuitive, which makes me very likely to recommend it.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I think for larger teams, the source control is a bit lacking. There's a lot of git features missing. It's also annoying that I need to download a project for each branch. Reviewing code is also very difficult because changes don't show in the history. Only the files modified are listed. There are also some front end componenet missing. There are other tools like Unity game engine that provide more intuitive way to build UI (anchors and stretching), rather then containers and layout grids. Some bootstrap classes should also be avalable in the UI.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Mendix for rapid application development, allowing us to deliver solutions faster than regular coding. It has functionality straight out of the box, saving time on projects and making it easy to build nice back ends and front ends.

  ### 10. Accelerated App Development with Mendix's Strong Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ömer T. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I really like Mendix for its end-to-end productivity and workflow process focus. It's great that it has governance and security built-in, which is crucial for enterprise apps. The integration capability is impressive too, meaning I don't have to start from scratch every time. Mendix also allows collaboration with businesses, and I appreciate the reusable components. It solves key problems for me, especially in terms of speed as I can deliver working apps fast and iterate quickly with business users. Its process automation capabilities are a big plus, allowing me to build workflow-heavy apps without coding everything from scratch. Mendix also meets our enterprise needs with its governance, security, and integration features, making solutions production-ready and maintainable.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

UI flexibility is good, but truly custom UX can still require some workarounds. Licensing pricing clarity for certain enterprise scenarios could be simpler, and the AI features of the platform should really be improved if low-code can still remain faster.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix speeds up app delivery and iteration, automates workflows without coding from scratch, and meets enterprise needs for governance, security, and integration. I use it for creating business apps, process automation, and ensuring solutions are ready and maintainable.

  ### 11. Fast and Cost-Effective App Development with Mendix

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Furkan H. | Project Management, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like that with Mendix, I can start developing an app really fast, and it makes creating features easier since there's no need to write a lot of code. I also appreciate the ability to reuse my deployments either in a new app or the same app on a different page. It's beneficial to me as a developer. Creating a team and sharing development projects with teammates is great, as they can support and contribute to my projects. I find Mendix's AI assistant, Maya, very useful because I don't have to search for things on the internet; I can just ask Maya for opinions and advice on developing features. It's valuable for me this way.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

I find it challenging that Mendix doesn't offer more support for the Turkey community. More localized support could make it easier for me to develop apps.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix accelerates app development with low-code, saving time and costs compared to traditional coding. It allows fast feature development without extensive coding and supports team collaboration. The AI assistant, Maya, streamlines tasks by offering development advice.

  ### 12. Mendix Makes Development Less Complex but More Efficient

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthias S. | Mendix Expert Developer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love to work with Mendix because it takes away the complexity of coding. It helps me to focus on processes with the customer rather than on the code itself.
Also, the complexity of hosting is taken away, if you have the standard Mendix package everything from spinning up environments, databases etc is done for you.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The versioning system in itself is great since regular upgrades are available and pushed. The downside of Mendix is that you have to install a lot of different IDEs to be able to stay on track io the changes are pushed directly to the IDE.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helps me to get business problems solved very quickly. If you want to change something, it can be done in a matter of minutes and be deployed immediately. So the go to market is very quick compared to more traditional high code languages. Mendix can be used to solve very small business applications to be responsible for maintaining the core of an enterprise.

  ### 13. Quickly Build Complex Applications with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I use Mendix on a daily basis. The ability to quickly create new complex application.
I have built a few apps in just a few weeks containing complex flows and integrations.
The fact that you have a visual representation of your code makes it easier to understand complex flows.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

License costs for single users can be a bit high. I understand that this isn’t the primary focus for Mendix, but there’s a huge market that would use Mendix if the licensing were a bit more affordable (in my opinion).

Some features also still feel missing. Complex data filters for Datagrid2 aren’t optimal yet. The newer Datagrid2 filter additions—like paging, page size, and count options—are a nice step, but they don’t work properly in my experience. When working with large amounts of data, the count doesn’t behave correctly when I clear all filters in a nanoflow, because it counts before the data has finished loading. I ended up developing my own JS action that waits until the filters are cleared and only then triggers the count.

These kinds of “basic” features still feel somewhat lacking to me.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'd say speed and complexity. I'm able to develop complex application more easily and I'm able to do it faster as with traditional coding.
Ofcourse,

  ### 14. Lightning-Fast Way to Turn Ideas Into Solutions

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

The speed of turning awesome ideas into solutions from scratch. The visualized building of a flow that can be presented to a customer and they will also understand the "code". The short time to learn the basics and keep growing on platform using skills. The easy way for implementing REST APIs and mapping their responses into our entities.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Basic but helpful git functions are missing. (use case as an example: I forgot to create a branch for my new feature development and now I have two options - create a new branch and start again or push to the branch I worked on)

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix is helping us with its great developing environment that has a very consistent ecosystem. Not only assisting the developers during their work but making the quality of their works better, also assisted by the best practice recommender.

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I love the Mendix Studio Pro, which allows you to visualize pages, the data model, and algorithms all at once. It's a very rich and comprehensive tool, somewhat like an IDE. Moreover, Mendix offers very well-made learning paths, as well as rich documentation and a forum, which makes getting started very easy.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

When one has to develop a very specific feature that really deviates from the norm, one can perform a Java action. We create the action in the pro studio but have to write its code in another editor. It's a shame.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix provides a wide range of modules and components that simplify the development of common features for each application.

  ### 17. Mendix Review

We can see our works result faster according to traditional development. Moreover , it takes huge time to develop anything for non-technical person. Thanks to Mendix , the amount of time to develop something is dramatically reduced.

  ### 18. Mendix Delivers Fast, Flexible Enterprise App Development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

hat I like best about Mendix is its ability to significantly accelerate application development while still maintaining flexibility and scalability.
The low-code approach enables close collaboration between business and IT, allowing teams to quickly translate ideas into working solutions. I also value the strong visual modeling, built-in governance, and seamless integration capabilities, which make it easier to build enterprise-grade applications without sacrificing quality. Overall, Mendix strikes a great balance between speed, control, and innovation.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

What I dislike about Mendix is that, as applications grow in complexity, managing performance, customization, and advanced logic can become more challenging.
While the low-code approach is very powerful, certain use cases still require deeper technical knowledge or custom development, which can reduce some of the initial speed benefits. Additionally, licensing costs and platform dependency can be a consideration for organizations scaling their solutions long-term. That said, these are common trade-offs for enterprise low-code platforms and can usually be mitigated with proper architecture and governance

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix is solving the problem of slow application delivery and high barriers to experimentation in traditional development.
It enables teams to quickly build, prototype, and iterate on applications, which is especially valuable when validating ideas with business stakeholders. A key benefit for me is the ability to develop and test applications without immediately requiring full licenses. This allows for early validation, proof-of-concept development, and risk-free experimentation before committing to production or licensing costs. As a result, Mendix supports faster decision-making, better alignment between business and IT, and more efficient use of resources.

  ### 19. Rapid App Development Made Effortless with Mendix

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bhimsen T. | Electrical Supervisor, Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

The best thing about Mendix is how quickly it allows me to develop and deploy applications with minimal coding. The visual modeling interface is intuitive, making it easy to design complex workflows and business logic without writing everything from scratch. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other systems and cloud platforms, which saves a lot of development time. Collaboration is much easier because business users and developers can work on the same platform, speeding up the overall delivery process.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The main downside of Mendix is that the platform can become complex for very large or highly customized applications. While the low-code approach is great for speed, advanced features sometimes require coding knowledge, which can slow down development for non-technical users. Additionally, licensing costs can be high for smaller teams, and performance can be affected if applications are not optimized properly. Some integrations also require extra effort to set up compared to traditional development platforms.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helps solve several key business problems, primarily by speeding up application development and improving collaboration between IT and business teams. It allows us to quickly create and deploy applications that automate manual processes, reducing errors and improving efficiency. The low-code platform enables faster prototyping and iteration, which helps address changing business requirements without long development cycles. Additionally, Mendix improves visibility and communication across teams, ensuring that business logic and requirements are accurately reflected in the applications. Overall, it saves time, reduces costs, and allows the organization to respond more quickly to business needs.

  ### 20. Fast App Building, But Mendix AI Still Feels Limited

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jakub P. | Software Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Honestly, how fast you can build stuff. You can go from idea to working app really quickly, and it’s actually usable, not just a prototype.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It feels like the AI part in Mendix isn’t moving forward that fast. In many cases, using AI with a traditional programming language just gives you more flexibility and better results.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps customers with digital transformation, which is something basically every company is dealing with right now. For me, it’s a great door opener to start these kinds of discussions and get into bigger opportunities.

**Reviewed by:** Stella D. | Archictect - Mendix Practice, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix helps us to develop the apps much faster than expected. Essentially, it is straightforward to understand and implement. It allows us to integrate various services into the Mendix application. It also allows the developer to implement the custom code into the Mendix app via custom widgets, modules, Java actions, and JavaScript actions.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Mendix seems to be good, and I have nothing to say for now

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a developer or consultant, I feel Mendix helps to develop & deliver the apps much faster. Mendix supports various kinds of integration through custom modules or connectors, which are available in Mendix Marketplace. Also, Mendix offers the user to publish or consume the data via the REST API and OData API. Its built-in Drag & drop feature helps the developer to complete the development sooner, and also the different types of modes, structure & design modes. These two modes help a lot while we design the user interfaces.

**Reviewed by:** Marta S. | Associate Sales Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I use Mendix internally within the organization. I am a passive user, and my observations are rather average.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

With passive usage, it is difficult to fully assess and leverage the platform’s potential.
Some functionalities remain not very intuitive without deeper technical involvement.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix supports faster internal application development and business–IT collaboration, leading to better process visibility and more efficient support for daily work.

  ### 29. My Mendix review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

What I like best about the Mendix platform is that it accelerates the speed of software development.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

One of the things that I dislike about the Mendix platform is inability to run asynchronous operations efficiently and effectively. It's possible, I'll grant Mendix that, but I do think that there's a lot to improve to make it useful in production environment.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I'm predominantly solving business problems for client organizations. What we typically see is where an organization will typically or actually have a spreadsheet to administer some information, manage it and draw insights from it. We can do it better, more effectively and more user friendly than a canvas of rows, columns and cells. This is benefitting me in the sense that I get to solve these issues.

  ### 30. Mendix Speeds App Delivery with Low-Code Simplicity

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix is most helpful for quickly building and deploying applications with much less coding effort.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Mendix can feel limiting for highly customized requirements, and some advanced features have a learning curve. Performance tuning and debugging can also be more difficult compared to traditional development.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix helps us solve the problem of slow application development and limited flexibility in adapting to business needs. It benefits us by enabling faster delivery, easier process digitalization, and quicker response to changing requirements.

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

The speed at which we can create apps, along with the out-of-the-box functionality, is what I like most.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The support ticket system is tiresome to use and not very efficient.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Creating fast, scalable apps.

  ### 33. Enhanced business and IT collaboration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarthak V. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

The turnaround time and the capability to have fast paced development.
As a Business Analyst working closely with non IT users it makes it super convenient to be able to coordinate and show them the results real time. This makes sure the product we are building is aligned with business requirements at every level. Bottom line it boosts agility to the next level ;)

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

1. It seems like there is a trade off with performance whenever complex implementations are done.
2. I have heard some of our business complain about the licensing cost.
3. When complex integrations are needed on the Mendix app it feels as though there is a limited low code space especially in engineering applications.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The clients I work with always expect super customized solutions to their engineering problems which is served well with Mendix. This is achieved with Mendix 100% and the fact that there can be seamless integration with legacy softwares makes it convenient to Mendix applications to their portfolio.
Another major benefit would be fostering collaboration between non IT and IT. The non IT business users are kept very much involved through the development Lifecycle ensuring the final product meets users expectations without any surprises there by overcoming the problem with REWORK!

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Mendix's fast-paced development and real-time coordination convenient for aligning with business requirements. We understand your concerns about performance trade-offs, licensing costs, and limited low code space for complex integrations, and we're continuously working to improve in these areas.

  ### 34. Mendix has been a great time saver

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aniruddha H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It is very quick for deployments. And the workflow for creating custom applications is really well designed. The development teams love the way we can create new applications in a very ordered and structured way. The ease of integration into existing infrastructure was relatively straight forward. The team uses Mendix on a very frequent basis and it has been easy to implement updates and changes to the existing code.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Creating copies of applications with 50% or more reuse of existing code & packages is time consuming. All actions have to be repeated multiple times. Would love to see an update where this is reduced.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix allows us to update and deploy changes to our CAD and TC environment fairly quickly. Which has reduced our overtimes. And let us be more productive in our day-to-day activities.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> We appreciate your feedback about the time-consuming process of creating copies of applications with a high reuse of existing code. We'll definitely take this into consideration for future updates.

  ### 35. Accessible way to become a developer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

I like how it allows people who do not necessarily have knowledge and skills to be working in web development, to still participate and learn the necessary skills and gain the necessary knowledge.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It is low-code, which is nice for the reasons described above but also means there sometimes are limitations that are difficult to work around.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows relatively fast development, which benefits the organisation works for of course.

  ### 36. Transformative Low-Code

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew H. | Manager Application Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Unlike many players in the low-code space where low-code capability is just an extention of some preixesting core capability (think Salesforce, Service Now, Microsoft, Appian), Mendix is a pure low-code platform entirely focused on low-code application development. This focus, allows the tools they provide to be intuitive to work with and extreemly capable in terms of technical delivery, and easy to integrate.
Althought it's designed to be an enterprise grade platform, they have licencing models that would be suitable for startups and smaller organisations.
By providing all the tools and services required to design, build and deploy - so implementation is very straignt forward.
In addition to their 24/7 online support Mendix provides a full online academy, and have a thriving online comunity - all of which delivers an outstanding developer support experience.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Not so much a dislike but just a reality of low code is that there are limitations that should be acknowledge.
Yes, it's fully extensible, but only in Java for server side logic, and JavaScript for client side logic - if you want to work in other languages/frameworks you'll need to build those functions elsewhere and integrate.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional software development projects tend to be complex and costly. Mendix projects can be delivered extreemly quickly, and at a fraction of the cost - without sacrificing quality, security, or user experience.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Matthew, we appreciate your feedback on the limitations of low-code platforms and understand the importance of acknowledging them. We're continuously working to improve and expand our platform's capabilities to provide a better development experience for our users.

  ### 37. Mendix as UI for Opcenter

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johan F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It creates an abstraction from the Opcenter backend, meaning upgrading to a newer version of Opcenter will not break the user interface. Upgrades are also much easier, as it is not necessary to port customizations in the Opcenter Portal to a new version of the screen.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Although it is classified as "low code", there is still a learning curve for new developers.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Mendix frontend acts as single user cockpit for operators on the shop floor, visualizing data from different source systems (systems-of-record) to expand or enhance the user experience. It allows users to interact with multiple applications behind the scenes without the need to log in to those multiple systems, switch screens/browsers etc.

  ### 38. Great software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kris B. | Mendix developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 13, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix is a great piece of software. It makes the creation of applications so much easier than with other tools. And the security features causes your app to always be secure, which is of course also great.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

It's a bit expensive so I don't think it's always profitable to use Mendix for B2C apps for example

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Create applications fast and secure

  ### 39. Mendix- low code with powerful functinality.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Omkar G. | Applicatiion Enginner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

It is very helpful to develope application in short time with low code functinality. Also it has ability to deploy on mendix cloud which make integration easy.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The external api implemataion and using is complicated as i feel.else i dont feel any bad qualities are present as of now.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in very ways like reducing the time in development.also reduces the effort for overall management for development.

  ### 40. Beginner-Friendly Low-Code Tool That’s Very Easy to Use

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Very easy to use. beginner level, low-code

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

hard to find resources to help learn it.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

helps create apps and websites

  ### 41. Great gateway to bridge two systems with ease in programming/easability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carol W. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2025

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Very easy to program and update when requirements change. Quicker turnaround for implementation.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Making it appear to the end users that they are in Teamcenter so it doesn't look like we have an additional application we are making them use

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using it for a couple of different applications within the Company. One of them is to be a database that users can go into and request a multitude of data that are all being retrieved from various databases. Making it a one-stop for the user. The other application is work order system that was easier to develop in Mendix verse the customization effort required to have it directly in Teamcenter.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> We're glad to hear that you find Mendix easy to program and update, and that it has resulted in quicker implementation turnaround for you.

  ### 42. Experience with Mendix Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Naman K. | Application Development Senior Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2024

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix is a great low-code and no code platform which has the great potential to enable rapid application development model within the business.

The best part what I like about Mendix is TAT(Turn around time) of the project. With help of Mendix, we can easily deliver an application in a span of 3 weeks from scratch right from development to deployment which usually takes months in case of traditional coding.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Not having CDN within the Mendix architecture is one of the thing I don't like. It can have enhance the performance and response time of the application having within the application setup.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It enables RAD model which gives us an opportunity on building the core application without worrying about the underlying architecture of the application.

Mendix has a powerful offering as PaaS model where one has to be bothered for application and its data management and rather it is maintained by Mendix which helps in achieving less TAT (Turn around time) of the project.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Naman, thank you for sharing your positive experience with Mendix. We understand your concern about the lack of CDN within the architecture and will take this into consideration for future improvements.

  ### 43. A robust platform for visual development

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Giuseppe A. | Mendix Practice Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2024

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

Mendix makes app development efficient with its visual interface, but what really stands out for me is the balance between ease of use and flexibility. Compared to other low-code tools I’ve worked with, Mendix gives me far more control and freedom to handle complex requirements without feeling constrained. The platform’s robust integration options and scalability make it a greatchoice for building applications that can grow with the ever changing business needs.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

One issue I’ve encountered with Mendix is the dependency management for marketplace modules. While these modules save A LOT OF time, managing their updates and compatibility with new platform releases sometimes become a challenge. I know the latest release is addressing this, but it still requires careful planning and testing to avoid potential issues in production.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is really user friendly. And everytime i talk to business or deep techy guys it is easy for them to follow and understand!

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Giuseppe, we're glad to hear that Mendix's user-friendly interface is beneficial for both business and technical users. Our focus is to provide a platform that is accessible and understandable for all users, enabling effective collaboration and communication.

  ### 44. Swiss army knife that beats high-coding in a ton of situations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mitchel M. | Mendix Expert Consultant / CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Mendix?**

You can start adding value from the get-go. This is achievable because the platform lets you focus on the business challenges instead of the technical details you need to focus on when building with alternative methods, such as what we low-coders call high-code. This does not mean that you are too limited. I would go so far as to say that for 80% of business-to-business or business internal processes, Mendix can easily supply a solution.

Mendix should not be confused with no-code or limited low-code platforms. You may build a custom application from the ground up. It will allow you to cut corners and reach your ROI much faster. If the platform can't provide a solution out of the box, know that the tech stack is Java, SQL, and JavaScript, so extending the server-side logic with Java or the client-side logic with JavaScript is still possible. As enterprise apps and even small business apps never work alone, integrations are effortless to achieve. By default, REST, OData, SOAP and DB connections are supported out of the box.

As I use the platform daily and I have done so for 14 years, I know it inside and out. I have even had short projects supplying Mendix R&D with my skill set. And have been appointed MVP since June this year. This is a fantastic program to support ecosystem developers with direct lines to Mendix R&D to achieve a quick feedback loop and an even better platform.

Even if you are not ready to buy Mendix yet it is super easy to get started, after you have build your first app, perhaps based on an Excel you have been struggling with you may deploy it to a sandbox and share the results with the rest of the world.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

The platform has grown a lot since its first inception. This means the learning curve is growing for newcomers. The number of possibilities to learn more about the platform has grown, too, but that does mean that it takes a bit of studying to truly become good at using the Mendix platform. This, however, is no different from any other mature application platform. It is, on the other hand, not so visible from Mendix's marketing that claims that anyone can build an app with Mendix. This is true at its core, but the moment you start to build core applications for your business seriously, it is still very advisable to have developers who know more about software development than just the basics that you encounter when first starting with Mendix.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mendix allows me to focus on adding value for my customers, far more then high-code ever did (I started as a high-coder early in my career).
Mendix is a full platform not just a coding language, allowing me to build, deploy, test, maintain and manage the whole software lifecycle.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Mitchel, thank you for your detailed insights into the benefits of using Mendix. We understand the importance of providing a platform that enables users to build, deploy, and manage software effectively. Your feedback will help us continue to improve and support our users.

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Understanding the way to control the apps at an enterprise level over time.

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's bridged a gap in capability, but is now enabling us to standardize the user interface for Opcenter.

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Roger, it's great to hear that Mendix is bridging the gap in capability and enabling standardization of the user interface for Opcenter. We appreciate your insights on the benefits it brings to your organization.

The drag and drop feature of the mendix. A person who understand the logic but does not know programming languages can easily build a simple application just by using basic concepts and at a drag of a function

**What do you dislike about Mendix?**

Can be made more user friendly and can give tips on mouse hover on how to use the function. Also make the documentation more user friendly and available

**What problems is Mendix solving and how is that benefiting you?**

was building a custom app for software inventory management

**Official Response from Yolanda Dong:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with the drag and drop feature of Mendix. We understand your suggestions for making the platform more user-friendly and providing better documentation, and we will certainly take those into account for future enhancements.
