Our contract did not cover television, newspaper or radio although I was led to believe that it would. This left me still needing to research those media hits and manually record those impressions. I have mentioned this to Meltwater and given feedback that the value is not worth the high price you pay for both, especially if you are in a small media market like ours and only want local media reporting. Meltwater's daily digests and robust reporting dashboards make it easy to see exactly what I need! Each morning I start my day reading through the daily digest to see if there are any customer support fires to put out. Meltwater has been supporting us for several years on two main points: alerting and influencer marketing. The configuration of searches is facilitated with teams that are attentive and very proactive, allowing us to regularly update terms and track daily outcomes thanks to reports, and even live on the hottest topics with Slack integration! Regarding influence, the tool is very fast and allows us to scrutinize each account before collaborations to ensure the right choice is made, before seeing statistics rise in real-time to best follow the strategy! I don't see any major drawbacks to using Meltwater except for the presentation of the data. There is so much data collected that the dashboards can sometimes be complex and it can be difficult to find the key information. Nevertheless, the user interface of the tool remains good and it's better to be in this position and have too much information than not enough! I like how easy it is to use. We use Engage daily for our work and have been able to keep better track of our communications content and key metrics. I often struggle with using the Engage app. It is inconvenient to have to type in my login information every time I try to use it. It's a small step but I don't have to do this with most other apps. Additionally, the app sometimes doesn't load the posts that I've drafted in the online version. I would love to use the app more, but it's not as easy to edit and reschedule posts. There’s nothing I dislike about Meltwater. One aspect of Meltwater that I find a bit frustrating is the "Every Mention" tag. Whenever I post something on social media and mention my company, I receive an alert about my own post. While I understand the value of tracking mentions, it would be much more useful to only receive alerts about mentions made by others, rather than my own content. The current setup can make it difficult to differentiate between organic mentions from customers, followers, or the media, and my own posts. It would be great if Meltwater could offer a way to filter out alerts for self-mentions, allowing me to focus on external engagement and relevant conversations around my brand. Many times information is lost or I see things that are not very interesting because everything is automatic or AI. At least in my field, which is politics, there are things that I would like to see in a different way.
Also, since the platform is so big and has so many things, it is difficult to take advantage of everything, even if I have staff that teaches me or tries to help me use the tools.

In my opinion, Meltwater has the most comprehensive tracking software available to public relations representatives. When compared over the years to its peers, it could consistently gather more data than its competitors, leading to more comprehensive reports.

It's reporter database is ok, improving over the years tremendously, but I too often find generic emails for press contacts or a lack of current updates. From demoing competitors, I think there are other programs that do this better. In addition, sending and tracking emails through the system is not a great option, given the lack of customization you are able to provide (only fill in the blanks, not customized sentences or notes). Where it matters most, it excels. Most press contacts can be found through a little digging and other sources.

I have tried many other platforms and Meltwater has been the most efficient and user friendly. Other platforms have fallen short in my opinion pertaining to the level of integration you can use it for your campaings. They recently reduced the size of files that you can send to creators which is not helpful for us since we send our breifing separately through a pdf.
