Misleading and conflicting information on their website - buyer beware **Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars **Reviewed by:** Mark B. | Owner, Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.) **Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025 **What do you like best about Memtime?** Tracking software works well and as described. **What do you dislike about Memtime?** Their website has conflicting information that is misleading. The free trial is full featured so if you want what you trial you have to buy the maximum plan. You can't trial the lower plans. At their most deceitful, they offer to connect any software, but they won't. When pressed they say they need to have 50 customers request an integration or they wont bother. They don't say this anywhere on their website. Their website repeatedly says they will integrate any you need. Unless your software is listed you have no future integration path and no API access. The list price on G2 is in USD. They will only contract in Euro. They have a minimim quarterly payment. You find this our when you contract at the end of the trial period. Although in the plan comparison, the phone integration doesn't include the iPhone connection to track your calls as a premium feature. It is only available on the premium plan. They don't care that the website misleads and is deceptive. They can quote rules when they want. As usual the power resides with them. In most countries misleading and deceiving behaviour is illegal. This is a company that doesn't care. Be warned. **What problems is Memtime solving and how is that benefiting you?** Tracking my time as I jump from task to task. ### 2. Memtime continually request access to calenders every day, several times a day. - the only integration on the level I purchased Customer Support have been less than helpful There is no way of downloaded the information into a report so you can deal with it, no longer links to my current time recording software with all of my clients set up I had to get IT involved to install and set up i.e. its not easy, I had a few issues Total waste of time, energy and money setting it up Wouldn't recommend purchasing it unless you want a 2 year tie-in and pay for the premium **What problems is Memtime solving and how is that benefiting you?** none - its causing more issues than it orginally solve **Official Response from niclas preisner:** > Hi, this is Niclas, Managing Director at Memtime. I was sorry to hear you had a bad experience with our app. So I researched your case and read all communications with our support team. Unfortunately, I have to say that the points you mentioned in this review do not reflect the reality of the situation. 1. You deliberately bought the wrong plan You had a free trial of Memtime Connect, which is integrated with your current timesheet provider, as you mentioned. The website explains what features can be found in what plan. After the free trial you decided to buy, and you voluntarily picked the wrong plan for your use case, despite the website preselecting the right plan at the time of purchase. It clearly shows that you would lose access to the integration with your current timesheet provider when you chose the Basic package. You could immediately solve this by upgrading back to the plan you chose for the free trial. 2. You didn’t allow us to connect your calendar Memtime constantly requests access to your calendar because you didn’t give the required permissions to Memtime to track your calendar. We offered you a support call and help articles to solve this, and you refused. 3. Customer support has been more than helpful Our team has explained everything to you in a very timely manner. They even prepared a custom Video Tutorial just for you so you can make the most of the Memtime Basic plan you purchased. We have a very personal customer support experience. Customers can book video calls and receive custom tutorial videos that suit their use case. 4. Nobody ever asked you to buy Memtime Premium Just like Memtime Basic, Memtime Premium doesn’t suit your use case. We told you that you need Memtime Connect because it has the integration to Quickbooks Time that you chose to test during your free trial. The app's Basic plan offers automated tracking, CSV and Excel Reporting, even automation of time entry creation, and many other features. Premium, for example, contains telephone system integrations or Enterprise Admin features. You've never tried Premium. So we don't know how you concluded that people would have "basically nothing" without Premium. 5. The installation works just like any other app To be honest, you can install Memtime blindfolded by simply clicking Next, Yes & Install a few times. Nevertheless, we are happy to offer help via video call and we have done so in your case. But you have decided not to accept help, which is fine. It seems to have worked, otherwise you probably wouldn't have bought it. 6. You chose a 2-year subscription to save money Our app never requires a 2-year subscription. You can get all plans in a quarterly, yearly, or 2-year subscription. You save up to 20% with a yearly subscription and up to 33% with a 2-year subscription. So, you have made this choice, just like whether you want Basic or Connect. To summarize: We have offered you every conceivable help and suggested solutions. You refused and insulted us at every step of the way. Nevertheless, you are still our customer. If you contact us again, I will assign you a new support agent you have not been in contact with. The agent will help you upgrade the Memtime Connect plan and restore the Quickbooks Time integration. ### 3. AVOID! It also stopped working on my new Mac. **What do you dislike about Memtime?** Absolutely shocking customer service. They plan on signing you up for 2 years into a rolling contract. They don't send out any notification that the contract is up for renewal. They simply send out an invoice and take the payment straight away. I stopped using the software after a few months and never realised I am still in a contract. Even their terms and conditions state that a payment reminder is sent and no emails are sent. If you check online, other users have the same issue. After 1 week of trying to get a refund of €240!!! they keep saying no. They are not interested in having happy customers! **What problems is Memtime solving and how is that benefiting you?** none **Official Response from niclas preisner:** > First, I'm sorry you were unsatisfied and stopped using our service. I understand that paying for a subscription you no longer need is frustrating. - We haven't received a support ticket from you Memtime doesn't work on your new Mac. We never had a single case of the software stopping to work. If we ever have such a case and cannot fix it, we will immediately refund. - Refund policy: Refunds cost us a fee. We refund in cases of hardship, e.g., severe illness or similar. We don't refund you if you forget to cancel your subscription because we consider this the user's responsibility. And yes, there are other users who have forgotten this in the past. - Cancellation: Users can cancel their subscription at any time before renewal, effective immediately, with one click and without a cancellation period. - Our customer service team are the nicest people I know. They politely explained the policy they had to follow. It's unfair to them to make it look like you were tricked into a 2-year contract. Users decide for themselves. It's understandable to choose the 2-year subscription because there is a 33% discount. - In our T&C, we state that we send payment reminders, and we, in fact, send them. We don’t send renewal reminders. This is the industry standard. (However, it is something we will consider in the future) Again, I'm sorry to leave you unhappy with the decision. ### 4. When you get started with your subscription, you receive an email on which the date for the next renewal is written. This info is untrue! The moment you cancel your subscription, before renewal, you will be confronted with a three months cancellation period, that supposedly is hidden in the "small letters". This is as you all know not the industry standard for online tools. This is how publishers in the 80s and 90s tried to scam their customers into paying extra years of subscription. Obviously I informed the company about this and you can find more bad reviews on this company if you google! We agree that the term "renewal date" in the old emails at timeBro was misleading.
