"My go to bibliography handler"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Mendeley?

I can input the articles in various ways. I can either upload the pdf file in the offline software, which automatically reads the citation from the file. I can also add a citation manually or use Chrome extension to add any article in the list of references. It then automatically syncs them in my PC. I can use these references easily in Microsoft Word, by using its addon available inside Microsoft Word. There are a handful of citation styles to choose from. Also, it's very easy to handle duplicate references. This avoids having multiple instances of same references in the bibliography. I can also add a whole folder with the reference documents and it automatically creates citations for them. There are options to sort and filter the references using different parameters. It also provides the Citation Key, which lets me take my references to Latex very easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

There are problems during the synchronization in many instances. Also, their servers are under maintenance sometimes, which results in loosing certain references. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best tool to manage the references for your research"
5/5
What do you like best about Mendeley?

I always recommend Mendeley to my students to be used as a tool to manage the references for their research work.

Mendeley is very handy when you have to read dozens of papers and keep track of what you read, take notes and annotate your files.

You can easily import your search results from some repositories and export your references in different formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

Sometimes it does not recognize the PDF files correctly and shows wrong metedata.

Some files do not allow you to copy text from them, but I believe this is a PDF-related issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Mendeley is an amazing resource for organizing and annotating publications!"
5/5
What do you like best about Mendeley?

I like that Mendeley allows me to organize all of my research papers by different categories, sorts them by author name, date, or title, and is a straightforward tool to build lists of reference literature. I also love that it is easy to highlight and annotate different papers while I read them and work offline if needed. My computer often gets overloaded with files, and I do not have time to go through them all, but Mendeley allows me to stay organized and manage all of my documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

Mendeley was slightly confusing to use at first because I couldn't move files where I wanted them, and it took me a while to figure out how to create new categories to sort papers. Although this resource usually is very handy at collecting reference information, it sometimes misses an author name, paper title, or journal, which can be frustrating at times. Additionally, the notes tool is a very small sidebar and I often wish it was bigger and had more options for using bullet points or numbering as in Microsoft Word. "My savior for research paper organization"
5/5
What do you like best about Mendeley?

It keeps me organized. I am the type of person who can't think if I'm not organized. I couldn't deal with just having a file of papers on my computer. Being able to catalog and search through them is amazing, sort by author or title, etc Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

Nothing. I'm happy with the way Mendeley works Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Needs updates"
1/5
What do you like best about Mendeley?

The overview of literature in the main window, the fact that you can change the way the library is presented and the optional MS Word Plugin. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

Two years ago, I wrote an email to the programmers of Mendeley, asking why the library search results were looking so strange, and if any updates would fix these problems. The column width of "Mark as favorite" and" Mark as read" was very broad after a search, and the words searched for only appeared in the first couple of literature search results. They responded that they were working on it. I subsequently wrote them, more than a year later, asking why nothing had happened, and I received no response. Today, I realised that the litterature shuffles around, when I click the "Mark as favorite" icon of an article. There are just so many small bugs that they apparently do not plan on fixing. "discuss important topics and store important documents, all in one place."

What do you like best about Mendeley?

I have used similar platforms, but none is like Mendeley, it really fascinates me, its interface is simple to use, the menu is at a glance, where all the options you can find of the service are displayed.

I love that I can both import and export files from platforms like Zotero, Refworks and Endnote and I can also do it in RIS format.

I also like that it is not only a PDF reader, but also a PDF editor which means that I don't have to have an additional editing program.

One of the best features of this platform is that I can generate automatic reference lists and add direct notes to the files.

Signing up is easy, as you can do it in seconds, either with an email or from your Facebook account.

It has two versions one free and one paid, I must say that both work with a very superior quality and certainly the paid version has many more features, however with the free version you can also do a quality work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Mendeley?

Really Mendeley has been an incredible support, there is nothing I don't like about this platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
