What do you dislike about Melio?
I regret to share my deeply unsatisfactory experience with Melio, a payment service that has fallen short of expectations in several key areas. It is crucial for potential users to be aware of these issues to make informed decisions.
One major drawback revolves around Melio's offering of two free checks a month. Despite this seemingly attractive feature, a significant problem arises when checks are scheduled in advance. Melio imposes charges after the first two scheduled checks, regardless of whether the user exceeds the monthly limit. This billing approach lacks transparency and caught me off guard, resulting in unexpected fees for scheduled payments.
Moreover, the recurring technical issues I encountered are alarming. In December, a payment was scheduled but failed to go through due to a "technical issue." While Melio assured me that the problem was resolved, the same issue recurred in January. When I reached out seeking clarification and resolution, the response was less than satisfactory. Melio acknowledged the problem but only offered to issue the payment at that moment, with no consideration for the late fees I would incur from the vendor. This lack of proactive communication and problem-solving on their part is concerning.
Equally disheartening is the customer service experience. Instead of taking responsibility for the recurring technical issues, Melio consistently attributes every problem to a generic "technical issue" and claims that the matter has been resolved, even when it clearly persists. This evasive approach leaves customers without clear answers or resolutions, eroding trust in the platform's reliability.
In conclusion, based on my unfortunate experiences, I strongly caution against using Melio for sending checks. The undisclosed charges for scheduled payments, persistent technical issues, and unsatisfactory customer service make Melio an unreliable option for businesses relying on timely and secure payments. If possible, I recommend exploring alternative services, particularly those focused on ACH transactions, to avoid the pitfalls I encountered with Melio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
