What do you like best about Meltwater?

What do you dislike about Meltwater?

Our contract did not cover television, newspaper or radio although I was led to believe that it would. This left me still needing to research those media hits and manually record those impressions. I have mentioned this to Meltwater and given feedback that the value is not worth the high price you pay for both, especially if you are in a small media market like ours and only want local media reporting. What do you like best about Meltwater?

Meltwater's daily digests and robust reporting dashboards make it easy to see exactly what I need! Each morning I start my day reading through the daily digest to see if there are any customer support fires to put out. What do you dislike about Meltwater?

Meltwater is an expensive tool, but when budgeted for, it has driven results for our immediate team and owners. There is an abundance of features which is helpful, but can make it difficult to know where to begin looking and clicking for an answer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Meltwater solving and how is that benefiting you?

Meltwater allows our team to better capture what customers are saying about our shops online. Most recently, I have been using Meltwater to verify PR analytics. Our previous platform for PR analytics was often inaccurate and Meltwater has given me the confidence to share my findings both internally and externally.

What do you like best about Meltwater?

I love how Meltwater Radarly provides a comprehensive overview of social media trends. It enables me to track current and past conversations about our product offering in real-time, which is crucial for understanding player sentiment and preferences. What do you like best about Meltwater?

Meltwater has been supporting us for several years on two main points: alerting and influencer marketing. The configuration of searches is facilitated with teams that are attentive and very proactive, allowing us to regularly update terms and track daily outcomes thanks to reports, and even live on the hottest topics with Slack integration! Regarding influence, the tool is very fast and allows us to scrutinize each account before collaborations to ensure the right choice is made, before seeing statistics rise in real-time to best follow the strategy! What do you dislike about Meltwater?

I don't see any major drawbacks to using Meltwater except for the presentation of the data. There is so much data collected that the dashboards can sometimes be complex and it can be difficult to find the key information. Nevertheless, the user interface of the tool remains good and it's better to be in this position and have too much information than not enough! What do you like best about Meltwater?

I like how easy it is to use. We use Engage daily for our work and have been able to keep better track of our communications content and key metrics. The Meltwater team is also supportive and has quickly helped solve any challenge we've had and trained us on anything we'd like to learn about their platforms. What do you dislike about Meltwater?

I often struggle with using the Engage app. It is inconvenient to have to type in my login information every time I try to use it. It's a small step but I don't have to do this with most other apps. Additionally, the app sometimes doesn't load the posts that I've drafted in the online version. I would love to use the app more, but it's not as easy to edit and reschedule posts. It's solving our problem of having a collective place for general media management, like social media, press marketing and media monitoring. It helps our organization keep track of the qualitative reach of our communications. Meltwater provides us with invaluable data and insights. With the Explore function, we can monitor online conversations about our organization and related areas, while also comparing those discussions to competitor activity and analyzing trends over different time periods. My favorite feature, however, is the "best time to post" recommendations within the Engage function. By analyzing our audience’s activity and peak online times, Meltwater suggests optimal posting times, significantly boosting our engagement across all social media platforms. There’s nothing I dislike about Meltwater. However, I do wish platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook had less restrictive privacy regulations, as accessing more data would be incredibly useful for our research and insights - but that's a social platform issue, not a Meltwater issue. Meltwater helps us gauge public perception of the foundation, its initiatives, and topics related to Primary Immunodeficiency (PI). With these insights, we can address misconceptions and strengthen our messaging.

By tracking conversations around similar foundations, Meltwater provides us with valuable benchmarks on how others in the industry are performing, what they’re focusing on, and where we can stand out.

Meltwater’s recommendations on optimal posting times enhance our engagement on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. This allows us to refine our content strategy based on audience behavior and trends.

For campaigns like World Primary Immunodeficiency Week (WPIW), Meltwater enables us to measure reach, engagement, and overall impact. This data helps us assess what resonates with our audience and fine-tune future campaigns.

Meltwater also simplifies the process of identifying advocates and potential partners discussing PI or related healthcare topics. Engaging with these individuals amplifies our message and broadens our reach.

What do you dislike about Meltwater?

One aspect of Meltwater that I find a bit frustrating is the "Every Mention" tag. Whenever I post something on social media and mention my company, I receive an alert about my own post. While I understand the value of tracking mentions, it would be much more useful to only receive alerts about mentions made by others, rather than my own content. The current setup can make it difficult to differentiate between organic mentions from customers, followers, or the media, and my own posts. It would be great if Meltwater could offer a way to filter out alerts for self-mentions, allowing me to focus on external engagement and relevant conversations around my brand. What do you dislike about Meltwater?

Many times information is lost or I see things that are not very interesting because everything is automatic or AI. At least in my field, which is politics, there are things that I would like to see in a different way.

Also, since the platform is so big and has so many things, it is difficult to take advantage of everything, even if I have staff that teaches me or tries to help me use the tools.

What do you like best about Meltwater?

In my opinion, Meltwater has the most comprehensive tracking software available to public relations representatives. When compared over the years to its peers, it could consistently gather more data than its competitors, leading to more comprehensive reports.

What do you dislike about Meltwater?

It's reporter database is ok, improving over the years tremendously, but I too often find generic emails for press contacts or a lack of current updates. From demoing competitors, I think there are other programs that do this better. In addition, sending and tracking emails through the system is not a great option, given the lack of customization you are able to provide (only fill in the blanks, not customized sentences or notes). Where it matters most, it excels. Most press contacts can be found through a little digging and other sources.

While it can be comprehensive, I don't find the ease of use/understanding to always be easy. It can take quite a bit of manual effort to ensure accuracy and convert the data to reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Meltwater?

I have tried many other platforms and Meltwater has been the most efficient and user friendly. Other platforms have fallen short in my opinion pertaining to the level of integration you can use it for your campaings. I also use it almost every day, therefore it is klearly (haha) something that is integrated into the core of our management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

They recently reduced the size of files that you can send to creators which is not helpful for us since we send our breifing separately through a pdf.
