What do you like best about Meltwater?

What stands out most to me about Meltwater is how it simplifies tracking and organizing information from different media sources in one place. In my work, I occasionally follow industry updates, company announcements, and engineering or manufacturing trends, and earlier this involved checking multiple websites and platforms separately.

With Meltwater, I can monitor relevant topics through a single dashboard and quickly understand what is being discussed without spending extra time searching manually. For instance, when I need to stay updated on industry developments or competitor-related news, the alerts and reporting features make the process much more organized.

I also find the automated reports and real-time notifications helpful because they reduce repetitive monitoring work. Instead of collecting updates manually, the platform already presents the information in a structured format that’s easier to review and share.

Even though the platform includes many capabilities, getting started was fairly straightforward, and basic monitoring tasks were easy to understand after some initial usage.

What do you dislike about Meltwater?

One thing I’ve noticed is that because the platform handles a very large amount of media and social data, some searches or dashboards can occasionally feel slower to load, especially when working with broader monitoring queries.

I’ve also seen situations where certain smaller or niche articles were not captured immediately in search results, so I sometimes cross-check important updates manually when accuracy is critical.

What do you like best about Meltwater?

I primarily use Meltwater for social media management, and the 'Publish' feature is the one I use the most. I really appreciate the content and calendar management capabilities, and the fact that it generates easy reports. Meltwater's customer support is great, with quick messaging in the system, and my client support and account managers are the best! I also like being able to post one piece of content across social media platforms, which reduces the need to post content manually. What do you like best about Meltwater?

The Meltwater tool has a lot of features, so many so that it may feel overwhelming at first, but they are clearly demarcated in the software. Particularly useful for us are the Media Relations tool, which allows us to quickly find journalists active across the world, as we are active and invest in multiple countries. The other features that are incredibly useful not just for our stakeholder management team, but also other internal stakeholders, are the automated Daily news Alerts, which provides a comprehensive overview of where we've been mentioned in the media, so much so that we were able to cancel another subscription we used for media monitoring and allocate those resources elsewhere.

Customer support has also been great, the success managers (while they do rotate out fairly often) are proactive and have helped support our journey throughout, particularly with trainings, onboarding new users, and refining our media monitoring and searches. And the new AI Mira chatbot, while having some bugs, has made it much easier to search for contacts and journalists! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its comprehensive database of media contacts helps us save time when researching who might be the best person to reach out to for a particular story. The embedded social media profiles, along with links to journalists’ work, also help us understand not only what their beat is, but whether our story is truly a good fit. I really appreciate the media relations feature of Meltwater, which I use most often. It helps me identify outlets or journalists already relevant and synchronize outreach. The ease of setup has been great, and the Meltwater team is hands-on and willing to guide us through the platform. They ensure we understand everything, and the community support is very helpful. I think at times when I know we have had an interview or a story that has run-in a publication, sometimes we have not been able to locate the article when I do a search for it. This has happened a few times, and I'm trying to understand why that happens. What do you like best about Meltwater?

I use Meltwater for social monitoring and reporting, which gives me deep insights into how our brand is performing across social channels. I find it valuable that I can easily track topics of interest and transform that data into automated digest emails and reports to share with company leadership. I really like the Boolean search feature because it allows me to easily refine my searches, pulling data from exactly where I want for the specific time period and keywords I care about. What do you like best about Meltwater?

I use Meltwater daily at my PR agency to track coverage, create reports, gather insights, and do audits for my clients. Meltwater is our go-to for reporting and makes it easier for our team to collect data and insights all in one platform. I love the visual reports and charts because they allow us to provide color to our reports and presentations. My favorite aspects include Mira, the AI features which help in developing effective booleans, the visual reports and charts, the AI insights, as well as the organization and tagging abilities like saving searches and filters. These features allow me to provide strong insights and data to my clients. The organization is also very helpful to keep everything in its proper place, especially considering the changing client set and one-off projects and cross-team collaboration. What do you like best about Meltwater?

I've been using PR management tools since the 2000s. Meltwater has become my trusted resource for all things media. Meltwater has evolved and grown to become a sophisticated media management and intelligence platform. After overcoming some too-simplified UI hiccups a few years ago, the experience is generally easy to manage, configure and maximize. Breadth and access to reporters across beats I don't usually work with has been helpful. It's also been invaluable for reporting. What do you dislike about Meltwater?

Some KPIs we report on require us to calibrate data we get from Meltwater. For example, Substack influencers are presented as having the reach of the whole platform vs their subscriber base. In B2B sectors where substackers are prominent, this can quickly distort numbers. LinkedIn's lockout of 3rd parties is a challenge the industry is dealing with as a whole.

What do you like best about Meltwater?

All of the tools and the monthly one on one personalized support from my Rep. It also feels great to be able to give insights and data to leadership in real time. I feel more prepared in my role, ready to better support the brand and able to personalize content to our current followers as well as attract new followers and stay on top of trends. It's also easy to use, in my first year in my role I went from learning the platform to it being the sharpest and most universally used tool in my tool box, building entire campaigns around the platform. What do you dislike about Meltwater?

I haven't found a downside yet, when I do find things that I wish the platform had or a gap I tell our rep and she's always great about taking our feedback to heart and sharing it back to the team at Meltwater. I do wish you had the option to tag content posted through platforms organically, after the fact, I would also love to be able to execute stories and see "best times" for stories on Meltwater as well as Pinterest feedback. What do you like best about Meltwater?

I use Meltwater for social listening, social media and community management, influencer management, brand health reporting, and sentiment monitoring. It's been great to have one centralized platform to manage all these areas, which really streamlines the management tasks for me. The searches and settings across various aspects of Meltwater help me work more efficiently, especially in social media where it reduces the manual labor related to sentiment tracking, tagging, and reporting with the help of the Mira AI agent. I find everything super easy to manage as it all works together to provide the necessary insights. I value the Explore function and the social media management tools the most.
