"Great Compatibility and Features, But Lacking Mac Support"
What do you like best about memoQ?

I like that memoQ easily helps segment out documents for translation and supports a wide range of file formats. It's also compatible with most other TMS software, so I can use it within external tools or directly in memoQ. There are many features in the tool that don't exist in some other CAT tools, and I find the quality errors and warnings system works well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

The 'web' version is a mess and has been for about 8 years. I'm not sure why it's not as comprehensive as the desktop version, creating a lot of problems for project managers. Especially because memoQ doesn't support Mac iOS, project managers that use Macs are limited in their capabilities to what they can reach via the web app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best solution for videogame localization"
What do you like best about memoQ?

*Multilingual delimited text filter option*

It's the most costumizable and refined option I found in standalone CAT tools, allowing to import only the columns in scope, context, character limits, context from multiple sheets of the same file. Essential for video games localizers, as multilingual spreadsheets are the standard format of the industry.

*Multilingual Termbase with stemming*

The termbase works beautifully with the QA function to spot terminological inconsistencies. Aslo, the stemming prevents a great deal of false positives. Nice to be able to build single a term base in all my three languages.

*Longevity*

My old MemoQ 9 still works as a charm! By the way, I want to thank warmly Viktor Mochnács and Santiago de Miguel from Sales for helping me retrieve my serial number after my computer died on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

Well, the newsubscription plan is not very budget friendly for freelance translators that have to work with different clients on different CAT Tools. I would suggest to reintroduce a buy-once option without all the bells and whistles for translators seeking just a reliable CAT tool to fall back on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Regrettable Removal of memoQ’s Hide Menu"
What do you like best about memoQ?

The basic features of memoQ are quick and easy to learn. It also offers more advanced features that help translators Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

1. You removed the Hide menu option that used to appear when right-clicking a project name in memoQ 2014 (installer: memoQ-2014-Setup.64.exe). The Hide option was extremely useful, and there is currently no replacement that performs the same function.

The Hide feature allowed users to temporarily remove projects from the Project List without deleting them. At present, the only way to achieve a similar result is by using a workaround: I move the project’s folder to the Desktop, restart memoQ, and attempt to open the project again. memoQ then displays a message saying that the project no longer exists and asks whether I want to remove it from the list. I click Yes, and the project is removed from the Project List. After that, I move the project folder back to its original location, because I do not want to delete the project — I only want to hide it from the list.

2. memoQ does not provide a translation preview for InDesign files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Empowers Team Collaboration with Outstanding Support"
What do you like best about memoQ?

It is a powerful tool that allows real time collaboration among the team. It is now central to our activities. We were able to fine tune it too meet the specific needs of our team. The Live Docs are also a great feature that we use frequently to maximize the recycling of our previous work, thanks to a workflow that we created with the help of memoQ. I must say that the support from the memoQ training and support teams is beyond amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

It is a great customizable tool that may give the impression you are roaming hrough a labyrinth, especially at first. The interface could be a little more user-friendly. That being said, once you know your way through the tool, the possibilities are endless!! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Translation Solution with Seamless Collaboration"
What do you like best about memoQ?

What I like best about memoQ is how easy it is to use and implement, even in environments where many users are just starting out. The platform offers a rich set of features without feeling complicated, which makes it suitable for frequent use in both training and real project work. I also appreciate how smoothly it integrates with other tools and resources, which helps create a consistent workflow for students and professionals. On top of that, the customer support team is always quick to respond and genuinely helpful, which makes the overall experience even more reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

What I dislike about memoQ is that some advanced features can feel overwhelming at first for new users, especially in an educational environment where skill levels vary. It sometimes takes extra time to guide students through the more complex settings. In addition, occasional performance slowdowns can appear when working with very large projects. However, once users become familiar with the platform, these issues become much easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Full toolkit to deliver premium quality translations with fast personable support"
What do you like best about memoQ?

I like the way everything works out of the box, everything is in place to just get the work done easily and with good quality. It was made by translators for translators, that is what they say and that is how it feels.

The customer support is top notch. They respond quickly, are careful and clear in explaining things. Really grateful for that.

Then there are integrated tools that I have yet to learn to use well, like the LiveDocs alignment editor, AutoCorect lists, Segmentation rules, RegEx, and others. So, nothing to dislike about memoQ, I just haven't had the time to learn how to get the most out of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

The new 11.6.8 was very resource heavy, and did not interact well with the TMS that I use with my colleagues. So, I downgraded to 11.3 the last LTS version. Waiting for the next LTS version before upgrading. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effective but difficult to setup with limited options for small teams"
What do you like best about memoQ?

I like that the program is extremely effective and efficient. You are able to divide up projects and sections of projects into chunks and these can be issued out as needed to various people.

Customer support has been wonderful in helping out when they can but they can't solve implementation issues that an engineer would be able to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

It is difficult to setup and it's somewhat ineffective for our workflow with one of our projects. The inability for MemoQ to export comments back onto Excel is mindboggling. We are able to import those same comments but we can not add additional comments and have them exported.

There isn't much else to dislike about MemoQ aside from those two major issues we have of it.

There is also the problem of trying to scale up storage space. You can only archive so many things before the cloud is out of space. We don't really need to add another project manager, we just need to increase storage, but there is no way to do that without adding an additional project manager account. It would be great to see additional flexible options for smaller companies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best features and customer support in the industry"
What do you like best about memoQ?

We really appreciate the robust filters, which make it easy to handle various file types. The option to reimport files when necessary is very useful, and exporting and naming files is straightforward. I feel like there are endless possibilities with this tool. The sales, training, and support teams have been outstanding—they made our implementation process smooth, allowed us to purchase the tool and connectors in phases, and always responded quickly to questions from our Dev, IT, and AI governance teams. We are also impressed with memoQ AGT, as it truly learns from our linguistic resources and produces translations that reflect our brand’s voice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

We find it inconvenient that the termbase results are displayed in the same window as the translation memory and machine translation results. While the color coding does help, the window itself is quite small, and it often feels like there is simply too much information crowded into one place. As both translators and project managers who create our own projects, we also struggle with the similarity between the project management and translation windows. Their nearly identical appearance makes it confusing, and we frequently end up on the wrong screen or accidentally close the wrong window. Managing multiple windows in this way feels cumbersome. It might be easier if everything could be consolidated into a single window with color-coded tabs for better organization. Lastly, we have had difficulties with the word count feature, as it does not accurately reflect our translation progress. The current way progress is shown is not very helpful. "Translator-Focused Features"
What do you like best about memoQ?

You can tell that it was designed focussing on translators, from the outset. Over time, features have grown to accommodate the new (and not so new) business needs and enterprise clients, and lately powerful -yet its no-nonsense, real-world feel is there, with those core features who made me love it still there, even better.

It has been essential to my work, every day, either as a freelancer and when setting up in-company translation teams.

Corpus and terminology management, integrations, filtering, AGT... make it stand out. There are real people at the wheel in the support team, and really professional. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about memoQ?

I barely use the interface of web-based MemoQ Editor; in my experience, usability of the local MemoQ is far better.

Online help structure and clarity may improve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We're glad to hear that you find the core features of memoQ essential to your work. Thank you for your review!

"Intuitive and Agile, Excellent for Translators"
What do you like best about memoQ?

I like that memoQ is very intuitive and easy to use, which makes the installation and configuration of the software easier. The process of reviewing documents is quite agile, especially when working with tags and warnings. I also appreciate that the import and export of memories is done quickly and easily. The interface of the web version is simpler than the desktop one, but it works well, and working with a live server is very efficient. I am satisfied with its performance and would definitely buy it again. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
